Sunny Studio - Chubby Bunny Easter Card

jeudi 23 février 2023

Hello there,

I'm super happy to be back on Sunny Studio's blog today with some cute bunnies & chicks from Chubby Bunny celebrating Easter! I'm so glad I got to color those images, they're all just so adorable!

I wanted to fit as many bunnies, chicks & eggs as I could on my card so I went for a slimline format. I cut an 8,5" x 3,5" bristol panel, and used stencils along with oxide inks to create a lovely spring landscape: shabby shutters + mowed lawn for the hills, and tumbled glass + salty ocean for the sky.

Next I stamped all my images on white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers: brown for the bunnies, yellow for the chicks, and rainbow for the eggs & "Happy Easter" banner.

Here's the sets I used:
Chubby Bunny for the bunnies, chicks, baskets, eggs & banner
Garden Critters for the grass
Bunnyville for the butterflies
Passionate Penguins for the bows
Chickie Baby for more eggs

Once all my cute images were colored, I attached them on my slimline panel using 1mm foam squares, and as always I finished my card by adding highlights & details on the images using a white gel pen.

Sunny Studio - Pawesome Birthday Pop-Up Card

jeudi 16 février 2023

Hi there,

I'm so glad to be back on Sunny Studio's blog with this pawesome birthday pop-up card showcasing the most adorable dogs from Party Pups, as well as the Spring Fever paper pack that I used to create my landscape.

I started off by stamping all the images on white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers. I picked all the dogs + birthday cake + balloons + party hats from Party Pups, as well as the chicken coop from Clucky Chickens to create a cute doghouse (the paw print I stamped on it comes from Party Pups) I went for neutral shades to color the dogs, and for rainbow colors to color the balloons & party hats to make the card even more festive.

Next I cut all the different elements to build the pop-up card. I cut the base pieces using kraft cardstock, and chose pattern papers to decorate the inside and outside: the grass paper + sky paper + yellow dotted paper are from the Spring Fever paper pack, and the red gingham paper is from the Joyful Holiday paper pack.

I white heat embossed my "Woofing you a happy birthday" greeting from Party Pups on the yellow dotted banner, and I added highlights & details on the images using a white gel pen. Next I assembled the different pieces and built the pop-up card, and then I finally attached the images on the grass border using 3mm glue dots.

Sunny Studio - Wonderful (interactive) Window

jeudi 9 février 2023

Hey there,

I'm thrilled to be back on Sunny Studio's blog with this adorable interactive card showcasing the beautiful Wonderful Windows die set that I immediately pictured with a brick wall and a kitty when I first saw it.

I first started by stamping a kitty from Purrfect Birthday as well as several branches from Little Birdie on white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. As always I used the coordinating dies to cut them all, and then colored everything using my alcohol markers.

Next I cut the main panel out of bristol cardstock, added details using a brick stencil along with salvaged patina and peacock feathers oxide inks, and then I built the interactive feature, using vellum to create the window, and a Spring Fever pink floral pattern paper + a small piece of woodgrain cardstock to make the inside of the room.

And then I cut the different pieces to build the window + window box. I used white woodgrain cardstock for the window itself, and plain colored cardstock for the other pieces, but used a Spring Fever green dotted pattern paper to make the curtains. I attached them all on the brick panel, and then stamped my "Hoping your day is pawsome" greeting from Garden Fairy + Purrfect Birthday below the window.

Finally I attached my interactive panel on a simple textured yellow panel, and then on a Dots & Stripes Pastels polka dotted purple panel, and as always I finished my card by adding highlights on the images using a white gel pen.

Sunny Studio - Rainy Days Infinity Shaker Card

jeudi 2 février 2023

Hello there,

I'm back on Sunny Studio's blog today with this happy and cheerful slimline infinity shaker card showcasing the adorable Rainy Days from the new Spring 2023 collection. I started off by cutting an 8,5" x 4,5" bristol panel, and I used a cloud stencil along with tumbled glass and salty ocean oxide inks to create a very simple background.

Next I created the infinity shaker pocket. I cut a plastic sleeve (like the ones we put in binders for school) to get a single sheet of plastic. I added double sided tape on the four edges of that plastic sheet, I placed my cloudy panel in the middle of it, and while keeping the panel in place with my left hand, I cut the four plastic corners off, and this way created four plastic tabs on each side of the cloudy panel. I folded and attached three of those tabs at the back of the cloudy panel, poured a million iridescent confetti inside the plastic pocket, and then folded and attached the remaining tab to totally close the pocket.

Next I cut the different elements using Rainy Days. I cut the base of the umbrellas out of white cardstock. For the handle I used a light grey cardstock. And for the top and main part, I cut two types of papers: plain colored cardstock, and Spring Fever pattern papers. I assembled the colorful top pieces, as well as the handles on the plain white umbrellas, and once my five umbrellas were complete, I attached them on the shaker panel using 1mm foam squares. And to bring even more sparkles to this card, I cut and attached some gold glitter clouds using dies from the Tropical Trees Backdrop die set.

And then I asked myself "What could I add to bring more cuteness to those umbrellas?" And I thought that smiley faces would be fun. So I searched my entire collection of Sunny Studio die sets, and came across the Nutty For You die set that includes small dies to create cute faces. So I cut those five smiles and five pairs of eyes out of black cardstock, and glued them all on the umbrellas.

For my greeting, I started by cutting a red banner using a die from the Stitched Rectangle die set. I white heat embossed the phrase "Showering you with love" from Spring Showers, and I attached that banner using foam squares again. And last but not least, I added white highlights to the umbrella's eyes to kind of give them more personality.
