Sunny Studio - Apple Themed Card

jeudi 19 septembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this lovely apple themed card showcasing, once again, a mix & match of images from different sets (listed down below), as well as Crisp Apple die-cuts. Don't you love it when a brand releases products that go perfectly with previously released items? That's what I like the most about Sunny Studio, besides their ever so sweet designs, of course!

As very often, I started off by stamping my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Fall Kiddos - kids • Truckloads Of Love - truck, apples, crates • Happy Harvest - sunflowers • Fall Friends - apples • Farm Fresh - crows • Barnyard Buddies - fences • Seasonal Trees - trees • Bunnyville - grass • Turkey Day - heart on the sweater.

Next I cut six Crisp Apples out of light pink cardstock, and used candied apple and lumberjack plaid oxide inks to add more depth to each element. I also cut leaves out of green cardstock, and added more depth using rustic wilderness oxide ink. And I cut the stems out of brown cardstock, and added more depth using vintage photo oxide ink.

For my background, I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and went for a simple landscape with a cloudy sky on the upper half using a cloud stencil from my stash along with salvaged patina and peacock feathers distress inks, and grass on the lower half using peeled paint and forest moss distress inks. I attached all my images and die-cut apples on the panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, stamped in black my "I couldn't have picked a better friend" greeting from Punny Apple Greetings between the trees, and finally added highlights and details using a white gel pen.

Sunny Studio - Happy Howl-O-Ween Colorful Scene

jeudi 5 septembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this spooky cute and colorful card showcasing the super adorable pups from Happy Howl-o-ween. They're so fun, I adore them, and I hope to be able to feature them on more cards in the coming weeks.

I went for quite a simple background for this card, and started off by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel that I divided in two parts: the sky in the upper part, and grass in the lower part. For the sky, I applied, from top to bottom, salty ocean and prize ribbon oxide inks. I splattered water droplets that I dried using a paper towel. I mixed a drop of liquid stardust with a couple of water droplets, added more splatters to the sky, and next I mixed some black soot oxide ink with water to make even more splatters. For the grass, I started off by applying mowed lawn oxide ink on the whole section, and next blended some rustic wilderness oxide ink at the bottom and on the sides. I mixed some rustic wilderness oxide ink with water and added splatters on my green section. And then I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and added splatters all over the panel.

I stamped my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers, my Graph'it brush markers, and my Ohuhu markers. And for some extra fun, I picked a purple, aqua, green, yellow and orange color palette for the houses and lights.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Happy Howl-o-ween - dogs  Scenic Route - houses, lights  Fall Scenes - bats, small pumpkins, trees  Too Cute To Spook - spiders, tiny Jack 'O Lantern face.

Once the coloring was done, I white heat embossed my "Wishing you a grrreat Halloween" greeting from Happy Howl-o-ween at the bottom of my panel, and then attached all my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I added a drop of white blizzard nuvo drops on each light to make them all shine, and finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh - Halloween Corners

mardi 3 septembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this spooky cute card showcasing several stamp sets from the Pretty Pink Posh August 2024 Release. I had so much fun mixing and matching my stamps, and using this pink + orange + gray color palette was really cool!

As very often, I started off by stamping my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Detail black ink by Pinkfresh Studio. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers.

Here is a detailed list of the products I used:  Halloween Corners - corners & center pieces, bats, black spiders  Boo To You - stars  Halloween Icons - cat, large spiders, spider webs, hats, bats, skulls  Halloween Train - small spiders.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and started off by covering it with spun sugar oxide ink to get a nice light pink base, and next I used the Layered Halloween Wreath stencil along with more oxide inks to create a fun background. I splattered water droplets all over my panel and dried it using a paper towel. I mixed a drop of liquid stardust with a little bit of water, and used a small brush to add sparkling splatters to my panel. And I did the same with black soot oxide ink and copic opaque white ink for contrast.

I white heat embossed my "Boo to you" greeting from Boo To You on black cardstock, cut it using the matching die, and then I attached everything, images and sentiment, on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and finally added white blizzard nuvo drops to the stars to make them sparkle.

Sunny Studio - Clucky Chickens Slimline Card

jeudi 15 août 2024

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back with this Sunny Studio slimline card featuring the cutest chicken neighborhood. I've used the Clucky Chickens only one time since it was released, and that was so fun to color the chicks, baby chicks and hen houses again. And because we're about to turn into the fall season with a brand new release, I thought it'd be fun to make a transition and use some autumn colors on this card.

I started off by stamping all the images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers (Ohuhu, Graph'it and Spectrum Noir)

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Clucky Chickens - chicks, baby chicks, hen houses, hay • Seasonal Trees - trees, birdhouses, birds • Barnyard Buddies - fences • Bunnyville - grass.

Next I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel that I colored using oxide inks. I divided my panel horizontally using washi tape, and created a very simple background: grass at the bottom using peeled paint and forest moss distress inks, and the sky at the top using salvaged patina and peacock feathers distress inks. I mixed some forest moss distress ink with water and used a small brush to add splatters to the grass sections, and did the same with peacock feathers distress ink to add splatters to the sky as well. And then I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and used my brush again to add splatters all over the panel.

Once my panel was dry, I attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, and added highlights and details to all of them using a white gel pen. I embossed my "Clucky to have you as my friend" greeting from Clucky Chickens in white on dark kraft cardstock, and  trimmed it into a banner that I attached on my panel using foam squares again.

Sunny Studio - Rainbow Summer Duo

jeudi 8 août 2024

Hey there,

I'm thrilled to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this duo of super cute and extra colorful rainbow summer cards featuring cocktails and sunglasses, which is the perfect combo for a fun summer vacation!

I started off by stamping cocktails, flowers and sunglasses from Big Panda, as well as a bunch of hearts from Special Day on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers, my Graph'it brush markers, and my Ohuhu markers.

Next I cut two 5,5 x 4,25 inches Surprise Party panels, and attached each of them to a white card base. I cut sixteen small panels using the second smallest Limitless Labels 1 die: six out of Polka Dot Parade pattern papers, and six more out of Classic Sunburst pattern papers. I attached the first six on the rainbow sprinkles background using 1mm foam squares, and attached the six remaining ones on the rainbow dot background using 1mm foam squares again.

I attached my images on each panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, making sure to coordinate everything, and then created two sentiments. I started off by white heat embossing two "Summer" words from Beach Bus on black cardstock, I cut them using the matching die, and attached each word in the middle on each panel using 2mm foam squares. I white heat embossed "Happy" and "Hello" from Beach Bus again on colored cardstock, and trimmed them into small banners that I stuck on my panels using foam squares again. To finish both cards, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the hearts to make them super shiny.

Lawn Fawn - Hap-pea Birthday Card

jeudi 1 août 2024

Hello there,

I'm super happy to be back on the Lawn Fawn YouTube Channel & Blog today with Hap-pea Birthday card inspired by two cards I've made for the Lawn Fawn July 2024 Inspiration Week. I made each of those cards without thinking about the other, but when I saw them next to each other on my desk, I realized that they both shared the same design: three large images at the top, a cute scene at the bottom and a cloudy sky. So, I thought it'd be fun to add a third card to this already existing duo.

I started off by stamping all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Jet Black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything my alcohol markers with different shades of green mostly.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Be Hap-pea - peas, pea pods, small leaves, small sentiments  A Bug Deal - branches, large leaves  Critters In The Jungle - flowers  Kanga-rrific Add-On - grass  Veggie Happy & Add-On - worms  All The Speech Bubbles - speech bubbles, small sentiments  Pick Of The Patch - swirling things  Eggstra Amazing Easter - bows.

Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel and colored it using stencils along with oxide inks. On the lower part, I created a grass border using a Hillside stencil along with shabby shutters and mowed lawn oxide inks. And on the upper part, I created the sky using the Cloudy stencil along with salvaged patina and peacock feathers oxide inks.

I white heat embossed my "Hap-pea birthday from all of us" greeting from Be Hap-pea at the bottom of my panel, and then attached all my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. And as always, I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh - Elephant Baby Card

samedi 27 juillet 2024

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back today with this lovely baby card featuring, as always, a whole bunch of images from different sets. I had so much fun going through my entire Pretty Pink Posh collection to find the stamps that would match my baby theme!

I started off by stamping all my images on 80lb Neenah using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and my Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the products I used:  Elephant Friends for the elephants  Holiday Stockings for the teddy bear  Spring Robins for the branches  Dinosaur Friends for the leaves  Jungle Friends for the flowers, leaves and ivy  Baby Basics for the rattle  Easter Signs for the pinwheel  Baby for the onesie, bottle, bib, hearts and safety pins.

I cut a Strathmore bristol smooth slimline panel using the largest Slimline Peekaboo Windows die, and colored it using oxide inks. From top to bottom, I applied tumbled glass, squeezed lemonade and dried marigold. And I made this background more interesting by using the Mini Polka Dots stencil along with, from top to bottom, salty ocean, mustard seed and carved pumpkin oxide inks. Next I added texture to my panel, starting with water droplets that I dried with a paper towel. I mixed some black soot oxide ink with water, used a small brush to add splatters to my piece of paper, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

Once my panel was dry, I stuck all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, added highlights and details using a white gel pen, and applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the hearts to make them shine. I white heat embossed my "Congrats on the new baby" greeting from Sentiment Strips: Occasions, cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches panel out of light brown woodgrain cardstock, attached my panel on top using double sided tape, and finally stuck everything on a kraft card base.

Sunny Studio - Flamazing Sliding Window Card

jeudi 25 juillet 2024

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this fun and bright interactive Sliding Window card featuring three cute Fabulous Flamingos in a tropical scenery. Oh how I love to make tropical cards!

As very often I started off with the coloring and stamped all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers using corals for the flamingos, red for the flowers and different greens for the leaves. Here is a detailed list of the products I used: • Fabulous Flamingos - flamingos, hearts • Tropical Birds - ivy, leaves, flowers • Silly Sloths - flowers, leaves.

I cut a 5 x 3,75 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel using the largest Stitched Rectangle, and colored it using oxide inks. I started off by covering it with cracked pistachio oxide ink to create a nice and even base. I added and blended some lucky clover oxide ink on the four edges, and then brought more interest to this background using a leafy stencil from my stash along with lucky clover oxide ink. I splattered clear water all over my panel and dried it using a paper towel. Next I mixed some pine needle oxide ink with water, used a small brush to make splatters on my panel, and then did the same with black soot oxide ink and with copic opaque white ink.

Next I cut and colored two additional Strathmore bristol smooth panels. The first one measures 5 x 3,25 inches, I cut the second one using the largest Stitched Rectangle die, and colored them both using the same colors. I first covered them with tattered rose oxide ink, and used the same leafy background stencil as before along with saltwater taffy oxide ink.

Once my leafy green panel was dry, I cut my Sliding Window out of it, as well as the notch at the top, folded my panel on the score lines, flipped it over, and added double sided tape on the slim bottom tab. I peeled the backing paper off this tab, flipped my 5 x 3,25 inches leafy pink panel over, and attached it at the back of my leafy green panel, lining up the bottom edge of the leafy green panel with the slim tab. I glued the small tab piece at the top of my leafy green panel, pierced a hole through that tab, cut a green eyelet using a die from Sliding Window, attached this eyelet to the tab, and added red twine to create a handle and be able to pull the interactive panel.

I flipped my leafy green panel over, and added foam strips along the bottom edge, on the side edges as well, but not along the top edge. I peeled all the backing papers off, and attached my leafy green panel to the remaining leafy pink panel to complete the whole interactive process. Next I cut a 5,25 x 4 inches white panel that I attached to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Polka Dot Parade red pattern paper, and then stuck this whole panel to a white card base.

At the inside bottom of the card, I stamped "You're flamazing" from Fabulous Flamingos in black, added a few extra images, and did the same at the inside top of the pull tab. I also white heat embossed the banner from Little Birdie on vellum, embossed "Hello friend" from Chubby Bunny and Bighearted Bears inside the banner, cut it using the matching die, and attached it below the flamingos using clear foam squares. As always I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.
