Pretty Pink Posh August Release Blog Hop

Hi there,

Pretty Pink Posh August new release is now available at prettypinkposh.com and it's packed with many spooky cute Halloween items: stamps, dies, stencils and shaker accessories! Even though we don't celebrate Halloween in France, I always enjoy creating cards for this occasion, they're so fun to make!

Please visit each crafter along the hop, and comment on their blog for a chance to win a prize!

Three $30 gift certificates are up for grabs (one winner each day) Winners will be picked randomly along the blog hop. Comments must be left by 11:59 pm PST on August 15th. Winners will be announced on the Pretty Pink Posh blog.

To celebrate this spooktacular release, I created a set of four mini cards, and started off by stamping a whole bunch of images from different sets on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and then colored everything using my Graph'it brush markers and Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers.

- Halloween Signs: four signs
- Halloween Cupcakes: four cupcakes
- Boo To You: stars, spiders, ghosts, bats, pumpkins

Next I cut a 6x6 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and I filled the whole piece of paper with colorful treats using the Layered Candy Treats stencils and distress oxide inks:

- kitsch flamingo + picked raspberry
- dried marigold + spiced marmalade
- squeezed lemonade + mustard seed
- twisted citron + mowed lawn
- shaded lilac + wilted violet
- lost shadow + hickory smoke

Once it was done, I added a little bit of texture to make my panel less flat. I smooshed my black soot oxide ink pad on my glass surface, added water and used a small brush to make splatters all over the panel. And I mixed copic opaque white ink with water, and created splatters all over the panel again using the same brush.

Next I worked on the card bases, and each card was made following the same process, with images both on the outside and the inside.

I started off with the outside, and cut several elements: four colorful card bases using the Mini Scallop Card die set, four black & white stripy panels, four vellum panels, and four squares out of my Layered Candy Treats panel using another die from the Mini Scallop card die set. I attached a piece of black organza ribbon on the front panel of each colorful card base, and then stuck my panels using double sided tape. Next I attached another piece of black organza ribbon at the back of each card base, and finally I stuck each colorful card base on a slightly bigger black card base.

I also white heat embossed the phrase "Open if you dare" from Sentiments Strips: Halloween four times on black cardstock, cut them using a die from the Sentiment Stips die set, and attached a strip on each card, along with images using 1mm foam squares.

Next I worked on the inside of my cards.

I white heat embossed "Boo to you" from Boo To You on black cardstock four times, cut them using the coordinating die and stuck one sentiment on each top section of my cards using 1mm foam squares. And I stamped a greeting from Sentiment Strips: Halloween right below each "Boo to you".

I cut four vellum squares, and four colorful patterned squares that I attached on each bottom part of my cards, and then I attached more images using 1mm foam squares. And as always I finished my cards by adding white highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.
