Pretty Pink Posh - Birthday Train with Monkey Friends

Hey there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this Pretty Pink Posh birthday card that echoes to the one I made back in February. The designs are the same, we have stenciled backgrounds and colored images, only the color palette changes.

I started off by stamping my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used the matching dies to cut them all, and my alcohol markers to color everything.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Valentine Train for the locomotive, heart wagon, blank wagon, railway and smoke • Monkey Friends for the monkeys and bananas • Jungle Friends for the ivy, flowers and leaves • Birthday Train for the cake wagon and gift wagon • Party Time for the party hats

I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and started off by creating a light base using oxide inks with, from top to bottom, tumbled glass, squeezed lemonade and dried marigold. Next I used the Birthday Words stencil along with darker shades of oxide inks to stencil my panel with, from top to bottom, salty ocean, mustard seed and carved pumpkin. I splattered the whole background with water and dried it using a paper towel. I also mixed each of the darker oxide inks with water, and made more splatters on the paper using a small brush, and then I did the same with black soot oxide ink and copic opaque white ink.

Once my background was dry, I attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, leaving enough space for my white heat embossed "Delivering birthday wishes" greeting from Birthday Train. And as always I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.
