Craftin Desert Divas - Spinning into space

mercredi 13 décembre 2017

Hey there,

Here is my last card for Craftin Desert Divas December release featuring the new "Far Out" stamp set. It's a spinner card because what is funnier than spining into space?

I first started by creating the background using different colors of distress inks that I blended together on a piece of bristol smooth cardstock.

Then, in this galaxy panel, cut a large ring using two different sizes of circle dies. I cut a piece of black cardstock and glued the ring in the middle.

I used the same smaller circle die and another one, bigger than the large one previoulsy used to die cut another ring but this time from acetate (please watch the video if all this doesn't sound clear ^^)

Placed that acetate ring on the galaxy panel, and attached the middle part using double sided foam tape.

Colored the images, fussy them, created a moon, and die cut some little stars and circles from glitter cardstocks. Placed the images along the acetate ring, and took a picture so I remember where to glue everything.

Removed the images, and attached foam squares where I wanted them to go. And I attached the last pice of my galaxy panel using double sided foam tape. Removed all the backs of the foam squares and glued the images and little die cuts in place.

And to finish the card, I simply added a bunch of little dots on my panel using a white gel pen because what's a galaxy sky without stars?

Craftin Desert Divas - Rainbow Party - Interactive Card

lundi 11 décembre 2017

Hello there,

Today I'm back with this colorful interactive card. It's quite simple to make and the effect is amazing! This card features a stamp from the new "Celebration Trolls" stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas.

I first started by creating the background. And for that, I simply attached strips of thin masking tape to a piece of white bristol cardstock using the grid of my mat so I get even triangles. Then I applied rainbow colors of distress inks on each triangle. I also colored my image, and fussy cut it.

Then I cut a thin strip of acetate, and die cut three scalloped borders. Attached one border at the top of my panel using foam squares.

On another border, I pierced a small hole right in the middle. Did the same thing at the very bottom of the acetate strip. Placed the strip on the border and attached both pieces using a brad so the piece of acetate can move from left to right and right to left. Attached that second border at the bottom of my panel, and glued the third on top of it so it kind of hide the brad mechanism.

Attached my image to the strip using glue dots, then my panel to a white card base, glued my sentiment in place and added clear glitter to the troll's hair to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Happy Dance - Spinner Card

samedi 12 août 2017

Hello there,

This week, I'll be showcasing four projects I've guest designed using a brand new stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas: "Get Wild". I absolutely loved crafting anf creating fun things with these cuties!

For this first project, I chose to make my first spinner card ever. I really enjoyed creating it and I like to think that they're all having fun doing a little round dance!

I first started by stamping, coloring all my images using my Misti tool and my alcohol markers (I ended up not using the little turtle) and fussy cutting them.

Then I created the spinner thing. I cut two squares: one from white cardstock and another one from watercolor cardstock. From the watercolor paper, I die cut a ring using two circle dies from my stash, placed all the watercolor pieces together on the white square base, and only attached the watercolor ring using liquid glue.

Then I took the smaller circle die I previously used, took one larger than the big one I previously used (I think the whole process is easier to understand by watching the video below ^^), attached them together using masking tape and die cut a circle from clear acetate.

I placed my acetate ring on top of the watercolor one, and attached the watercolor circle in the middle using double sided foam tape making sure to put my tape in the middle so the acetate ring could work perfectly later.

Next I temporary attached the acetate ring to the white cardstock, and put several foam squares along the acetate ring. I applied some powder on the side of these foam squares, stamped my sentiment (I almost forgot) and then I attached the rest of the watercolor square using the same double sided foam tape as previously.

I attached all my images, glued my panel on a white card base, and added some sequins to finish the card.
