Sunny Studio - Brilliant Banners & Cozy Autumn Card

jeudi 31 août 2023

Hello there,

How exciting it is to be back on Sunny Studio's blog with this autumn slimline card showcasing a lovely fox family and a whole bunch of images - you know my love for busy cards ^^ - as well as one of the brand new Brilliant Banners, so beautiful!

As very often, I started off by stamping all my images on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers. For the card I shared last week, I went for a pink, orange, yellow and green color palette, well, this time I picked another favorite autumn color palette of mine: turquoise, green, yellow and orange.

Here is the detailed list of the stamp sets I used:
 Foxy Christmas - foxes
Happy Harvest - sunflowers, mushroom, small leaves
 Harvest Mice - corn
 Fall Friends - apple, acorn
 Bountiful Autumn - berries
Too Cute to Spook - pumpkins
 Spring Showers - small bow
 Seasonal Trees - trees, birds

Once all my images were colored, I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and used distress inks to create a simple landscape. I divided my panel using washi tape, and on the lower part I used shabby shutters + peeled paint + forest moss to create a grass border, and on the upper part I used tumbled glass + broken china along with a cloudy stencil from my stash to make the sky.

Next I attached all my images on my panel using 1mm foam squares for the images in the back, and 2mm foam squares for the images on the front, leaving enough space in the top middle section to put my Brilliant Banner 1. I cut the two largest pieces out of kraft cardstock, and the two small pieces out of brown cardstock. I white heat embossed my "Cozy Greetings" from Turkey Day on the piece with no fishtail, assembled the different elements to build the banner, and then attached it in the middle of my card. And as always I finished my card by adding highlights and details on the images and banner using a white gel pen. And that's it! I hope that you like this adorable card. Thanks for stopping by, and see you next week!

Pretty Pink Posh - Spooky Stitched Pumpkins

mardi 29 août 2023

Hey there,

I'm happy to share with you this new Halloween card I made using the Stitched Pumpkins die set + Mummy Wrap stencil by Pretty Pink Posh. Not so long ago, I wasn't comfortable using only dies on my projects, but lately I've been enjoying creating that kind of card! They're so easy and fun to make!

I started off with the background, and cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel. And I still hadn't used the new Mummy Wrap stencil, so I decided to give it a try but went for a wood plank look instead of a mummy look. So I first covered my bristol panel with antique linen and vintage photo oxide inks, I applied and blended those two inks randomly on my panel. Next I taped the stencil on my panel and applied vintage photo oxide ink all over it. And I added a little bit of ground espresso oxide ink to darken some areas, especially the four edges of my panel, as well as the edges of each stripe.

Once I was happy with the result, I added texture to my panel. I mixed some black soot oxide ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters on the panel. And I did the same with copic opaque white ink.

Next I cut all the different pieces: the pumpkins, leaves and ivy from Stitched Pumpkins, the berry branches from Winter Foliage, the spider from Halloween Mug Additions. Cut everything from different colored cardstock, and used oxide inks to bring shadows and make the pieces more interesting.

Pretty Pink Posh - Hocus Pocus Halloween Shaker Mug

dimanche 27 août 2023

Hey there,

Let's get spooky with this new Halloween shaker card showcasing, once again, several items from the latest Pretty Pink Posh release, including the Halloween Mug Additions, as well as the Layered Argyle Stencils set which is one of my favorite products from August release.

I started off by cutting different panels: a 5,5 x 4,25 inches black panel, a slightly smaller Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and an even smaller vellum panel. I set the black panel and vellum panel aside, and worked on the Strathmore panel using the Layered Argyle Stencils along with oxide inks: black soot, spiced marmalade and wilted violet. As always I added texture to my panel: I mixed some black soot oxide ink with water and used a small brush to add splatters to my panel, and did the same thing with copic opaque white ink. Once it was dry, I attached my colorful panel on the black one using double sided tape.

Next I cut a bunch of Halloween Mug elements out of different colored cardstock, as well as two ghosts from Halloween House. I attached a tiny piece of black cardstock at the back of each ghost to make their eyes, and then used oxide inks to add more depth and details to the colored elements.

Next I worked on the shaker mug, and cut several mug elements using Winter Mug: a plain polka dot green mug, a plain acetate mug, and a light grey mug frame using a die from Birthday Mug Additions. I added a little bit of hickory smoke oxide ink on the light grey mug edges, attached the acetate mug at its back, as well as thin foam strips following the mug shape. I also added mowed lawn oxide ink on the polka dot green mug edges, poured some Spooky Glass Beads inside the mug frame, and then attached the green mug on the foam to close the mug.

I attached all the pieces on my vellum panel using liquid glue for the mug, and 2mm foam squares for the other pieces. And then I created my greeting: I white heat embossed "Hocus pocus" from Sentiment Strips Halloween on purple cardstock, cut it into a small banner using a die from Sentiment Strips, and attached that purple strip on a larger scalloped black strip that I stuck above my shaker Halloween Mug.

And for the insert grass pieces, I used a green polka pattern paper and a brown polka dot pattern paper, both from the Critters Country paper pack as well.

I white heat embossed my "Driving by to wish you a happy fall" greeting from Truckloads Of Love on the long purple stripe that goes on the front of the card. Next I layered, assembled and built my 3D card base, added highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen, and finally attached them all inside my 3D card using 3mm glue dots and liquid glue.

Sunny Studio - Little Buckaroo Card

lundi 21 août 2023

Hi there,

I'm super happy to be back with this lovely farm scene featuring Little Buckaroo by Sunny Studio. I had never colored those cute characters before so I was glad to finally get to do it!

As very often I started off by stamping those adorable cowgirl and cowboy, along with more images from other sets, on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers + Graph'it Brush markers.

So, in addition to the Little Buckaroo images, I picked:
- the barn from Farm Fresh
- the grass sprigs from Bunnyville
- the baby chicks from Clucky Chickens
- the horse + the bale of hay from Barnyard Buddies

Next I created the background. I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and used stencils from my stash along with oxide inks to do my landscape. At the very bottom I created a grass border using mowed lawn + rustic wilderness oxide inks. Right above it I used antique linen + vintage photo oxide inks to create some kind of a muddy/sandy section. Above it I did some mountains using rusty hinge + vintage photo oxide inks. And at the very top I did the sky using mustard seed + spiced marmalade oxide inks.

I attached all the images on my panel using 1mm + 2mm foam squares, stamped my "Greetings from the funny farm" sentiment from Barnyard Buddies in black in the top right hand corner, and finished the card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh August Instagram Hop

lundi 14 août 2023

Hey there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this new Halloween card showcasing the brand new Boo To You stamp set from the Pretty Pink Posh August release. As you may know, I love busy card packed with a bunch of cute images, so I'm really happy of how my card turned out!

Please check my post on Instagram to get all the details about this hop.

First thing I worked on is the background. I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches kraft panel, and used the Layered Pumpkins stencils to create a super cool pumpkin background. To make my pumpkins stand out on the kraft panel, I started off by inking them using white pigment ink, and then I used my heat gun to dry the ink. Next I shifted my stencil a little bit towards the right, and used spiced marmalade to create bright orange pumpkins. And by shifting my stencil, I got a nice white border around each pumpkin. I finished my pumpkin background by inking the stem and leaf parts using vintage photo oxide ink.

Next I stamped a whole bunch of images from Boo To You, including the large pumpkin shaped one, on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and then colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers, and I went with the traditional black, orange and yellow color palette.

Once everything was colored, I cut a vellum panel, slightly smaller than my pumpkin panel, and attached images at the very top and at the very bottom of it using 1mm foam squares, leaving a large space in the center for my pumpkin shaped group of tiny images. And speaking of which, I wanted this big group of images to have a frame all around to really make it pop, so I used the pumpkin coordinating die from Boo To You to trace the shape on dark brown cardstock, I fussy cut it and attached my pumpkin shaped group of images on top of it using liquid glue.

I stuck my big pumpkin on the vellum panel using liquid glue. I white heat embossed my "Boo to you" greeting from Boo To You on black cardstock, cut it using the coordinating die, and attached it on the bottom right hand corner of the pumpkin, along with three more bats. Next I added liquid glue at the back of my vellum panel, but just behind the images, and I attached it on my Layered Pumpkins kraft panel. And as always I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh - Monochromatic Ghost Shaker Card

samedi 12 août 2023

Hi there,

I'm so excited to be back with this new monochromatic card showcasing some of the brand new items from the latest Pretty Pink Posh release, including the amazing Ghost Shaker die set. And as you can see, I went for a black + white + silver color palette to achieve a monochromatic look!

I started off by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25 inches black & white stripy panel as a card base. Next I cut a Strathmore bristol smooth panel, slightly smaller than the stripy one, and I used oxide inks to color that panel. I first applied lost shadow all over the panel, next I added hickory smoke and black soot on the edges, and then I added diamond shapes using the Layered Argyle stencil along with black soot oxide ink.

Of course, I added texture to my panel: I mixed black soot oxide ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters on the paper, and I did the same with copic opaque white ink. And once my panel was dry, I attached it to the black & white stripy panel using double sided tape.

Next I worked on the Ghost Shaker, and started by cutting the different pieces: a grey polka dot plain ghost, a vellum plain ghost, a clear acetate plain ghost, and a white ghost frame. I wanted to tone down the grey polka dot ghost so I stuck the vellum ghost on top of it. I attached the acetate ghost at the back of the ghost frame, and added thin foam tape all along the ghost shape. A little bit of Ghostly Friends mix and Sparkling clear sequins inside the ghost frame, and then I stuck the grey polka dot ghost on the foam tape to close my Ghost Shaker.

I wanted to bring more white to my card, so I cut three small white ghosts, as well as three vellum ghosts, using a die from Halloween House, and I attached a vellum ghost at the back of each white ghost to bring more interest. And I added a tiny piece of black cardstock at their back to make their eyes. I also cut a bunch of silver glitter stars using a die from Halloween House and another one from Halloween Mug Additions.

Next I worked on my greetings. I silver hot foiled the Hot Foil Boo Script on black cardstock, and used the Large Boo Shadow coordinating die to cut it. And I silver heat embossed the phrase "Let's spook up some fun" from Sentiment Strips Halloween Strips on black cardstock, and cut it using a die from Sentiment Strips. And finally I attached everything on my Layered Argyle black & white panel using liquid glue for the Ghost Shaker, and 2mm foam squares for all the other pieces.

Sunny Studio - Color My World 3D Card

jeudi 10 août 2023

Hey there,

I'm thrilled to be back on Sunny Studio's blog today with this super colorful 3D card featuring crayons that I created using stamps from Color My World. Even before figuring out which design I wanted to make for my card, I knew that I wanted to have my crayons in rainbow order.

So I pulled out all my Lawn Fawn premium dye inks, and stamped a bunch of crayons. I used the first three layers to build the colorful parts of the crayons, and then added the black details. Here are the inks I used for each crayon:

- Red: peachy keen + wild rose + guava
- Orange: peach fuzz + carrot + fate tan
- Yellow: butter + lemonade + sunflower
- Green: celery stick + freshly cut grass + jalapeno
- Aqua: kiddie pool + mermaid + peacock
- Blue: moonstone + forget me not + blue jay
- Purple: fresh lavender + grape soda + grape jelly
- Pink: ballet slippers + bubblegum + plastic flamingo
- Black details: black licorice

I cut all the crayons using the coordinating die, and then moved on to the 3D card base. I decided to use the same color combo as the real Crayola boxes, meaning that I cut all the card base pieces out of dark yellow cardstock, and the decorative pieces out of a green gingham paper from the Joyful Holiday paper pack. I built the whole card base, and then white heat embossed my "You color my world" greeting from Color My World on the front of the card.

Next step was to stick all the crayons inside the card. And to make that part quick and easy, I cut three acetate strips as wide as the card, and attached nine crayons on each strip in a rainbow order using liquid glue. And once I had my three rows of crayons attached on the acetate strips, I stuck each acetate strip inside the card using glue dots. And that's it! I hope that you like this bright and colorful 3D rainbow crayons card! Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week!

Lawn Fawn - Back To School Platform Pop-Up Card

mardi 8 août 2023

Hi there,

I'm thrilled to be back on Lawn Fawn YouTube Channel & Blog with this super cute and colorful back to school platform pop-up card. I made my first and only back to school card back in 2017, so it was definitely time to create a new one! As very often, I picked a bunch of stamps from different sets, so make sure to check the video and/or the list of supplies for more details.

I started off by cutting all the Platform Pop-Up pieces and Platform Pop-Up Wrap Around pieces out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock: two main pieces, a back panel, three grass borders, two hillside wrap around panels, and three t-shape pieces, and I used stencils along with oxide inks to color all those elements. Please check the video down below for more details.

Next I folded all the score lines, and assembled my platform pop-up card base.

I stamped all the images on Transotype perfect coloring paper using Jet black ink, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all, colored everything using my alcohol markers, and then attached them on the card base: some of them on the hillsides and on the back panel using 1mm foam squares, and the others on the grass borders using liquid glue.

Finally I white heat embossed my "May your year be filled with happiness" greeting from Tree Before 'n Afters on Storm Cloud cardstock, and trimmed it into a small banner that I stuck on the front of the platform.
