Sunny Studio - Summer Jar Mug & Ladybug Fairies

jeudi 16 mai 2024

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back on Sunny Studio's blog with this lovely card featuring the jar from the Summer Jar Mug die set from the Summer 2024 release. I have so many ideas of cards to make with this new die set, and the first that came to my mind was this ladybug themed card with ladybug fairies, because I like to use them for all the seasons and for any theme. If you missed them, here are the previous Garden Fairy cards I made: Bee FairiesHalloween FairiesNight FairiesHoliday Fairies.

I started off by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel that I entirely covered with saltwater taffy oxide inks, with a little bit of festive berries oxide ink on the edges. To create a ladybug pattern, I used a bubble stencil from my stash along with black soot oxide ink to make black dots all over my panel. I splattered water on my piece of paper and dried it using a paper towel, mixed some festive berries oxide ink with water and added more splatters on my panel using a small brush, and then did the same with black soot oxide ink and with copic opaque white ink.

Next I cut another 5,5 x 4,25 inches bristol panel, cut two grass borders out of it using a Picket Fence die, and colored both of them using shabby shutters and mowed lawn oxide inks. I mixed some rustic wilderness oxide ink with water, and used my small brush again to make splatters on the grass borders, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

I stamped all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Garden Fairy - two fairies • Garden Critters - ladybugs and leaves • Special Day - heart • Love Birds - flowers • Little Birdie - branches • Bunnyville - grass, butterflies, tulips • Outback Critters - small branch • Seasonal Trees - log

Next I worked on my Shaker Jar Mug, and started off by cutting the different pieces: one holographic jar frame for the front, one whole acetate jar, one whole pearlescent vellum jar for the back, and two white jar frames to create dimension inside the jar. I first attached some images directly on the pearlescent jar using liquid glue, making sure to leave enough space on the edges to attach the jar later on. I attached the acetate jar at the back of the holographic jar frame using liquid glue. Next I stuck both white jar frames to the acetate using liquid glue again. Poured some iridescent confetti inside the jar, and finally glued the pearlescent jar to close my shaker jar.

I attached everything on my ladybug panel, starting with the grass borders using 1mm foam squares. Next I stuck the jar using liquid glue at the bottom and 1mm foam squares at the top. And then I attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, leaving enough space on the top left hand corner for my white heat embossed "You make my heart flutter" greeting from Garden Critters.

Finally I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the fairies wings to make them shine, and glued a tiny red clay heart next to my greeting for a last touch of cuteness.

Pretty Pink Posh June 2024 Release IG Hop - Onesie Themed Card & Matching See-Through Shaker Tag

lundi 13 mai 2024

Hey there,

Pretty Pink Posh just released a collection of products that are perfect for celebrating a variety of special occasions. Whether you're working on a baby shower, a wedding, or a graduation project, this release has something for you!

Make sure to check my post on Instagram and hop along to get inspired for your baby, wedding and/or graduation projects.

*****

For this Instagram Hop, I created a set of cute and bright baby card and matching see-through tag, both featuring several items from the Pretty Pink Posh May 2024 Release, all listed down below as always. These were so much fun to make, I love how adorable and sweet they turned out.

I started off by cutting an Eyelet Rectangle panel out of kraft cardstock and used the Layered Onesies stencils along with oxide inks to create a lovely rainbow background. And to make those rainbow colors pop on my kraft panel, I first created a layer of white onesies using the stencil A and white pigment ink. Next I used the stencil A again, but shifted it slightly to the right, and applied, from the top left corner to the bottom right corner: kitsch flamingo, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, twister citron and salvaged patina oxide inks to get a nice rainbow base.

For the details on the onesies, I used the stencil B and darker shades, from the top left corner to the bottom right corner: picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, squeezed lemonade, mowed lawn and peacock feathers oxide inks. To finish my panel, I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters on my piece of paper.

When my panel was dry, I attached it to a light beige plaid panel, next to a white card base and then I die cut all my bits and pieces out of different colored cardstock, and I assembled everything on my Layered Onesies panel using liquid glue and foam squares, leaving enough space at the bottom for my "Congrats on the new baby" greeting from Sentiment Strips: Occasions that I white heat embossed on orange cardstock, trimmed into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strip die, and attached using 1mm foam squares.

Here is a detailed list of the dies I used:  Baby Mug Additions for most of the dies  Onesie Shaker for the heart  Winter Mug for the mug and the beverage  Valentine Mug Additions for the foam

I glued a white polymer clay heart from the Colorful Hearts clay confetti pack in the center of each bow, applied a little bit of white blizzard nuvo drops on the hearts to make them sparkle, and finally added highlights and details to my die-cut pieces using a white gel pen.

*****

For my Onesie Shaker tag, I went for colors that coordinate with my card.

Here is the process to build it:

1. Cut a whole onesie out of acetate, cut a onesie frame, and stick that frame to the acetate onesie using liquid glue
2. Cut the handle using a Build A Stocking die, and at the back of the acetate onesie, attach that handle (I attached mine on one sleeve)
3. Still at the back of the acetate onesie, add foam strips all along the edges, following the shape
4. Pour some Colorful Hearts clay confetti on the acetate
5. Cut another whole onesie out of acetate, and attach it to the foam strips to close the shaker
6. Cut another onesie frame, and stick it to the acetate onesie (it finishes the back of the tag nicely)

Next I cut the collar and hearts, and attached both pieces using liquid glue. I glued a light pink heart confetti from the Colorful Hearts clay confetti pack in the middle of the heart, added a yellow ribbon below the handle to match the yellow duck on the card, and added twine to hand the tag.

I cut the Baby Script twice: out of gold glitter cardstock and out of white cardstock. I glued the gold glitter one on top of the white one, shifting them a little bit to create a white border. I also white heat embossed my "Welcome little one" greeting from Sentiment Strips: Occasions on pink cardstock, trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die, and attached both pieces on my Onesie Shaker tag using liquid glue.

Sunny Studio - Juicy Watermelon Tropical Card

jeudi 9 mai 2024

Hello there,

I'm super happy to be back on Sunny Studio's blog today with this bright summer card featuring a mix and match of items, including the Juicy Watermelon die set. I love that Sunny Studio has come with fruit dies for summertime (Fresh LemonStrawberry PatchWild Cherry) and I can't wait to share more cards with those brand new items.

For today's card, I started off by cutting bits and pieces out of colored cardstock to build three Juicy Watermelon slices, as well as tropical leaves using Summer Greenery, and tropical flowers using the free gift with purchase. I set all those elements aside, and stamped my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Panda Party for the pandas • Seasonal Trees + Sending Sunshine for the palm trees • Special Day for the hearts • Fabulous Flamingos for the leaves, flowers and watermelon slices • Tiki Time for the toucans and cocktails

Once the coloring was done, I cut a Strathmore bristol smooth slimline panel, covered it with saltwater taffy oxide ink, and used a stencil from my stash along with worn lipstick, festive berries, shabby shutters, mowed lawn and hickory smoke oxide inks to create a watermelon pattern. I splattered water on my panel that I dried using a paper towel, mixed some black soot oxide ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters on the paper, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

Next I attached everything on my slimline panel using liquid glue and foam squares, leaving enough space for my greetings, and then worked on those greetings which are from Beach Bus. I embossed "Summer" on yellow cardstock and cut it using the matching die. And I embossed "Happy" and "Enjoy" on aqua cardstock, trimmed them into slim banners, and then attached those three pieces on my panel using 2mm foam squares. As always I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and finally applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the hearts to make them sparkle.

*****

For this blog hop, I created two baby cards featuring the cutest baby images, I did some stenciling and paper piecing, and made two see-through shaker rattles. So fun!

I cut two 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panels that I colored using the Baby Words stencil along with oxide inks. On the first panel, I applied salvaged patina on one half and shabby shutters on the other half, and then with the stencil I applied peacock feathers and mowed lawn for a tone on tone look. On the second panel, I applied spun sugar on one half and cracked pistachio on the other half, and then with the stencil I applied worn lipstick and lucky clover for a tone on tone look as well.

I splattered water on both panels and dried them using a paper towel. I mixed the same oxide inks with water and used a small brush to make more splatters, and then did the same with copic opaque white ink.

Next I stamped all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and my Graph'it brush markers. For the first card, I went for a green, aqua, yellow and teal color palette, and for the second one, I went for a dark pink, light pink, aqua and teal color palette.

For the elephants, I first stamped them on the same white cardstock using the same black ink. Next I stamped them on pattern papers, fussy cut them, and then attached them on the blank elephants. And I used light gray markers to add shadows to both elephants.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Baby Basics for most of the images  Jungle Friends for the elephants  Lucky for the rainbows

I attached my images on both panels using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, leaving enough space for my "Welcome little one" greetings from Baby Basics that I white heat embossed on dark gray cardstock, trimmed into slim banners using a Sentiment Strips die, and attached below the "Baby" cubes using 1mm foam squares again. I applied a little bit of white blizzard nuvo drops on the hearts to make them shine, added some white hearts from the Colorful Hearts Clay Confetti pack here and there, and finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

*****

The see-through Baby Rattle Shakers were made following the same steps. The only difference is that I put Spring Breeze shaker beads inside the first one, and Sweet Dreams shaker beads inside the second one.

Here is the process for one shaker rattle:
1. Cut two handles and glue them together to make one sturdy handle
2. Cut a whole circle out of acetate, cut a circle frame, and glue that frame on the acetate circle
3. At the back of that acetate circle, add foam strips all around the circle
4. Pour shaker material on the acetate circle
5. Cut another whole circle out of acetate, and stick it to the foam strips to close the shaker
6. Cut another circle frame, and stick it to that acetate circle (to finish the back of the shaker nicely)
7. Trim the handle (or not, it depends on how long you want the rattle to be)
8. Stick the handle at the back of the circle shaker, and add decorations

Sunny Studio - Mermaid Kisses Slimline Underwater Card

jeudi 2 mai 2024

Hello there,

I'm really happy to be back on Sunny Studio's blog with this underwater card featuring the mermaids from Mermaid Kisses. Aren't they beautiful? I love them so much so I went for a slimline design to showcase the four of them.

I started off by stamping my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers. I picked my favorite color palette for when I make underwater cards, which is pink, aqua, purple and blue, and because it's quite a bright and colorful combination, I went for a neutral brown to color their hair.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Mermaid Kisses for most of the images  Fintastic Friends + Ocean View for seaweeds and rocks  Magical Mermaids for the water bubbles, small fish and seashells

Next I cut a Strathmore bristol smooth slimline panel to create my underwater background. On the lower part, I used a slimline hillside stencil along with antique linen and vintage photo oxide inks to make a sand border, I mixed some vintage photo oxide ink with water, and used a small brush to make splatters on my sand border. On the upper part, I applied, from top to bottom, wilted violet, blueprint sketch and peacock feathers oxide inks. I splattered water that I dried using a paper towel, mixed some black soot oxide ink with water to make more splatters, and then did the same with copic opaque white ink that I splattered all over my panel.

I white heat embossed my "Mermaid kisses, starfish wishes" greeting from Mermaid Kisses right in the middle of my panel, and attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. As always, I added highlights and details using a white gel pen, especially on the mermaids' tails, and finished my card by applying white blizzard nuvo drops on the water bubbles to make them sparkle.

Lawn Fawn - Kanga-rrific Give It A Whirl Slimline Card

mardi 30 avril 2024

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back on the Lawn Fawn YouTube Channel & Blog today with this new Give It A Whirl Slimline card showcasing the adorable Kanga-rrific and its add-on, both from the Spring 2024 release. I had so much fun making the pirate scene I shared a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be fun to use the same design but with different theme and critters.

I started off by cutting a Large Slimline Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and used stencils along with oxide inks to create my landscape. At the bottom, I created a grass border using the Slimline Grassy stencil along with shabby shutters and mowed lawn oxide inks. Right above it, I created a sand border using a Slimline Hillside stencil along with antique linen and vintage photo oxide inks. Next I did mountains using the Mountain stencil along with vintage photo and ground espresso oxide inks. And finally I did the sky using tumbled glass and broken china oxide inks.

I stamped my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Jet Black ink, cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and my Graph'it brush markers. And for a change I used images from only two stamp sets: Kanga-rrific and Kanga-rrific Add-On.

For the interactive part, I used the Give It A Whirl die set, and I invite you to watch the video down below for a better understanding of the entire process.

My Give It A Whirl interactive panel was attached right in the middle of my slimline panel using two layers of foam strips, and the images on both sides were attached using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. And as always I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh - Cute Peacock - All Die-Cut Card

samedi 27 avril 2024

Hi there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this super bright and fun only die-cut card featuring a lovely peacock perched on a branch. As a huge fan of mixing and matching items from my stash, this is what I did on this card, and you will find a detailed list of the Pretty Pink Posh supplies I used down below.

I started off by creating a bright rainbow leafy background to set my tropical scene on a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel using distress oxide inks. From top to bottom, I applied kitsch flamingo, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron and salvaged patina. This gave me a nice pastel rainbow base, and then I added leaves using one of the Layered Leaves & Flowers stencils along with darker oxide inks. From top to bottom, I applied picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn and peacock feathers. I mixed each of these darker inks with water to make splatters on the background using a small brush, and then did the same with black soot oxide ink and copic opaque white ink to bring more contrast and interest to my panel.

Next I die cut all the bits and pieces from colored cardstock using multiple dies from different sets: • Big Easter Cupcake for the peacock's body, wings, cheeks, sign • Easter Mug Additions for the feathers, eyes, feet, beak • Party Hats for the peacock's comb • Spring Mug Additions for the butterflies, leaves, flowers • Nature Essentials for the branches

I added more depth to each die-cut piece using matching oxide inks, and attached everything on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, as well as liquid glue, leaving enough space on the left and at the top for two of my greetings.

Speaking of which, next I worked on my three white heat embossed greetings. I embossed "Hello friend" from Mouse Friends on light pink cardstock, trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die, and attached it at the top of my panel using 1mm foam squares. Next I embossed "A little birdie told me" from A Little Birdie on the left hand side of my panel, and finally embossed "You're the tweetest" from the same set on the sign that I attached between the peacock's wings using 1mm foam squares again. As always I finished my card by adding highlights and details to my card using a white gel pen.
