Holiday Card Series 2016 - Hello 2017 - Shaker Cards w/ fuse tool (mass production)

Hello there!

Because we can't get enough sparkles, I've decided to make some new shaker cards, but this time using my fuse tool. And I have to say that it was very fun to use.

I first started by picking my favorite holiday vellum papers from Stampin Up. Then I created pockets using for the first time my fuse tool and some regular plastic sheet protectors. I made sure that my pockets were a tiny bit smaller than my vellum papers.

To fill my pockets, I used a bunch of sequins, stars and beads.

I stamped "2017" on some white cardstock using versamark ink and heat embossed using gold, silver, red and black embossing powders. And I cut each "2017" using a banner die.

Then I started building my cards. I first attached the vellum papers to white card bases, and then attached on top of each one my pockets. I added masking tape pieces at the top and bottom; it helps to hide the dougle sided tape and brings more sparkles!

I attached my little "2017" banners using double sided tape, built the "hellos" and glued them above the banners.

Holiday Card Series 2016 - Festive Background

Hey there!

For this card, I wanted to create a background using exclusively Lawn Fawn stamps, so I gathered everything I liked and started stamping all the images on watercolor paper using black waterproof ink. Then I grabbed my distress inks and painted everything in a kind of whimsical way.

To be able to see the background, I stamped my sentiment on vellum using versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder. To frame it perfectly, I cut my sentiment using a banner die, and attached it to my panel.

To frame my sentiment even more and to add another festive touch, I attached some ribbon and tied a knot using some gold thread with three little golden bells.

Newton's Nook - Hello from NYC

Hey there!

Here is a card I made using for the time a product from Newton's Nook: the "Newton dreams of New York" stamp set. I love this stamp set, I think it's so fun and pretty! And I love this city so...

I first started by stamping my background on watercolor paper using black waterproof ink and almost all the images included in the stamp set. Then I die cut a rectangle in that background and started coloring everything using distress inks.

I also stamped the cat on watercolor paper, cut the image using my Big Shot and the coordinating die and colored it using distress inks. I think he's so cute with his t-shirt saying I ❤ NY!

To create my sentiment, I die cut the word hello three times and glued the three pieces together to get more dimension.

Then I attached everything: my cat to a vellum circle using foam squares, the vellum to the background using liquid glue just behind the cat so it wouldn't show, and my sentiment in front of the cat using foam squares and liquid glue.

I attached the whole panel to some navy blue cardstock using double sided tape, and to finish the card, I put some enamel dots here and there.

Holiday Card Series 2016 - Winter Birdie

Hello there!

Here is a quite simple and quick card I made using the beautiful Color Layering Cardinal stamp set from Hero Arts. All their "Color Layering" stamp sets are so beautiful, I need to buy more!

I first started by stamping my images using the Misti tool to make sure everything was perfectly aligned. I didn't stamp the first layer of the cardinal because I wanted to kind of lighten it and get a bright result.

Then I applied and blended distress inks in order to create my background, and splattered water all over it to kind of get a snow effect.

To know exactly where I wanted to stamp my sentiment, I first glued the branch, and then gold heat embossed my sentiment. I attached my cardinal using foam squares and added some clear droplets to finish the card.

Holiday Card Series 2016 - Hello 2017 - Shaker Cards (mass production)

Hey there!

Here are five shaker cards I made using the same plan for each one but with different colors.

I first cut "2017" from several cardstock using dies from Stampin Up! These dies are perfect! Big enough to see the inside of the cards!

To frame my numbers and add some interest, I used stitched line dies from My Favorite Things. Then I cut pieces of acetate and glued them behind each panel using double sided tape.

To create the dimension that we need for a shaker card, I used foam tape that I folded on itself to give more room to my shaker material. And to close the card, I attached a piece of cardstock and voilà the shaker card is done!

I glued the inside of the zero, and die cut the word Hello from several mirror cardstocks that I attached on the front panel to finish the card.

Holiday Card Series 2016 - Decorating the tree

Hey there!

Here is another winter scene I made using one of my favorite Lawn Fawn stamp set from this year release.

I first started by stamping all my images on watercolor paper using my Misti tool to save some time, colored them using distress inks (my favorite coloring technique) and cut them using the coordinating dies.

I started to build my scene, and for that I used pop-up dies in order to add dimension to my card. Then I attached the "floor", the "rug" and the "wallpaper" using double sided tape. And to add more interest, I glued a "baseboard" and some lace ribbon. To mask the holes behind by the pop-ups, I glued a piece of the same plaid paper.

Then I gathered all my images and glued them together: the decorations and the presents on the Christmas tree, a squirrel on the ladder, and the deer, a squirrel and the bird holding the star. I added some sparkle on the Christmas tree decorations, the gifts' ribbons and the little red hat using glitter pens.

To make the whole card cleaner and steady, I attached the panel on some heavy craft cardstock.

To create my sentiment, I gold heat embossed one part on some dark brown cardstock and stamped the other part directly on the "floor" using black ink.

Finally, I made the closing for my card. I stamped my images on watercolor paper, colored them using distress inks and used a stitched circle to frame everything. I die cut a scalloped circle from dark brown paper to make a nice border. Finally, I glued the whole piece on a craft strip that I attached around my card.

SSS October Card Kit - Golden Squirrels

Hey there!

Here is a card I made a while ago using the October Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp. I loved everything about this kit: the plaid papers, the squirrel stamps and those cute little acorns.

As always, or almost always, I first started by cutting rectangles from different papers: one from craft cardstock, one from dark brown paper (included in the kit) and one from plaid paper (included in the kit). And then from this last two rectangles, I cut some kind of round shapes.

I used my Misti tool to make sure my little squirrel stamps (included in the kit) were positioned perfectly straight, and then gold heat embossed them; I think gold and autumn colors go very well together.

I attached the plaid piece and the dark brown piece to the craft base. And then I punched two pieces from white paper and from gold mirror paper to create a little frame for my sentiment. I attached gold thread using mini glue dots and glued my frame on top of it using foam squares.

Attached everything on some heavy white cardstock, glued a little acorn (included in the kit) between the two squirrels and added a bunch of gold sequins to finish the card.

Holiday Card Series 2016 - Holidays in Paris

Hey there!

Here is a new city skyline holiday card I made using a die I found at my local craft store and a thing I had never used before: masking paper.

I first started by cuting different things: a rectangle from watercolor paper, and three Paris skylines using a die from Marianne Design. I love this die so much, I think it's so beautiful!

I die cut a circle from masking paper and attached it where I wanted the moon to be placed. Then I applied my distress inks to create my night sky, and splattered my paper with silver liquid ink to make the illusion of falling snow.

Removing the masking paper was my favorite part during the process, I really love how it turned out!

I glued together the three skyline pieces and attached the whole piece to the background, and as the background was a textured paper, I used my Misti tool to stamp Santa twice to get a nice result.

I glued together three black stitched scallop border and cut a black glitter one using the same die to build the frame. I attached everything on black cardstock, and finally silver heat embossed my sentiment into the card.
