Simon Says Stamp - Spring Flowers - No Line Coloring

mardi 27 mars 2018

Hello there,

For this card, I tried something new for me: no line coloring. I know it's a technique a lot of crafters use, but I had never got a chance to try it.

So it's pretty simple: I first started by stamping the image using a light beige ink on bristol smooth cardstock. Then I colored the flowers and leaves by first applying color with the markers and next by spreading it using a wet brush.

I gold heat embossed my sentiment, and added some clear droplets to finish the card.

Diorama Card Series - Wedding in Hawaii

samedi 24 mars 2018

Hey there,

Today I'm back with a new diorama featuring supplies from Craftin Desert Divas. This month mood board is about weddings so I thought a little ceremony scene at sunset would be nice ^^

I first started by cutting the elements to build the base. All the measurements are noted in the video. Then I applied different colors of distress inks on the big panel to create the sunset sky. To add more details, I cut the top of it using a scalloped border die.

Then I die cut more elements to build the scene: the arch was made using an inside scalloped circle and an inside scalloped rectangle and was colored using two shades of brown distress inks, two sand borders that I colored using brown shades and one ocean border that I colored using two shades of blue distress inks.

I also die cut elements to build a flower that I colored using pink color, and two leaves that I colored in green.

Next step: assemble everything. I attached the insert pieces on the left side on my big panel and folded down the right side to finalize and close the diorama. Then I attached all the elements: the ocean and sand borders on the insert pieces, the arch and the happy couple. Applied clear glitter on the flowers, and attached some birds in the background to finish the card.

Lawn Fawn - Fun in the Jungle - Shaker Card

lundi 19 mars 2018

Hello there,

It's been a long time since my last Lawn Fawn card so I'm very excited to share this one with you. And I'm using alcohol markers, it had been a while too, since I was pretty obsessed with my zigs ^^

I had this "Critters in the Jungle" stamp set for a few months and never got a chance to play with.

I first started by stamping and coloring all the images using my alcohol markers, like said above. I got some new colors at Christmas so I tried some new combinations.

On a white card base, I attached a leaf pattern paper panel, and then built the window panel for my shaker. For that, I die cut two windows from a white panel using a rectangle die from the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up die set (by Lawn Fawn). At the back of it, I attached a piece of clear acetate and stripes of double sided foam tape to create dimension. Placed the sequins, and then close the shaker.

Finally, I attached all my images using glue dots.

Craftin Desert Divas - Lifetime of Happiness

vendredi 16 mars 2018

Hello there,

Here is the last card I made for Craftin Desert Divas March Release featuring the new "Hitched" stamp set and "Bright Horizons" stencil. It's pretty simple with some masking, ink blending and zig coloring.

I first started by tracing a half circle at the bottom of my bristol cardstock and on masking paper. Adhered the masking paper on the bristol cardstock and started inking the sky using the stencil. I did the clouds first and then the sun.

Removed the masking paper from the bottom and adhered another piece to hide the sky. I masked the middle part of the bottom and inked the sided using two shades of green distress inks to create grass. Then I masked the grass and applied grey distress ink in the middle part to create the road.

I colored the image using zig markers. Originally, there was cans behind the car but I cut them thinking of another project that I finally didn't make ^^ Traced white thick lines on the road using a white gel pen and then attached the image using foam squares.

I gold heat embossed the first part of my sentiment, and stamped the part using a dark grey ink, softer than black. I added some extra green touches to the grass, attached my panel to a white card base, and glued some sequins to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Picnic

mercredi 14 mars 2018

Hello there,

As said in my previous blog post, spring is coming and so is picnic season! Look at these cuties, they're already having some fresh lemonade and are just waiting for you! ^^

I first started by partially die cutting a scalloped circle from white cardstock to create the background window. On piece of bristol smooth cardstock (perfect for ink blending), I traced the window space and then applied different colors of distress inks.

At the back of my window panel, I put stripes of double sided foam tape. I stamped my sentiment, and die cut it using an oval die.

Then I attached all the layers: the distress ink panel on a piece of kraft cardstock, and the window panel on top of it. I also die cut a grass border from green felt, glued it at the bottom of the window, and attached the piece of plaid paper on top of it.

Colored my images using zig markers, and attached them using foam squares. Glued the panel to a white card base, and added some clear sequins here and there to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Spring Fairy

lundi 12 mars 2018

Hey there,

Spring is almost here, so I think this simple and colorful card is perfect to be sharing. The fairy is from the new "Seasonal Fairies" stamp set. I also used the new "Tag It" die, and some other supplies that are listed at the end.

This card was inspired by a card from Sandra Wieffering.

I first started by stamping and fussy cutting my image. I also die cut the other elements: a scalloped rectangle from white cardstock, a tag from a floral paper, a banner from gold glitter paper and two circles, one from white cardstock and one from a leaf paper.

Attached the tag in the middle, and on top of it the circles and the banner. Stamped my sentiment on the white circles. I tied a knot using twine, glued it at the top of the tag and attached a small flower on the knot.

Colored my image using zig markers, and attached it to the panel using foam squares. Attached the panel to a white card base, glued some sequins here and there to finish the card, and applied clear glitter to the wings of the fairy to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Happy Couple

vendredi 9 mars 2018

Hello there,

Wedding season is coming so here is a new set that would be totally appropriate to create wedding invitations, menus or thank you cards, etc. ^^ This new set is called "Hitched", and it's absolutely adorable!

For this card, I first started by stamping, cutting and then coloring my image using zig markers. Then I dry embossed a piece of pink paper using a heart stencil through my big shot. I also die cut a scalloped circle and splattered pink and gold inks on it to kind of create confettis.

Attached the embossed pink paper on a white card base, and adhered the scalloped circle on top of it. Then I gold heat embossed the first part of my sentiment on white cardstock, and die cut the word Happy from dark pink cardstock to create the second part. Glue it on its vellum outline.

Attached my image in the middle of the scalloped circle using foam squares. Did the same thing with the two parts of my sentiment. Die cut a dark pink heart and glued it too on the right side of the couple. Glued some sequins here and there, and applied glossy accents on the word Happy to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Wedding Cake

mercredi 7 mars 2018

Hello there,

Today I'm here to share with you a card showcasing the new "Just Married" stamp set. Aren't these little mice too adorable? I used other CDD supplies on this card, they're listed at the bottom of the article ^^

I first started by tracing diagonal lines on a piece of white cardstock using the scoring tool of my trimmer. I wanted a diamond pattern, kind of a quilted fabric. To accentuate that effect, I added adhesive pearls of different sizes on each intersection.

Then I die cut a scalloped rectangle from white cardstock and attached it in the middle of my quilted panel using foam squares. Perfect to frame my images ^^

Speaking of images, I colored them using my zig markers. I kept the icing on the cake simple because I didn't want it to compete with the mice. I simply applied clear glitter and glossy accents on top of it. I also applied clear glitter on the pink parts of the mice image.

I die cut a banner from white cardstock, and stamped my sentiment on it. From the same cardstock, I die cut leaves and flowers, and built the top part of the frame. Attached the images using foam squares.

I also die cut and colored little flowers, and attached them on the cake using glue dots. Added white enamel dots at their center, applied clear glitter on the leaves and flower at the top, and finally added my sentiment at the bottom.
