Holiday Card Series 2019 w/ Lawn Fawn - Clean & Simple Card Challenge

mardi 19 novembre 2019

Hi there,

I'm back today with something unusual: two clean and simple cards. I like that kind of project but if you follow for some time, you know that I'm a busy card kind of person.

But with my friends Mona and Laura, we've decided to challenge ourselves: we had to make clean and simple cards using one Lawn Fawn stamp set only. I chose the Mice on Ice stamp set. Not easy when you like to always add more and more details to a card so I hope I took up this challenge well.

So I first started by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25 inches kraft panel, and I used two circle dies from the Just Stitching Double Circle die set to create prints on my panel.

When it was done I placed my panel in my misti tool and stamped one of the images using brown ink.
And I colored those cute mice using different shades of browns to get a nice sepia/vintage look. When it was done, I stamped some snowflakes around the mice to add more interest.

Even if it's a clean and simple card, my panel was definitely too flat to me so I applied a little bit of vintage photo distress ink on the edges.

Next I stamped my sentiment:
the first part using candied apple oxide ink to stamp the word "Joyful", and the second part at the bottom right hand corner using brown ink and saying "May the little things bring you happiness".

For a tiny little touch of sparkles I added a dot in the middle of each snowflake using a gold gel pen. And next I will stick my panel to a kraft card base.

And next I made a second card using two other stamps from the same set. I also used the same markers and the same inks to create it.

Holiday Card Series 2018 - Yana Smakula' style

mercredi 12 décembre 2018

Hello there,

Today I'm sharing with you several CAS (clean and simple) cards I made inspired by Yana Smakula. I'm a big fan of her simple and elegant projects so I thought I could give it a try and put my busy style aside for one day ^^

Here are the projects that inspired me:

For my bohemian lace background card, I used a mandala stamp my friend Anna designed for Craftin Desert Divas. When I bought it, I knew i wanted to make those cards inspired by Yana.

Craft card: the mandala was stamped using a light brown ink. I added white drops on the small circles and white heat embossed my sentiment on a small banner that I attached in the middle of the panel.

Navy cardstock: the mandala and the sentiment were gold heat embossed and I added clear drops on the small circles.

Red cardstock: the mandala was stamped using a dark red ink. I added white and clear drops on the small circles and gold heat embossed my sentiment on a small banner that I attached in the middle of the panel.

For my easy Christmas cards, I used a stamp set by Pink Fresh Studio and several old stamp sets from my stash. I literally turned my craft room upside down to find the perfect stamps for these cards! ^^

For these three cards, I gold heat embossed a long rectangle to create the base of the snow globe and different images that I painted white using a gel pen. I also added white drops to create falling snow.

And for the last two cards, I simply gold heat embossed the images and sentiments, and added colorful drops.

Summer Card - Fun in The Sun - CAS Card

lundi 7 mai 2018

Hello there,

It's day 1 of Sneak Peek Week for Craftin Desert Divas May Release. I wanted to make something simpler than the projects I usually do so I went with a CAS (= clean and simple) card.

I first started by creating the background. For that I made my own circle stencil and temporary attached it to a bristol smooth panel. To create the sand, I applied light brown distress ink at the bottom of the circle using a homemade hill stencil. And using a cloud stencil (again, homemade), I applied blue distress ink to create the sky. Sprayed some water on top of all of that and dried it using paper towel.

I stamped and fussy cut my images, and colored them using my alcohol markers. I wanted bright colors so I went with rainbow colors for the parasol. Attached both images using foam squares. Stamped my sentiment, applied glossy accents on the glasses, added some clear dots here and there, and attached the panel to a white card base to finish the project.
