Sunny Studio - Love Birds Valentine Ornaments

vendredi 29 décembre 2023

Hello there,

I'm back for the last time of the year with this duo of Valentine ornaments showcasing the ever so sweet Love Birds. And I had so much fun coloring on kraft cardstock for my Merry Mocha see-through tags that I decided to do it again with those lovely birdies.

So I started off by stamping the four birds, the branches, multiple leaves, flowers and hearts on a light kraft cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator and Graph'it brush markers to color them all, and then used the coordinating dies to cut everything.

And I don't know why, but when I color on kraft cardstock I don't feel the need of adding white highlights to my images, but in that case I did add a dot on each bird's eye using a white gel pen, just to make them pop a little bit more.

Next I created my two heart shaped ornaments following the same design for both, so here are the different steps for one:

1. Cut a large Scalloped Heart out of a light brown woodgrain cardstock, another one out of a dark kraft cardstock, and attach them back to back using liquid glue
2. Cut a large Scalloped Heart out of a colored cardstock, and cut a heart shaped window out of it using the largest Stitched Heart 2 to create a heart frame
3. Glue this heart frame on the woodgrain heart panel using liquid glue
4. Cut a small Stitched Heart 2 out of a darker brown cardstock than the one at step 1, stamp and emboss a greeting from Love Birds on that heart, and attach that heart at the back of the ornament using 1mm foam squares

Next I attached my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, added hemp twine to create the handles, and finally tied bows that I added at the top of each ornament using liquid glue.

Sunny Studio - Woolen Mitten Wintery Scene

jeudi 21 décembre 2023

Hello there,

I'm back on Sunny Studio's blog to share my last Christmas card of the year with you, which is actually a big tag. Holiday projects are my favorite, so it's always kind of a bittersweet moment for me, but I'm very excited about 2024 and the new crafty adventures it will bring to us!

For today's little scene, I used the Woolen Mitten as a base to create a wintery landscape. I cut a first mitten out of a snowy sky paper from All Is Bright, a second one out of a grey wavy paper from Subtle Grey Tones, and a third one out of a striped paper from All Is Bright. I trimmed the grey mitten into a wavy border that I stuck at the bottom of the snowy sky mitten, and then attached the striped mitten behind the snowy sky mitten using 1mm foam squares.

Next I decorated the bottom of the mitten using more Woolen Mitten items such as the fold-down piece that I cut out of another striped paper from All Is Bright, the ruffle piece out of vellum, a button out of a red paper from All Is Bright again, and a snowflake out of white glitter cardstock. I also white heat embossed my "Holiday Hugs" greeting from Holiday Hugs on black cardstock, and cut it using the coordinating dies. I added gold thread and tied a bow on the button, and then attached all those pieces on the bottom part of the mitten using 1mm foam squares.

I stamped a few images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers, Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers. Here is the detailed list of the stamp sets I used:

• Snow One Like You - snowman & girl  Feeling Frosty - trees  Snowman Kisses - snowflakes  Scenic Route - lights

Once the coloring was done, I attached the images on the mitten using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. Next I worked on the top of the tag to finish it nicely and started off by punching a hole using my crop-a-dile. I cut two white eyelets using a die from Sliding Window, attached the first one on the front of the mitten, and the second one at the back. I added golden thread, tied a bow using ribbon from my stash, and attached it using liquid glue. And finally I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen. And that's it for my last Christmas project of 2023! I hope you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time.

Pretty Pink Posh - Tree Cover Plate Duo

mercredi 20 décembre 2023

Hello there,

I'm happy to be back today with this duo of festive cards showcasing the Tree Cover Plate die, as well as a few other items from the Pretty Pink Posh October 2023 release.

The first thing I did was to cut two Tree Cover Plate panels: one out of a light pink cardstock, another one out of a light blue cardstock, and I attached each panel on a white card base.

Next I run that same die through my die cutting machine multiple times along with different cardstock: red, pink, green and aqua. And with all those bits and pieces, I filled the blank spots on my two cards. And I also cut a bunch of gold glitter stars using a die from the Halloween Mug Additions, and glued a star at the top of each tree using 1mm foam squares.

For my greeting, I started off by cutting the words "Happy Holidays" from Happy Holiday Shadows two times each out of gold mirror cardstock, and same with the shadow layers that I cut out of vellum. I glued each piece on top of the other, and next on my panels.

And as sub-greetings, I white heat embossed two additional sentiments from Sentiments Strips: Christmas on colored cardstock, trimmed them into scalloped banners using a die from Sentiment Strips, and then attached a banner on each panel using 1mm foam squares again.

Pretty Pink Posh - Holiday Mug Tags

dimanche 17 décembre 2023

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back with this trio of tags showcasing multiple items from Pretty Pink Posh, including the Holiday Mug Additions from the October 2023 release.

I went super colorful and glittery to make those tags, and started off by cutting three Winter Mugs out of different cardstock, and to add a little of interest to those three plain mugs, I used the Deco Leaves stencil along with oxide inks to bring some texture to each mug.

Next I cut all the bits and pieces, and here is a detailed list of the different elements for each mug:

Santa mug
head from Winter Circles  tree sticks, peppermints, beard, moustache, eyebrows, nose, hat, tag, joy from Holiday Mug Additions  candy cane, marshmallows, mug from Winter Mug

Rudolph mug
tree sticks, peppermints, bow, ears, smile, nose, hat, tag, joy from Holiday Mug Additions  candy cane, marshmallows, mug from Winter Mug  head from Fall Mug Additions

Kitty mug
tree sticks, peppermints, hat, bow, tag, joy from Holiday Mug Additions  candy cane, marshmallows, mug from Winter Mug  head, nose from Fall Holiday Mug

I assembled and glued the different pieces on each mug using foam squares and liquid glue. Added fine glitter and chunky glitter at some places, and make my tags even funnier by gluing wiggle eyes on each character. And finally I attached a "Joy" tag on each handle, and tied some ribbon along with golden bells at the top of each tag.

Sunny Studio - Dashing Dachshund Slimline Card

vendredi 15 décembre 2023

Hello there,

I'm back on SunnyStudio's blog today with this adorable slimline card showcasing Santa and three cute pups from Dashing Dachshund, busy delivering presents on Christmas night. Fingers crossed we're on the nice list!

I started off by stamping my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used the matching dies to cut them all, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers. Here is the detailed list of the stamp sets I used:

• Dashing Dachshund - dachshunds, sweaters, reindeer antlers  Penguin Pals - candy canes  Snowman Kisses - snowflakes  North Pole - nice list  Reindeer Games - strings, bells  Santa Claus Lane - Santa, sleigh, sacks

I cut letters to make "Ho Ho Ho" out of gold mirror cardstock and white cardstock using the Chloe Alphabet, and attached the white letters behind the gold mirror ones to create a border.

Next I cut three different slimline panels that I layered on top of each other, attached the images and letters using 1mm foam squares and liquid glue, and stamped "Wishing you a holly jolly Christmas" from Santa Claus Lane below the dachshunds. As always I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh - Build a Stocking Cards + Matching See-Through Stocking Shaker Tags

mercredi 13 décembre 2023

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this set of Pretty Pink Posh Build A Stocking cards and their matching see-through Stocking Shaker tags. I went for my favorite color palette this season, which is red + pink + aqua + green, and did something I almost never do because I find it too messy: I used glitter to make my cards and tags even more festive.

So, let's start with the cards, shall we? I cut two Eyelets Rectangles: an aqua panel and a light pink panel, and used the Layered Stockings stencils to create stockings on both panels along with oxide inks. With the stencil (A) I used worn lipstick, salvaged patina and mowed lawn. With the stencil (B) I used festive berries, peacock feathers and rustic wilderness. And with the stencil (C) I used white pigment ink. And once all the layers were done, I mixed a little bit of copic opaque white ink with water, and used a small brush to make splatters on both panels.

Next I die cut all the elements out of colored cardstock: • the stockings from Build A Stocking • the pine needles and pine cones from Winter Foliage • the snowflakes from Winter Mug • the bows from Holiday Mug Additions

I assembled the different pieces, attached everything on my panels using 1mm foam squares and liquid glue, and then I created two identical "Merry Christmas" greetings. I white heat embossed "Merry" from Sentiment Strips: Christmas on a dark grey cardstock and trimmed it using a die from Sentiment Strips. I cut "Christmas" from Merry Christmas Shadow out of gold mirror cardstock, and its shadow out of vellum, I layered both pieces on top of each other, and attached my two-part greetings below the stockings on each panel. And finally I added glitter at different places, and a Metallic Gold Pearl in the center of each snowflake.

And I thought it would be fun to make matching tags, so I used the Stocking Shaker to make a couple of see-through tags. I started off by cutting four stockings out of red cardstock. At the back of two of them I attached a piece of acetate that I trimmed all around the stockings. On top of the two other stockings I also attached a piece of acetate that I trimmed. At the back of the first two stockings, I added foam strips, following the shape of my elements. I poured my shaker material inside each stocking: Jolly Santa confetti mix in one, and Candy Cane Lane confetti mix in the other. And then I stuck the two other stockings to the foam strips in order to close my Stocking Shakers.

I cut two additional Stocking Shakers out of white cardstock, cut the top parts off and attached them on my shaker stockings. Next I cut six Merry Script words: three out of aqua cardstock that I layered on top of each other to create dimension, and three out of light pink cardstock. I also white heat embossed two "Holly jolly Christmas" greetings from Sentiment Strips: Christmas on dark grey cardstock, trimmed them using a die from Sentiment Strips, and then attached those pieces on the white section of each stocking.

To be able to hang those see-through stockings, I cut two white handles using a die from Build A Stocking, attached both pieces on the top right hand corner of each stocking, added twine, ribbon and glitter. Finally I cut two white glitter snowflakes using a die from Winter Mug that I attached on each stocking, and glued a Metallic Gold Pearl in the middle of each snowflake as a final decorative touch.

Sunny Studio - Bells & Baubles Shaker Ornament

samedi 9 décembre 2023

Hello there,

I was back on Sunny Studio's blog this week with this shaker ornament showcasing Bells & Baubles. As you can see, I kind of went out of my comfort zone with this gold and black color palette, I'm more of a let-throw-all-the-colors-on-one-single-card kind of girl, but I was actually inspired by my friend and fellow crafter Bobbi Lemanski who recently shared a beautiful set of black + gold + white tags, and I thought it would be a fun challenge for me.

So I started off by stamping five baubles on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Lawn Fawn premium dye inks. I stamped each image twice to get a nice impression, and then used the coordinating dies to cut everything. Here are the color combinations I picked:  golden baubles: butter + sunflower + no. 2 pencil  black baubles: manatee + hippo + black licorice  toppers: no. 2 pencil.

I cut a scalloped oval frame out of black cardstock using the largest die from Scalloped Oval Mat 1 and the largest die from Stitched Oval 2. I also cut an acetate panel using the largest die from Scalloped Oval Mat 1 again, and attached that acetate panel at the back of my black scalloped frame using liquid glue. I stamped my "Merry Christmas" greeting from Bells & Baubles at the bottom of the acetate panel using white stazon ink.

I attached the baubles directly on the acetate using 1mm foam squares, and added golden threads that I secured and stuck at the top back of the frame using thin pieces of tape. I added foam strips at the back of my frame, all along the oval shape, and poured my shaker material inside the acetate window: golden sequins from my stash, and White Snowflake Confetti.

Next I created the handle for my ornament. I cut two black pieces using the smallest die from Stitched Arch, and attached both elements back to back using liquid glue. I also cut two gold mirror eyelets using a die from Sliding Window, attached one of them on the front of my handle, and the second at the back.

Using the largest die from Scalloped Oval Mat 1 again, I cut a panel out of a Classic Sunburst black paper, and attached my handle piece at the top back using liquid glue. I cut another scalloped panel out of black cardstock that I glued at the back of the other, and then stuck that panel to the foam strips to totally close my shaker ornament. To finish it nicely, I added golden thread on the handle, tied a bow using ribbon from my stash and attached it at the top of the frame using liquid glue.
