Lawn Fawn - Beautiful Wildlife - Pull Tab Card

Hello there,

Today I'm sharing with you a new interactive card featuring the pull tab die, some cute savanna critters and a vet lady from the reserve who makes sure that everyone is doing well.

As always, I first started by stamping a bunch of images on Neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. I colored them using my spectrum noir markers and cut them using the coordinating dies.

When all the elements were colored I added accessories to the lady: a hat and a pair of binoculars to help her look at the animals closely.

To create the background, I cut a 8 x 4-3/4 inches panel, a mountain border, a hill border, a pond and a grass border. All from bristol cardstock.

I used shabby shutters and peeled paint distress inks to color the grass border, peeled paint and gathered twigs for the mountain border, and antique linen for the hill border.

Next I die cut a pond shape on the left side of the hill border. And the pond was colored using shabby shutters, broken china and a little bit of gathered twigs distress inks. I also added shadows on the hill border using gathered twigs distress ink that I blended with antique linen. And for more details I added coordinating drops on each border. For the pond I only spattered water that I dried.

The sky was created using tumbled glass distress ink and a little bit of salty ocean at the very top of the panel.

When everything was done, I attached the mountain border, I traced a pencil line right in the middle of the panel, and die cut a notch. Next I marked the top of the tree trunk, placed the top of the slot die on the tree trunk mark and along the vertical line, and run it through my die cutting machine.

I attached the tree trunk on top of the hill border using foam adhesive squares. I die cut the pull tab from white cardstock, folded the score lines, put it through the slot from the back of the panel, and applied double sided tape on both of the small tabs. I removed the back of the tape and attached the lady. I used my powder tool to make the visible tape non sticky.

I also die cut the sleeve that I folded and attached at the back to help the pull tab go up and down straight.

Next I taped the pond and attached the hill border using two layers of foam tape. The pull tab handle was created using the die and the remaining piece of sky. All the images were attached using glue dots and foam adhesive squares. I stamped my sentiment using my misti tool and black versafine ink.

To finish the card I simply adhered the panel on a white card base using two layers of foam tape.
