Holiday Card Series w/ Lawn Fawn - Peas on Earth

 Hey there,

It's that time of the month again, it's Lawn Fawn inspiration week and today the design team is showcasing Peas on Earth!

For this card I started by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25" panel, as well as two wavy borders, all out of Strathmore bristol cardstock. I colored the sky using tattered rose and ripe persimmon distress inks, and used tattered rose only to add a tiny bit of contrast to those borders.

Like always texture was added. On the sky section: water drops, splatters of ripe persimmon and liquid stardust. On the borders: splatters of tattered rose.

I stamped my images on 80lbs Neenah solar white cardstock using jet black and used my alcohol markers to color them. All the supplies are listed at the end of this blog post.

Once the coloring was done, I assembled everything on my panel using double sided tape for the borders, and foam squares for the images.

The next step was to create my sentiment. I started by stamping "Let there be" and "on Earth" from Peas on Earth using jet black ink. I cut the word "Peas" out of a pattern paper from Let it shine using the Finley's ABCs die set, and attached the letters between the already stamped words.

I used a white gel pen on the images to make them pop a little bit more and finally added a few clear sequins on the section to bring some more sparkly details to the card.

Holiday Card Series w/ Hello Bluebird - All Is Calm, All Is Bright

Hello there,

I'm so glad to be back for Hello Bluebird with a winter wonderland slimline card.

I started by cutting my background elements out of Strathmore bristol wmooth cardstock: a panel measuring 8-1/8 x 3,5" and also some hill borders that I cut using the Ocean Waves Scene Horizontal die. And the distress inks I used to create my winter sky are tumbled glass, shaded lilac and wilted violet.

Next I splattered water on the paper to create texture, I also made the sky super shiny using liquid stardust by Lawn fawn all over the panel, and then, to bring contrast to the sky I mixed some wilted violet, tumbled glass and chipped sapphire distress inks with water and used a thin brush to create tiny drops on my paper.

For the hills, I wanted to keep them pretty simple so I just applied a tiny bit of tumbled glass and blueprint sketch distress inks on the top edge of each element.

Once everything was dry, I assembled the borders on my sky panel, starting from the bottom and using liquid glue.

Next I stamped and cut my images from Snowball Fight, Frosty Littles and Christmas is coming. And like always I used my alcohol markers to color everything.

When the coloring was done, I attached the trees and the house on the background using foam squares, and before sticking the remaining images, I wanted to bring more sparkles to the trees so I started by applying liquid glue on those images and next I sprinkled fine glitter on the glue.

And then I attached the remaining critters using foam squares again. Finally I placed my panel in my misti tool and stamped my sentiment "All is calm, all is bright" from Quiet Christmas using black versafine ink.

Holiday Card Series w/ Lawn Fawn - How To Build a Gingerbread House Candle Decoration

 Hey there,

I'm so glad to be back with a cute gingerbread house which is also a candle decoration. This house was super easy to make, it just took some die cutting and a little bit of inking to create it.

I started by cutting the base using the Shadow Box Card die set and Paper Bag cardstock.

Next I cut two house fronts out of Kraft cardstock using the Build A House die set. And to create a door opening and a window opening on those facades I used dies from the Build A House Gingerbread House addon.

To create the house I also needed side walls so I cut two rectangles measuring 3,25 x 2,75" and used a die from Build A House to create window openings on those two elements.

Next I added some texture to the two front pieces and two side walls because those elements looked definitely too flat to me. So I applied some vintage photo distress ink on the edges of those four walls using a blending tool, and then I added drops of vintage photo. I first smooshed my vintage photo ink pad onto my glass surface and added water to create splatters on the four wall pieces.

To hide the inside of the house, I attached pieces of vellum at the back of each wall. And next I finally decorated my four gingerbread walls using dies from Build A House, Build A House Christmas add-on and Build A House Gingerbread House add-on.

I cut pieces out of Paper Bag cardstock, Pixie Dust cardstock, Red Shimmery cardstock, and also pattern papers from Snow Day remix and Let It Shine.

Once the four walls were decorated, I created holes in both base panels. I assembled those two pieces, and next I used liquid glue to stick the four gingerbread walls on the base.

The final step was to create a roof for my house. I cut a rectangle out of Red Shimmery cardstock measuring 3,76 x 3,5" and I glued scallop details on top of it. And to add more sparkles to that roof I cut a slightly bigger roof out of Pixie Dust cardstock and I made the edges more interesting by using a Stitched Scalloped Border die. And next I glued the roofs. The white shiny one first and then the red one on top.

Next I created two identical banners using a Simple Wavy Banner die along with a sentiment from Winter Wavy Sayings. I white heat embossed my sentiment on a Paper Bag banner, I attached that banner on a Pixie Dust one and then I stuck the elements on each side of the house.

Finally I used a white gel pen to add highlights on some parts of the house, and also applied glossy accents on the candy canes to make those elements super shiny.

And that's is, my gingerbread house is done and I think it would be fun to create more of these, with different colors to create a cute village. So here's the house with all the lights on,

Spooky Card Series w/ Not 2 Shabby - Critter Costume Party 2

 Hello there,

Here is my second card as a guest designer for Not 2 Shabby, it features all the cute images from the Critter Costume Party stamp set and to be able to include all of them, I created a slimline card.

I started by cutting a slimline panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock and I colored that panel using spun sugar, picked raspberry, wilted violet and black soot distress inks. I created texture by splattering water on the paper first, next I mixed picked raspberry, wilted violet and black soot inks with water in order to create drops on my panel using a thin brush, and finally I used liquid stardust to make my background super sparkly.

I stamped the images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink, next I cut them all using my Scan 'n cut machine, and I colored everything using my alcohol markers.

When the coloring was done, I attached my purple panel on a black card base, and I stamped my sentiment "Trick or treats" in the top middle of my panel using black Versafine ink. And finally I added a few morning dew drops here and there to make the background even more splarkly.

Holiday Card Series w/ Lawn Fawn - Magic Iris Snow Globe Polar Bear Card

 Hey there,

It’s still inspiration week at Lawn Fawn and today the design team is showcasing the Magic Iris Snow Globe Add-on, a super fun addition to the Magic Iris die set and perfect for Christmas and the holidays, but not only.

To showcase this new die set, I brought the polar bear family again. They’re waiting for Santa Bear to come and they’re even offering him a fish and a glass of milk so he doesn’t get hungry during the presents delivery journey.

Lawn Fawn - Magic Picture Changer Oven Thanksgiving Card

 Hi there,

It's inspiration week at Lawn Fawn and today the design team is showcasing "A creature was stirring" along with the "Magic Picture Changer Oven add-on". This new stamp set contains Christmas themed images but the mice are neutral so I decided to make a Thanksgiving card.

I stamped the images using jet black ink, cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers. When the coloring was done, I moved on to the magic picture changer mechanism and I cut two pieces of strathmore bristol cardstock: a long one for the pocket die and a short one for the moving piece die. I marked the windows with a pencil and then I placed the long panel in my misti tool.

I stamped and masked the pie and the tray, and used hickory smoke distress ink to create the inside of the oven. I removed the masks, and because of those masks some lines were not connected so I used my memento marker to connect everything.

Next I used the same images and a third one on the small panel. I stamped the cream first, next the pie and then the tray. I used masks again to cover the images, and hickory smoke distress ink to create the inside of the oven on that panel as well, just like the long panel.

And next I used my alcohol markers to color the images on both panels.

Once the images were done, I added white highlights, taped the dies on the panels and sent everything to my die cutting machine. I folded the pocket panel in half right on the score line, and I folded the tabs as well, I applied thin double sided tape on those tabs, inside the panel and outside as well, removed the backing paper off the tabs on the inside, and I folded those tabs to attach them inside the panel.

Next I applied a lot of powder inside the pocket panel on the flaps, along the tabs as well, and also at the back of the moving piece. And I used my bone folder to make the edges softer. Sometimes the dies can create harsh lines so doing this really help to make the magic picture changer work easier.

Next I put the moving piece into the pocket panel through the slot, and I put each little flap into a slot. I pulled on the moving piece to interlock everything, made sure that the moving piece was lined up between the tabs, removed the backing paper off the tabs, and finally closed the pocket panel to complete the magic picture changer pocket.

Next I moved on to the background and created a very simple brick wall on a 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel. I taped the brick wall stencil on top of that panel and used scattered straw distress ink to create my wall, and next I used the same ink watered down to create some texture on my brick wall.

For the oven, I cut all the pieces out of shimmery cardboard, white cardstock and also gold mirror cardstock using the new "Magic Picture Changer Oven Add-on", and I assembled everything easily and quickly.

For the kitchen floor, I attached a piece of wood pattern paper from the "Into the woods" paper pack, and stuck the oven on top using double sided foam tape. I also added two burners on top of the oven, and next I attached my sentiment. It was white heat embossed on paper bag cardstock and cut using a die from "Everyday Sentiment Banners".

Next I attached all my images using foam squares again and also glue dots, and when it was done, I added white highlights on the images, also added a few autumn leaves here and there to fill up the space and finally attached a rainbow handle with a golden arrow at the top of the pull tab.
