Lawn Fawn - Beary Fun Waving Pull Tab Birthday Card

mardi 16 février 2021

 Hello there,

Today we join a cute bear family at the arcade games. They're playing at the claw machine and it looks like they're going to clear it out!

As always, I started with the coloring part. I stamped all my images on 80lbs Neenah solar white cardstock using jet black ink, cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers.

For the background, I chose two papers: a rainbow paper and a shimmery light blue cardstock. I cut a star background out of the light blue cardstock that I attached on the rainbow paper paper using liquid glue. And I also created a very simple floor using a green pattern paper.

Next I moved on to the interactive part of my card, and I invite you to watch the process video below to see how it was done; it's always easier to understand with images ^^

When it was all done, I stuck the floor using double sided sticky tape, and attached my panel on a mermaid card base using two layers of foam tape. And then I finally assembled and attached all my cute images on my panel using a combination of foam tape for the largest pieces, as well as foam squares and glue dots.

Once everything was attached, I white heat embossed my sentiment 'Have a beary fun birthday' on black cardstock and I trimmed it into slim banners that I attached below the notch. And finally I cut the arrow out of chili pepper cardstock and stuck it at the top of the pull tab to totally complete my card.

Holiday Card Series w/ Lawn Fawn - Special Winter Delivery Waving Pull Tab Card

mardi 22 décembre 2020

 Hi there,

Today's project was inspired by this card I made for Valentine Release Week, and I thought it would be fun to make a winter version of it.

So I stamped all my cute images using jet black ink and colored them using my alcohol markers, and when the coloring was done I cut the images using the coordinating dies and moved on to the background.

I first cut a snowy backdrop out of bristol cardstock and then put my panel a second time in my die cut machine along with a stitched rectangle die to add stitched details to my snowy panel. Next I colored my panel using cracked pistachio, peacock feathers and blueprint sketch distress inks.

Once I was happy with the blending, I added some texture but not too much because the panel was already pretty busy with the stars and snow. I just mixed the same inks I used before with water and created small droplets on the paper using a thin brush.

To ground my scene, I cut a wavy border out of bristol cardstock, a strip out of narwhal cardstock and a part of a rectangle out of fog cardstock. I set the grey pieces aside and applied a tiny bit of cracked pistachio distress ink on wavy top edge of the border to not have just a plain white element.

Next I applied a whole lot of liquid glue at the back of my snowy panel and then stuck it to some pixie dust paper.

Next I moved on to the interactive part of my card using the waving pull tab starter die set, and it's always easier to understand with images so I invite to watch the process video below.

Once the interactive part was done, and before assembling my images on my panel, I stamped my sentiment on the wavy border. I started by heat embossing 'Merry Christmas' in silver, and next I stamped 'May you get everything you wish for' in black right below it.

Next I finally put everything together. I started by applying foam tape at the back of my panel, making sure not to touch the mechanism, and attached my panel on a peacock card base.

And then I assembled all my images to create a cute little scene. I started by layering the three borders to ground my scene, and then I used foam squares and a tiny bit of liquid glue to stick the images.

Lawn Fawn - A Waving Pull Tab Slimline Polar Bear Card

samedi 26 septembre 2020

 Hi there,

Today I'm back with some cute polar bears celebrating Christmas on the ice field. To create this card, I gathered most of the bears we got in the new release, as well as some other images to help me create my scene. I stamped all the images on white cardstock using jet black ink and used the coordinating dies to cut them all.

When the coloring was done, I cut some elements to build my background: a slimline panel, a wavy borders, and two dens.

I started by coloring the wavy border using blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire and black soot distress inks. I colored the middle section of the slimline panel using tumbled glass. And used cracked pistachio and salty ocean distress inks for the sky.

Like always I added texture to those elements, as well as liquid stardust drops all over the panel to get a starry sky and a sparkly snow field.

I created a den for my bear family, and next I moved on to the waving pull tab mechanism and I encourage you to watch the video below to see how it was done, it's easier to understand with images ^^

When the mechanism was done, I attached the bear between the arms using foam tape. I also stuck the ocean border using double sided tape, and I gave the bear a blue scarf using glue dots. I stamped two more snow angel prints, and stuck two little bears on those print using foam tape again.

I applied two layers of foam tape at the back of my panel, making sure to stay away from the pull strip, and I stuck my panel on a card base. And then I finally attached the rest of the images using glue dots and foam tape.

Once everything was attached, I cut an arrow out of pixie dust cardstock that I attached at the top of the pull strip. Next I made the christmas tree lights shiny using glossy accents. And finally I added chunky glitter on the top edge of the wavy border.
