Under The Sea Card Series - Magical Ocean - Double Slider Surprise Card

Hey there, 

The last days have been pretty hot here in France, so I think an under the sea card is  perfect to end this sweaty week! Plus, it's been a while since my last double slider surprise so I'm very happy to share this card.

I started by cutting the different double slider elements: 2 panel pieces, 2 pocket pieces and a track piece. All out of bristol cardstock. I folded the score lines on both pocket pieces, and applied double sided tape on the tabs.

I did the same thing on the track piece, front and back. Next i applied double sided tape on one edge of a plastic strip, and i attached it around the track piece. I placed the seam on the left and applied tape on it. And i did the same thing at the back but on the opposite side.

Next i cut one more pocket piece and one more panel piece out of bristol cardstock and used them to die cut grass and hill borders.

I colored the panels and hill borders: i first applied tattered rose distress ink, and then festive berries ink to add more depth. The grass borders were colored using victorian velvet and seedless preserves distress inks. I also added texture to the panels by splattering water and some drops festive berries ink. Next i layered the different borders on the panels.

I aligned the track piece on the mat and attached the right panel on it. I turned the track piece over and stuck the other panel down. And i die cut notches on both sides of the front pocket panel. Next i attached both pocket pieces together, stuck the track piece down inside, and closed the pocket.

My images were stamped on neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink and colored using my alcohol markers. I cut them using the coordinating dies and before attaching them, i stamped some fish silhouettes to add more interest to the background.

When i was done adhering the images, i layered a gold glitter panel, a pink strip panel and a guava panel on a ballet slippers card base, and finally stuck my double slider on top.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #55 - Living the life

Hello there, 

Today I'm offering you a quiet and peaceful moment, far from all the every day hustle. Come have some rest and listen to the sweet sound of the waves ^^

I started by cutting the elements to build my beach cabin. I applied vintage photo distress ink on the strips of kraft paper to give them some texture. I used the same ink to color the roofs, and I also added a touch of ground espresso ink on the edges for more texture. I wanted the door and shutters to have a worn out look, so I quickly and lightly applied aged mahogany ink on these pieces.

Next I assembled the cabin by gluing each strip/wood plank on a piece of kraft cardstock. I trimmed off the excess of wood plank, adhered the door and the window, attached the cabin to another kraft piece, and layered the three roofs to create kind of a roof made of straw.

For the background, I cut a large bristol panel, a strip and a wavy border. On the large panel, I used a homemade cloud stencil and tumbled glass distress ink to create the sky. On the wavy border, I used cracked pistachio and peacock feathers to create a nice clear water. And on the strip I used scattered straw to create the sand. Next I added more texture on all the background elements by splattering the same inks.

I stamped all my images on Neenah solar white cardstock using potting soil ink from Ranger and colored them using my spectrum noir markers. The images were cut using the coordinating dies, I layered the wavy border and the sand border onto my cloud panel, and next I assembled everything using foam adhesive squares.

I stamped my sentiment using black versafine ink, added white highlights on the images and finally applied white nuvo drops in the center of the flowers.

Holiday Card Series 2019 - Waiting for Santa - Magic Picture Changer Card

Hello there,

It's time for my Holiday card series! I know it may be a little bit too early but I always need a lot of xmas cards and I have some ideas so I thought it would be nice to start creating a few cards.

I started by cutting a long and a short piece of bristol cardstock. On the short piece I placed santa as a guide, stamped some trees and masked them. I did the same thing on the long piece, and then I applied chipped sapphire oxide ink on my panels to create a simple night sky.

I removed the masking paper, and colored the trees on both panels.

Next, on the short panel, I used the moving piece die as a guide to place and stamp Santa using black versafine ink. And then I white heat embossed snowflakes on the two panels.

When both panels were heat set, I used the dies to cut the magic picture changer elements. I applied thin double sided tape on the tabs of the pocket piece, front and back, and folded the lines. Next I applied powder on the flaps and along the tabs; this way the mechanism will work smoothly.

I put the moving piece tab into the pocket piece slot, and I put each flap into a notch. I pulled the large moving piece tab and played with it a few times to check if it was working well. I aligned the moving piece and closed the pocket. And finally I used a microfiber to get rid of the excess of powder.

Next I cut some other elements: a wallpaper panel, a coordinating frame, a window frame and two pieces of cardstock glued together for the floor. I attached the frame and the window frame on my pocket piece. And all the images were stamped on bristol cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink, colored using my spectrum noir markers and cut using the coordinating dies.

I added a blind to my window and adhered the pocket piece to my 6 x 4 wallpaper panel. I applied three layers of foam tape at the bottom of the panel and attached the floor. And finally I stuck all the images down using foam adhesive squares and liquid glue.

Hello Bluebird - Life in green - Monochromatic card

Hey there,

It's been a little while since my last Hello Bluebird video so I'm very happy to share with you this monochromatic card.

I started by creating the background. I cut a 6 x 5,5 inches panel out of Strathmore bristol cardstock and chose some distress inks: shabby shutters, mowed lawn and black soot.

First I covered the entire panel using shabby shutters, next mowed lawn, but just on the edges, and to add more depth, I added black soot on the edges as well. I splattered water and dried it to create some kinds of fireflies, and splattered drops of mowed lawn and black soot inks on the edges to accentuate the circle shape.

I stamped my images on Neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink and colored them using my Spectrum Noir markers. When the lights were done, I applied white blizzard Nuvo drops on each one, and set them aside to dry until the next day.

The trees were colored using mowed lawn and black soot distress inks and I added white highlights on them. The flowers and mushrooms were colored using the same markers as the ones I used on the lights. I added white highlights and also white Nuvo drops on the mushrooms. Everything was attached using foam squares, except for the lights that were attached using glue dots.

And a fairy is not a real fairy without sparkles so I applied clear shimmer on her wings. And finally I adhered my panel on a black card base and added some clear sequins here and there to add more shine and sparkles to the scene.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #54 Perfect for Parties - Trio of Summer Party Invitations

Hello there,

Today I'm sharing with you a trio of summer party invitations for the Lawn Fawnatics "Perfect for Parties" Challenge. These three cards follow the same design but with different colors and characters. Hope you'll like them!

I'm also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp "Vacation" Monday Challenge.

I first started by cutting circles out of Strathmore bristol cardstock. And these are the different distress inks I used: spun sugar and picked raspberry,  squeezed lemonade and mustard seed, and tumbled glass and salty ocean.

I begin with the lightest color that  applied all over the circle. Then I used a stencil and the darkest color to create rays. And I also added drops of the same color.

Next I stamped a lot of images on Neenah solar white cardstock using potting soil ink by Ranger. And I colored them using my alcohol markers. When the coloring was done, I cut the images using the coordinating dies, and started to assemble the cards.

I started by attaching the circle on a cream card base using foam tape. Next I stuck a hill border down using foam adhesive squares. It was cut out of craft cardstock and my sentiment was white heat embossed on it. The palm trees were attached using foam adhesive squares and the thread using liquid glue. And then I adhered the rest of the images using liquid, foam squares or glue dots.

I stamped sun glasses on the sun and used a black gel pen to make them stand out. And I also added three speech bubbles on each card. One saying "You're invited" and two smaller ones saying "Yay!"

Some final touches: I used a white gel pen to add highlights on the sunglasses, and I applied white Nuvo drops in the center of the flowers.

Summer Card Series with Lawn Fawn - A day at the beach - Magic Picture Changer Card

Hi there,

It's time for another summer card featuring two cute little kids having icecreams on the beach after they've built a sand castle. Hope you'll like it.

To begin, I cut a large panel and a small panel, both from bristol cardstock. On the small one I stamped the whole castle. Next I masked most of it and stamped it on the large panel. And then I masked both images.

To create the sky I used a homemade cloud stencil and salty ocean distress ink.

I colored castles using the same markers and also added dots of the same colors and white dots using my white gel pen. This way I get a nice sand texture.

Next I cut my magic picture changer elements out of these two panels. I applied double sided tape on the thin tabs of the pocket piece, front and back, folded the score lines, and taped the tabs down. To help the mechanism work easily, I applied some powder on the flaps outside and inside and also along the tabs. Next I put the large tab into the pocket piece through the slot, and insert each flap into the coordinating notch.

I made sure everything was aligned, applied more powder, and closed the pocket piece. I played with it a few times to check if it was working well, and used a microfiber to remove the excess of powder.

I cut the coordinating frame out of bristol cardstock, colored it the same way as before and attached it to the pocket piece. For the sand, I cut a hill border from bristol cardstock and colored it using scattered straw, vintage photo and ground espresso distress inks.

The rest of the images was stamped on bristol cardstock and colored using my alcohol markers. I stamped the kids using a very light beige ink, drew their outfit using a pencil and colored them. When the outlining was done, I stamped sunglasses and a smile on their faces using black versafine ink.

I cut the pull tab out of red cardstock to match some elements of the card and attached it. Next I applied strong double sided tape at the back of the pocket piece and attached it to a panel that I colored the same way as the first panels. I applied three layers of foam tape on both sides of the pocket piece and attached the sand border. And finally the images were attached using glue dots and foam adhesive squares.

Miss Ink Stamps - Central Perk - Inside Shadow Box Card

Hey there,

I'm so excited to share with you my first card as a guest designer for Miss Ink Stamps. It's a new brand and I'm very honored thay they asked me to design for them. Every first wednesday of each month, I'll share a project using one of their sets. 

For this first project, I used the Java Joe's stamp set.

I first started by stamping my images on Neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. I fussy cut them and colored them using my alcohol markers. I don't know about you, but this Java Joe's stamp set reminds me of the Central Perk in Friends, so I tried to use the same colors as in the TV series.

When all the the coloring was done, I cut two pieces of dark brown cardstock (I followed a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire)

To decorate the inside, I started by attaching a wood panel. Next I cut a square out of this wood panel. I took a piece of green cardstock, positioned the same square die and a bigger one to create a frame. And to make it darker, I simply apply mowed lawn distress ink on it. And next I glued it on my panel. I also attached the floor and a baseboard. And to complete the inside, I attached a skyline pattern paper.

On the outside panel, I stuck a brick pattern paper and a piece of grey cardstock to get a nice New York style. Next I attached the inside panel into the outside panel. And finally all my images were attached using foam adhesive squares.

And this is the final result. What do you think of it? Maybe we'll find Monica Phoebe Rachel Chandler Joey and Ross inside, putting the world to rights while sipping coffees. Anyway, i hope you like this card. Thank you so much for watching and see you next time, bye.

Lawn Fawnatics "Spectacular Skies" Challenge - Rainbow Whirl

Hi there,

I don't usually use a few supplies on my cards, you know that I like to stamp and color a lot of images to create busy scenes but this time, the sky had to be the main focus so I restrain myself.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches bristol panel and picked some distress inks in pastel tones: shaded lilac, tumbled glass, cracked pistachio, twisted citron, squeezed lemonade, wild honey, picked raspberry and spun sugar. And I took out my sponge daubers and played with the inks, applying them in a circle to get a rainbow whirl. When it was done I splattered water on the panel, dried it using paper towel, and also splattered white paint using the bottle hose for large drops and a tooth brush for tiny dots.

Because the background was in soft tones, I thought it would be nice to use a lightest color than my usual black. So I chose a brown ink which is Potting Soil by Ranger. It can be used with both alcohol markers and watercolors.

When the coloring was done, I cut the images using the coordinatings dies, and placed the images and cloud dies on my panel, just to get a general idea of the scene, I taped the dies down and sent the panel to my die cutting machine. I also cut the same clouds out of gold glitter paper that I glued behind the rainbow clouds.

I wanted the clouds to be hanging in this rainbow whirl, so I stamped strings above them using versamark ink and white heat embossed them. And my sentiment was also heat embossed using gold and white embossing powders.

Next I cut a white card base and attached my rainbow panel on it. On the cloud spots I put foam adhesive squares and attached the clouds. I adhered the ladders using liquid glue, and the unicorn and fairies were attached using foam adhesive squares. I added white highlights on the unicorn, fairies and ladders, applied clear shimmer to the unicorn's hair and fairies wings, and finally added clear sequins for more sparkles.
