Pretty Pink Posh - Winter Birdhouse

lundi 29 décembre 2025

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this lovely winter themed shaker card featuring a whole bunch of Pretty Pink Posh products from different years, a very diverse mix & match, just how I like them, to create a super cute scene. And sharing this card and blog post is also the opportunity for me to announce that I'll be staying in the Pretty Pink Posh design team for another term, and it truly fills me with joy!

To celebrate and kick off this new term, Pretty Pink Posh is giving away a BIG gift card to their shop, so make sure to visit the Pretty Pink Posh blog to get all the details!

So, to make this card, I started off by creating the background. I cut a Pierced Snowflake panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock and covered it with shaded lilac oxide ink. I added trees to my panel using the Layered Birch Trees stencils along with wilted violet oxide ink for the trees and black soot oxide ink for the details. Next I mixed copic opaque white ink with water, added white splatters to my panel and then did the same with liquid stardust. To complete my winter background, I added falling snow using the Snowfall stencil along with opaque white grit paste, and once my panel was dry, I attached it to a white card base.

Next I worked on the shaker bucket following those steps:
1. Cut a Candy Bucket frame out of purple cardstock, and added white splatters to it,
2. Cut a whole bucket out of acetate, added white splatters to it as well, and let it dry,
3. Attached the acetate bucket at the back of the purple frame using liquid glue,
4. Still at the back of the frame, I stuck foam strips all around it, following the shape of the bucket,
5. Poured a bunch of Pastel Blizzard confetti and Marshmallow shaker beads inside the bucket,
6. Cut another whole bucket out of an aqua pattern paper, added white splatters to it, and once dry, attached it to the foam strips to totally close my bucket.

To ground my bucket, I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel out of white cardstock, cut a hill out of it using one of the Snowy Hills Borders die, added liquid stardust splatters to it, and set it aside.

Next I cut all the bits and pieces out of colored cardstock, silver glitter cardstock, white glitter cardstock and a light pink pattern paper. I added liquid stardust to the white pieces, and white splatters and liquid stardust splatters to the colored pieces. Here is a detailed list of the die sets I used:  Winter Trees - trees  Christmas Holder Additions - snowflakes  Christmas Bucket Additions - snowflakes, snow banks  Winter Foliage - pine cones, branches, leaves  Decorative Birdhouses - birdhouse  Holiday Birds - birds, scarf, ear muff  Beautiful Bows - bow.

I cut a snowflake out of the birdhouse and then assembled the house, glued a colored tree on a white glitter tree using liquid glue, making sure to shift them a bit to get a nice white border under each branch, I did the same for the bow, attached the snowflakes on top of each other to make two large snowflakes, and finally assembled the birds, with Onyx pearls for their eyes.

Next I attached everything to my card, starting with the bucket, next the trees, the birdhouse and birds, the hill border, and then the snowflakes and foliage, all of this using 1mm and 2mm foam squares and liquid glue. I picked three snowflake confetti from the Pastel Blizzard mix and glued a snowflake in the center of each snowflake and inside the birdhouse as well. And for my greeting, I white heat embossed "Winter Greetings" from Let It Snow on pink cardstock, cut it using the matching die, and then attached it between the foliage clusters using foam squares again.
