Sunny Studio - Bursting Hearts Shaker Card

jeudi 27 janvier 2022

Hello there,

I'm back with a new Sunny Studio shaker card showcasing the gorgeous Bursting Hearts die. I think this die is self-sufficient, it has a great impact just by itself, you don't need to add a bunch of images to create a beautiful card. This is why I only stamped and colored a cute bear couple from Bear Hugs.

To create the background, I cut two panels out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock measuring 5,5 x 4,25 inches, and colored both of them in cold and wintery colors using cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire and black soot distress ink. I applied the ink from the lightest to the darkest, starting in the middle of the panel towards the edges.

I like my distress ink panels to have texture so I added a lot. I first added water droplets that I dried using a paper towel. Next I mixed some peacock feathers, blueprint sketch and black soot distress inks with water and added more splatters on the papers. I also splattered some liquid stardust mixed with water for some sparkling accents. And to bring more contrast, I splattered a mix of white ink and water.

Once the panels were dry, I cut a million hearts out of one of them using the Bursting Hearts die, and next I created the shaker pocket. I took a plastic packaging from my stash and cut the four edges to remove the seams and get one single plastic sheet. I added doubled sided tape on the four edges of this plastic sheet, placed the second panel right in the middle, and cut the four corners off the plastic sheet, which will make the final card flat and not bulky at the corners.

Next I flipped the panel over and made sure that it was centered in the middle of the plastic sheet, and I attached three of the four tabs. Through the last open tab, I added a whole bunch of Clear Jewels inside the pocket. I flipped the pocket over and shook it well to spread the jewels, and finally I folded the last tab to close the pocket.

I added some 3mm glue dots at the back of the bursting hearts panel and attached it to the shaker pocket. I white heat embossed my sentiment "Sending you winter hugs" from Bear Hugs on black cardstock, trimmed it into a small banner, and attached it, along with the bear couple, in the middle of the panel using foam squares. I finished my card by attaching my panel on a light blue card base, and as always I added highlights on the images using a white gel pen.

Lawn Fawn - Edge to Edge Slimline Shaker Card

mardi 25 janvier 2022

 Hey there,

I'm super happy to be back with this Lawn Fawn edge to edge shaker card showcasing the Lots of hearts background stencils and two cute snowmen from Making frosty friends.

I stamped my cute snowmen and accessories using jet black ink, cut the images using the coordinating dies and then used my alcohol markers to color everything.

I cut a bristol panel measuring 8,5 x 3,5 inches, and the first thing I did was to create a nice and even base using spun sugar distress ink. And next I added a million hearts on this panel using the Lots of hearts stencils along with worn lipstick and festive distress inks.

Once the entire panel was covered with hearts, I mixed a few drops of copic white ink with water and used a small brush to add a few drops all over the paper. And I also mixed some candied apple distress ink with water to add more splatters.

I took some packaging from my stash and cut the four sides off to get rid of the seams and get one single sheet of plastic. I added double sided tape on the four edges, and placed my panel right in the middle, and while keeping the panel in place with my left hand, I cut the four corners off the plastic sheet.

Next I flipped the panel over and made sure that it was centered between the corners (that are not corners anymore ^^) I peeled the backing papers off three of the four tabs, and attached those tabs at the back of my panel.

Through the last open side, I poured a shaker mix inside the pocket: heart confetti, tiny shiny heart confetti and clear jewels. I closed the pocket by folding and attaching the last tab at the back of the panel, and then I white heat embossed my sentiment on a chili pepper banner.

I also die cut Be my valentine twice: out of pixie dust cardstock and out of ballet slippers cardstock, I layered both pieces on top of each other, and then attached that giant sentiment in the middle of my shaker panel using glue dots. I attached the chili pepper banner right below, and then I attached each snowman on the sides.

I added highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen, cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches card base out of ballet slippers cardstock, and finally I attached the shaker pocket on top using double sided tape.

Sunny Studio - Heart Window Shaker Card

jeudi 20 janvier 2022

Hey there,

I'm back with this slimline shaker card featuring the Stitched Heart 2 die set and more birds from Little Birdie by Sunny Studio. Last week, they were tropical blue birds, well today, they're canaries!

I did the background first. I cut an 8,5 x 3,5" bristol panel, and used a cloud stencil from my stash along with tumbled glass distress ink to create a cloudy sky. And when it was done, I cut three windows out of this cloudy panel using the second die from the Stitched Heart 2 die set.

Next I cut a yellow card base, placed my three heart window panel on top, and I attached each die cut heart on the matching window. I applied liquid glue at the back of the three window panel and attached a large piece of acetate. And then I created dimension and room for the shaker accessories using foam strips at the back of the three window panel. I poured a rainbow mix inside each heart window, and then placed the card base on top to finally close and complete my shaker panel.

I stamped my images using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them all using the coordinating dies and colored everything using my alcohol markers. And once I was done with the coloring, I attached the images on my three window cloudy panel using foam squares and liquid glue.

I white heat embossed a banner and sentiment from Little Birdie on vellum, and attached it using two tiny dots of liquid glue. And finally I brought a touch of shine by glueing some clear droplets.

And that's it! I hope that you like this new super cute shaker card. Don't hesitate to watch the video for more details, and I'll see you next week with a new project!

Sunny Studio - Lovey Dovey & Little Birdie

jeudi 13 janvier 2022

Hello there,

I'm super happy to be back for Sunny Studio with this lovely card showcasing two stamp sets from the new release: Little Birdie that features the cutest birds, and Lovey Dovey that includes sweet sentiments.

I started by stamping and cutting all the images using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, and I used my alcohol markers to color everything. Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches bristol panel to create the background. And I didn't want it to compete with the images and sentiment, so I went with a soft pink cloudy sky using a cloud stencil along with spun sugar and kitsch flamingo distress inks.

I white heat embossed my sentiment "You're so lovely" on a dark pink cardstock and cut it using the coordinating die, and then I attached all my cute images and sentiment on the cloudy panel using 1mm foam squares.

Once everything was attached, I stamped a few hearts here and there using worn lipstick oxide ink, and then I glued a bunch of tiny heart confetti to bring shine and sparkle to this lovely card. I attached my panel on a light pink card base, and as always I finished my card by adding highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

Lawn Fawn - Love Potion Shaker Card

mardi 11 janvier 2022

 Hey there,

For my first Lawn Fawn card of the year, I was inspired by the Strawberry cocktail shaker card I made last summer. I had a lot of fun making that card back then, so I thought it would be fun to create a Valentine card following the same process. This time my card features two cute skunks drinking a love potion.

I started by stamping all the images using jet black ink, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all, and then colored everything using my spectrum noir markers and graph'it brush markers. And I went with red and pink for the traditional valentine colors, and purple for a touch of mystic and magic. And once all my images were colored, I glued a bow and wiggly eyes on each skunk.

Next I created the love potion, and I invite you to watch the video down below to see exactly how it was made. That kind of process is more easily comprehensible with images ^^

Once the love potion was finished, I cut the lid and colored it using brown markers, and I attached it at the top of the jar. To add an extra cute detail, I added to add some twine around the lid. And to label this potion, I cut a tag out of sugarplum cardstock and a small heart out of chili pepper cardstock. I attached the heart in the middle of the purple tag, and I stuck that tag on the jar.

For the background I first cut a quilted heart panel out of sugarplum cardstock, and used the simple stripe landscape backdrop die to cut planks out of this quilted heart panel. To make the pieces less flat, I added wilted violet distress ink on the four edges of each pieces, and then I added some texture to those elements. I mixed some wilted violet distress ink with water to create lots of splatters on my purple pieces, and to bring a little bit of contrast, I mixed a few drops of copic opaque white ink with water and added more splatters.

For the bottom part of the background, I cut a simple rectangle out of grey woodgrain cardstock, and added a little bit of black soot distress ink on the edges.

I started by attaching the five purple planks on a 5,5 x 4,25". I white heat embossed my sentiment "I only have eyes for you" on a black banner and then I assembled and stuck everything on the quilted heart panel: the woodgrain panel at the bottom first, next the banner, the jar right in the middle and then the cute skunk couple and all the sweet images.

I attached my panel on a red card base, and as always I finished my card with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.
