MFT Challenges - A Castle & Retro Flowers

dimanche 28 janvier 2018

Hey there,

Today I'm back to share with you two cards I made for My Favorite Things Challenges. They're pretty simple, but yet very cute I think ^^

The first one was made for Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I kept the background white and clean so the image can be kind of the star of the card. I chose this cute castle and the sentiment because it reminded me of Disney movies.

MFT supplies: Once Upon A Time stamp set + Jumbo Peek-A-Boo Circle Windows die set

Other supplies: Zig markers + Tumbled Glass & Salty Ocean distress inks from Tim Holtz + Sequins from Taylored Expressions + Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock + White cardstock from HobbyCraft

The second card was inspired by the gorgeous colors of the Color Challenge. I used big flower stamps to create something kind of retro (like vintage wallpaper)

MFT supplies: Plentiful Petals stamp set + Big Hello die + Once Upon A Time stamp set

Other supplies: White cardstock from HobbyCraft + Black & Cornflower inks from Hero Arts + Watermelon, Orange Slush & Key Lime inks from Simon Says Stamp

My Favorite Things - Hello from Leo

dimanche 21 janvier 2018

Hey there,

Today I'm back with a card I've been wanted to make since I got this stamp set at Christmas! I love this cute leopard, he's just too cute! And those little birds: so funny!

I first started by die cutting the big "hello" letters one time from a gorgeous leaf paper, and a second time from a sheet of white foam. Glued the paper letters on the foam letters so I get nice dimension.

I stamped and die cut my images off camera, and colored them using my zig markers. Applied black dots on the eyes using a black gel pen.

I embossed stitched lines at the top and bottom of a piece of white cardstock. This it adds more interest and details to the panel. I stamped the second part of my sentiment, and using a T ruler, I glued the letters in the middle of my panel.

Next I glued my images using foam squares and liquid glue (for the birds), attached my panel to a white card base, and added some sequins here and there to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Wishing You Were Here

vendredi 19 janvier 2018

Hello there,

Here is my last card featuring new supplies from Craftin Desert Divas January release. This card showcases an image from the new "Crabby Critters" stamp set + some goodies from previous releases.

I first started by cutting a thin stripe from a world map pattern paper and another one from dark kraft cardstock, and glued both pieces on the right side of my panel. Then I cut a bigger piece from light kraft cardstock and embossed circles on it using a stencil. Attached this piece to the panel too.

From dark red cardstock, I die cut the word "wishing" and a banner where I stamped and gold heat embossed the second part of my sentiment on. Off camera, I die cut a scalloped circle and a normal circle from the same dark and light kraft cardstocks, and attached them to the panel using double sided foam tape to get some dimension.

Attached the red pieces around the circle element using foam squares. Colored the cute little sloth using my alcohol markers. Glued three clouds on the light kraft circle and attached the sloth to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Golden Wishes

mercredi 17 janvier 2018

Hey there,

How about some gold and bright colors? I made this birthday card using some brand new supplies from Craftin Desert Divas January release: "Sweetest Birthday" stamp set + "Party Time" stencil.

I first started by applying some pretty colors of distress inks using the stencil. I sprayed water droplets on top of it and dried the panel to get more interest on the background.

Then from white and gold pola dot paper, I die cut a rectangle. And using the same rectangle die and a smaller one, I created a frame for my polka dot rectangle.

I fussy cut my images, colored them using my zig markers, glued them on the polka dot rectangle and attached the gold frame.

For my sentiment, I die cut the word Sending from gold cardstock and stamped the second part on a banner. I also die cut some little stars and circles from the same gold cardstock. And I finally attached all the pieces on my panel.

Craftin Desert Divas - Legos & Cars

lundi 15 janvier 2018

Hello there,

Craftin Desert Divas January Release is finally available on the shop so I'm back to share another card showcasing some new supplies, and maybe it will inspire you.

I first started by cutting all the squares, rectangles and little circles in order to build my lego pieces. To get some dimension, I attached the circles using glue dots.

On a white card base, I attached a black & white panel, and started to assembled the legos.

I die cut the word happy twice, glued both pieces together and attached it at top right of my panel, right above the second part of my sentiment. And to get more shine, I applied glossy accents on "Happy".

While it was drying, I colored my image using watercolor markers, and fussy cut it. Attached it at the bottom right of my panel using foam squares. And to fill in the blank areas, I simply die cut and glued some little stars and circles.

Diorama Card Series - White Winter

samedi 13 janvier 2018

Hey there,

Today I'm back with a new series: dioramas! I really love making that kind of card because they're very easy to build, and the recipient can put it on the fireplace or on the sideboard to kind of decorate the house ^^ The colors were inspired by the challenge mood board on Craftin Desert Divas facebook page.

Please note that all the measurements are shown in the video below.

I first started by applied white paste on a piece of grey cardstock. While it was drying, I cut all my papers: a big one for the base, three strips, and three different borders to build the winter scene.

I attached each strip inside the base, and then attached each border on a strip. Please watch the video to get a better view ^^ Stamped my sentiment on a banner that I glued on the front strip, and it was done.

Craftin Desert Divas - Cheeky Birthday

jeudi 11 janvier 2018

Hey there,

Look at those cheeky guys, aren't they too cute? Love their funny faces! They're from the new "Crabby Critters" stamp set. I paired them with some other new supplies: "Party Border" die set + ""Happy" die + "Happy Sentiments" stamp set + "Party Time" stencil.

I first started by die cutting a balloon border from white cardstock, colored each balloon using my alcohol markers, and applied glossy accents on top to make them shiny.

I also embossed the stencil on a piece of white cardstock to make the background more interesting, and attached at the top of that panel the balloon border.

Die cut two "Happy" words, glued them together to get some dimension, attached the element on my panel below the balloon border, and applied glossy accents on top of it. Then I attached right below it the second part of my sentiment.

Colored my images using zig markers, fussy cut them and attached them on the left and right of the sentiment banner using foam squares.

Glued the panel on a white card base, and added a bunch of star sequins here and there to finish the card.
