Hello Bluebird - New Release Preview Day 3 - Winter Skate & Snow Globe Builder

 Hey there,

It is release day! All the new stamp and die sets will be available later today 7pm MST at Hello Bluebird, so I'm back with more inspiration for you showcasing the adorable new 'Winter skate' stamp set, as well as the new 'Snow globe builder', and the new 'Slimline skating pond' die.

I stamped and cut my images, and colored them using my alcohol markers.

Once the coloring was done, I cut six snow globes. Three out of bristol cardstock to do the ink blending, and three out of white cardstock to create snow borders. And I also cut some trees using the 'Slimline skating pond' die.

So I started with the snow borders. I took a white snow globe inside piece and used the three small border dies from the set to cut this inside element in four pieces. I got rid of the top part and did the same thing with the two other snow globe inside pieces.

Next I took the bristol snow globe inside pieces and created the backgrounds using tattered rose, festive berries and aged mahogany distress inks. I added texture to those elements, starting with some water droplets, and next I poured some copic opaque white ink on my glass surface, added water to it, and then used a small brush to create a lot of snow on the three snow globe panels.

I also added a little bit of shadows to the snow borders and trees by applying tattered rose distress ink on the edges.

Next I cut three plain white snow globes, and assembled all the pieces on top each one of them. Once everything was attached, I cut three simple white card base measuring 4 x 3,5", and from those card bases I created three snow globe card bases: I placed the plain snow globe die on the card base, and made sure that the die was sticking out at the top. I sent them to the die cutting machine and did the same thing with the two other card bases. Next I attached each snow globe panel on a card base. And finally I cut three bows out of red cardstock that I stuck at the top each snow globe.

As always I finished the cards by adding highlights and details on the images and on the background as well using a white gel pen.

Hello Bluebird - New Release Preview Day 2 - Sweet Christmas

Hey there,friends,

I'm back with more Hello Bluebird new release inspiration, all the new products will be available tomorrow friday 29th at 7pm MST, and today I'm showcasing the new 'Sweet Christmas' stamp set, which is another big stamp set that includes a gingerbread house, many cute gingerbread people and accessories to decorate the house. I also used the 'Gallery frame #6' and a die from 'Hill and dale'.

I started by stamping the images using extreme black ink by my favorite things, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all and then my alcohol markers to color everything, and for this card I went with browns of course to color the gingerbread people, and I added red and pink accents on the candy and tree cookies as well.

Once the coloring was done, I used the Gallery frame #6 to cut two frames out kraft cardstock. I added more interest, more cookie effect to those frames by applying vintage photo distress ink on the edges of both pieces. And to give those frames some kind of a cookie texture, I smooshed my vintage photo ink pad onto my glass surface, I added a little bit of water to the ink and then created lots of tiny splatters on both frames using a small brush.

Next I used the Gallery frame die again to cut a white frame, I only kept the three middle sections, and from those pieces I cut three small snow borders.

I also cut three more middle sections out of a light grey pattern paper, and then I assembled all the elements on a 5,5 x 4,25" card base. I started by placing both frames on the card base, and I used them as a guide to stick the light grey rectangles and well as the snow borders. Next I attached lots of foam squares at the back of each frame, and I stuck both frames on the card base. For the middle frame I used 1mm foam squares, and the big frame I used 3mm foam squares.

And then I attached all my cute images on the card base using a combination of liquid glue, foam squares and glue dots. One of the final steps was to create my sentiment. I white heat embossed it on the same kraft cardstock as the frames and created the same cookie texture as well, I stuck in the middle of the panel, and then I added white details on the images: highlights, dots on the pink trees to make icing, and cross details and dots on the candy to create some kind of a frosty and shiny effect.

Holiday Card Series w/ Sunny Studio - Gingerbread House Shaker Card

Hello there,

I'm back today with a cute and colorful shaker card for Sunny Studio showcasing the Gingerbread house die set. And I also used the wreath and bow dies from the Sweet treat house add-on die set and two Icing border dies to help me decorate the house.

I cut all the bits and pieces using a pink + green + blue combination, some were cut using sparkling white cardstock to create the icing, and I picked a kraft paper to create the gingerbread cookie.

To emphasize the gingerbread cookie effect, I applied vintage photo distress ink on the house edges. And then to add a cookie texture, I smooshed my vintage photo ink pad onto my glass surface, added a bit of water to the ink and then used a small brush to splatter small droplets on the house. And for a bit of contrast and more cookie texture, I mixed some copic opaque white ink with a drop of water to create more splatters on the house.

Once the house was dry, I glued it on a piece of cardstock, and then I assembled all the other elements: roof, windows, icing pieces, candy, etc. using liquid glue.

Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25" panel out of a pink pattern paper from the Very Merry 6x6 paper pack. I also cut a white frame, and glued that frame on vellum. The vellum will mute the shaker background so it won't steal the gingerbread house thunder but we will still be able to see the shaker material.

I trimmed the vellum around the frame, and applied foam strips at the back of that frame, on the four edges. And to keep the shaker material away from those foam strips, I applied powder all along the foam edges. This way the sequins and beads won't stick to the foam.

I cleaned the vellum window using a microfiber cloth, and then added the shaker material into the window: white beads, clear sequins, and a bunch of small pink jewels. I peeled the backing paper off the foam strips, and placed my pink panel directly on those foam strips to close the shaker panel.

Next I stuck the gingerbread house in the middle of the vellum panel using liquid glue, and also added more decorative pieces at the top of the house using foam squares.

For the last final details, I cut two sparkling white Lacy snowflakes, cut a kraft banner using a die from Stitched Rectangle and white heat embossed my sentiment from Christmas Cookies on top of it. I also white heat embossed two gingerbread cuties from Christmas Cookies on kraft cardstock, and I created the same texture on those elements as the one on the house.

I attached those gingerbread cuties on both sides of the house using foam squares, stuck the banner on the roof, and then the snowflakes on both sides of the roof.

And finally, I added some details around the house, directly on the vellum, using a white gel pen, and brought more shine and sparkles by adding a dot of glossy accents on each little circle below the roof, and glitter on the candy at the bottom of the house.

Holiday Card Series w/ Lawn Fawn - Double Slider Surprise Tree Farm Card

 Hey there,

I am so happy to be back with a new super cute and fun Lawn Fawn holiday scene. Today I take you go to a tree farm outside the city to choose a big and fluffy Christmas tree. As always my card features a whole bunch of images from different sets so feel more than welcome to check the video or the list of supplies down below for more details.

I started by stamping all my images using jet black ink and I cut them all using the coordinating dies. And before coloring everything, I stamped two tiny friends in the car using the masking technique.

Once the coloring was done, I cut the pieces to build my double slider surprise: one pocket panel and the small panels out of pattern paper and the second pocket panel out of peacock cardstock. And I also cut wavy borders out of white cardstock to create snow borders.

On the pocket panel, I wanted to add a path, so I placed the car on the snow border and I used it as a guide to mark where I wanted that path to be using a pencil. I used those pencil marks to mask the left and right sides of the snow border and created a simple path using hickory smoke distress ink.

Once the path was dry, I stuck the snow border with the path on the pocket panel and stuck the two other snow borders on the small panels. And next I created the douvle slider surprise mechanism, so I invite you to watch the process video down below to see how it was made ^^

Once the double slider surprise element was done and all the images were attached, I moved on to the card base, and cut a 5,5 x 4,25" rectangle out of mermaid cardstock, and to add more interest to this panel I sent it to my die cutting machine along with the Stitched snowflake backdrop.

I cut a mermaid card base, a small scallop panel out of vellum and I assembled those pieces. I stuck the double slider surprise pocket on the vellum panel using two layers of foam tape, next the snowflake backdrop on the card base using double sided sticky tape, and then the vellum and pocket on the snowflake backdrop using liquid glue.

I created a simple sentiment that I white heat embossed on a piece of raspberry cardstock, I cut it into a banner and attached it above the tree border using foam squares.

And one last final thing: I added handles to be able to pull the small panels, and as always I added lots of highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Hello Bluebird - New Release Preview Day 1 - Gnome for the Holidays

 Hi there,

Are you ready for the new Hello Bluebird release? All the new products will be available at the store on Friday 29th at 7pm MST so I'm super happy to be back with some holiday and winter inspiration showcasing the adorable Gnome for the holidays stamp set that is a big stamp set that includes many cute gnomes, a mushroom house and lots of images to create a lovely winter scene,

On this card I also the new Half circle nesting die set and Slimline hill and Dale die set.

As always I started by stamping all the images using extreme black ink by My Favorite Things, I cut them all using the coordinating dies and then used my alcohol markers to color everything. And I went with a Scandinavian theme, so I kept everything pretty neutral, using shades of beige, with some red accents.

For the hats, I didn't want them to be plain red, so I stamped each gnome a second time on red pattern papers. I used the same beige shades as before to add more shadows and details on those hats. Next I fussy cut those three little hats.  And to hide the white edges I used my black memento pen to go along those edges. And then I glued each little hat on the matching gnome. And I did the same process for the snowman scarf.

Next I moved on to the background, and to create a snowy sky, I cut an 8,5 x 3,5" panel, I cut it in half, and then used the snowy sky scene die to create snow on both panels.

To create the snow globe frame, I used the first and second largest dies from the Half circle nesting die set. I also cut a white half circle using the second largest die and then from that half circle I cut a snow border.

And next I assembled all those elements and the images as well on an 8,5 x 3,5" white panel.: the snowy skies, a slimline mountain border, the slimline snow border, the snow globe frame, the small snow border, and the bottom of the snow globe where I white heat embossed my sentiment. And finally, I just added lots of white details and highlights on the images.

Holiday Card Series w/ Sunny Studio - Edge to Edge Shaker Card

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back with an easy shaker card showcasing Santa who is experiencing a new way to deliver the Christmas presents this year!

Usually I like to create busy scenes with lots of images, but this time I went with a very few, and everything is listed down below ^^ I stamped my images using extreme black ink by My Favorite Things, I cut them all using the coordinating dies and then colored everything using my alcohol markers.

Once the coloring was done, I cut a light grey panel measuring 5,25 x 4", and took a plastic sleeve from stash. I cut the flap at the top of that sleeve, as well as the seams on the three other edges. I ended up with two plastic sheets, I kept on of those and applied strong double sided tape on the four edges.

I placed my grey panel in the middle of the plastic sheet, and cut the four corners off. Next I removed three of the backing papers, and folded the flaps to stick them at the back of my panel. I filled my pocket with some accessories: polymer clay peppermint candy, gems, clear sequins, some shiny red sequins, and a million tiny stars.

When I was happy with my shaker mix, I shaked the pocket to spread the sequins inside of it, and I closed the sleeve by folding the remaining flap. Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25" white card base, and attached my shaker panel on top using liquid glue.

I assembled the hot air balloon and the banner, and placed Santa inside the basket, and I stuck those pieces on the shaker panel using foam squares, along with my sentiment "Season's Greetings" that I heat embossed on white cardstock using silver embossing powder.

Finally I added hightlights on the images using a white gel pen, and then cut some snowflakes out of white glitter cardstock that I attached around the balloon.

Holiday Card Series w/ Sunny Studio - Magical Holiday Express

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back with a Sunny Studio magical scene featuring a cute train on its way to deliver lots of presents and treats for Christmas, this new card features lots of images from Holiday Express, as well as one of the banners from Balloon ridesthe candy canes from Penguin palsand the pine tree border from Winter scenes.

I started with the background, and cut an 8,5 x 4,25" bristol panel. And I created a bright and magical sky using cracked pistachio, peacock feathers and wilted violet oxide inks. I also added some texture to make that sky more interesting: water droplets, liquid stardust by Lawn Fawn, some Copic opaque white droplets and lots of chipped sapphire oxide ink + water splatters.

I set the panel aside to dry and then stamped my images using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all and as always I used my alcohol markers to color everything, and because the sky was pretty bright and colorful, I kept the locomotive and the wagons very neutral and colored those elements using grey shades.

Next I assembled and attached the images on the panel, starting with the tree borders at the bottom using foam squares, and then all the other images as well floating above the trees.

To create the sentiment, I used stamps from Holiday Express, I heat embossed the phrase on a strip of vellum using silver embossing powder, and I attached that strip at the bottom of my panel right on the tree border. But I didn't want the glue to show at the back of the vellum, so I created a flap at each end of the strip and stuck those flaps at the back of the panel.

Finally, I stuck my slimline panel on a purple card base, and as always I added a million details and highlights on the images to make them pop. And I also glued some iridescent clear jewels here and there to emphasize the magic of Christmas time.

Holiday Card Series w/ Hello Bluebird - Shopping at the Christmas Market

Hey there,

I'm so happy to be back for Hello Bluebird with this lovely scene at the Christmas market featuring a sweet little girl and her dog deciding on which items they should buy to decorate the house for the holiday season. As always I picked a lot of images from different sets to build and furnish my little scene and you will find the list of supplies down below.

I stamped all my images using extreme black ink by My Favorite Things, cut them all using the coordination dies and colored everything using my alcohol markers in very bright and colorful tones.

Once the coloring was done, I cut the elements out of a light brown woodgrain cardstock to build the stand using the Gallery frame #2 and to make those Christmas stand pieces less flat I colored the edges using brown alcohol markers.

Next I cut another frame out of some thick cardboard and glued my woodgrain frame on top of it to bring dimension to the stand. And then I attached my frame on a piece of brown plaid pattern paper to create the back of the stand. And I also glued a few more pieces to finish building the stand: the bottom part to create the counter, the scalloped strip at the top of that counter to make it more pretty, and then the remaining strip to create a shelf to put the presents and accessories on.

I attached the Christmas stand on a 5,5 x 4,25" snowflake pattern paper panel, and cut a snow border using the Summer woods scene die that I attached at the bottom of the panel using foam squares. For the roof, I cut two scalloped strips using a die from the Basic borders die set: a white one and a dark brown one. I attached the white one on top of the dark brown one, and stuck that roof element above de frame to totally finish the Christmas stand.

Next I assembled and attached all my cute images to fill the stand and give life to my little scene. And once everything was glued in place, I white heat embossed the Merry Christmas banner on red cardstock and attached it at the top of the roof. And finally I added a bunch of details and highlights using a white gel pen to make the images pop and bring more holiday spirit to the scene.

Holiday Card Series w/ Sunny Studio - Enchanted Shaker Card

Hello there,

I'm super happy to be back for Sunny Studio with an enchanted shaker card featuring two cute fairies decorating a pink Christmas tree.

As always I stamped a bunch of images (all the supplies are listed down below) using extreme black ink by My Favorite Things, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all and before coloring everything using my alcohol markers, I used my memento black pen to give my cute fairies long sleeves.

Next I moved on to the background and covered a 5,5 x 4,25" bristol panel with spun sugar distress ink. And I used the Forest Trees Stencils to create a pretty forest background using worn lipstick distress ink. And once I was happy with the result, I added some texture to this background: water droplets first, and then I mixed some festive berries distress ink with water to create tiny splatters on the paper and this way bring a little bit more contrast.

I cut some elements to create my window frame. I started by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25"  white panel, and to cut an opening out of this panel, I used the largest die from the Stitched Oval 2 die setAnd to give this window panel some texture and interest, I used the Woodgrain embossing folder. I just placed my panel in that folder and I sent it to my die cutting machine.

I attached this woodgrain window panel on a piece of clear acetate, and then attached foam tape at the back of that panel, all around the oval shape and on the four corners as well. I applied a generous amount of powder along the inside edges of the oval foam tape to get rid of any stickiness, and I cleaned up the acetate using a microfiber cloth.

I poured lots of clear sequins directly on the acetate window, and stuck my forest tree panel right on top of the window panel to create and totally close the shaker panel.

And to bring more interest to this window panel and make it even more pretty, I created a frame: I cut a scalloped oval shape using the largest die from the Scalloped oval mat 1 die setand used the largest die from the Stitched oval 2 die set to cut an opening in that scalloped oval shape and this way create a frame, that I attached on my woodgrain window panel using liquid glue.

I cut a white grass border using a die from the Picket fence die set, and stamped my sentiment on it, I attached that border at the bottom of my panel using foam squares at both ends, and then I stuck all my cute images using foam squares mostly and also liquid glue. And once everything was attached, I added lots of details and highlights on the images and stuck my panel on a white card base.

And that's it! I hope that you like this magical Christmas shaker scene in the forest. Feel welcome to check the video below! Thanks for stopping by, and see you next week!
