Sunny Studio - Pristine Poinsettia Mini Cards

jeudi 26 octobre 2023

Hello there,

I'm back again on Sunny Studio's blog with more poinsettias and those three bright and cheerful mini cards using the Pristine poinsettia die set. Love this set so much! Last year I used that same set to make a cold and frosty holiday card, and this time I went for more traditional colors.

I started off by creating and assembling three almost identical card bases following the same process:
1. Cut three Stitched Rectangles out of white cardstock
2. Cut three All Is Bright panels using Mini Mat & Tag 1 + Mini Mat & Tag 2 + Mini Mat & Tag 4 dies
3. Cut two Dotted Diamond Landscape panels, and cut three small Stitched Rectangles out of those two panels. Color those three textured panels using spun sugar and worn lipstick distress inks. Add splatters using festive berries mixed water, and white ink mixed with water
4. Layer and attach the panels on top of each other, and then on card bases

Next I cut all the flower, greenery and berry pieces using dies from Pristine PoinsettiaWinter Greenery and Spring Greenery. I cut the flower elements out of three different shades of red cardstock, and cut the greenery elements out of brown, aqua, green, white, vellum and gold cardstock.

I first started by layering and attaching the Pristine poinsettia pieces together using liquid glue. Next I stuck a flower on each card base, and then added greenery around each one of them. I added berries here and there, and glued a clear droplet on each to bring more shine and dimension.

The last step was to create three greetings, and I used the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from Bells & Baubles that I white heat embossed on black cardstock, cut using the matching dies, and attached on the opposite corner of each poinsettia using 2mm foam squares. And finally I added highlights and details at some places using a white gel pen.

Sunny Studio - Pretty Poinsettia Shaker Tags

vendredi 20 octobre 2023

Hey there,

I'm back on Sunny Studio's blog with this set of three Christmas shaker tags showcasing Pretty Poinsettia, a gorgeous and very easy to use layering stamp set. Every year, I like to create tags, you can put them on presents, hang them in the Christmas tree or in the house, etc. I personally send them to my crafty friends abroad along with a holiday card ^^

I knew I wanted to have three poinsettias on each tag, so, with the help of the layering guide on the Pretty Poinsettia product page, I started off by stamping nine poinsettias on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using the different layering stamps from the set along with Lawn Fawn dye inks: for the first layer (1a) I used peachy keen, for the second layer (1b) I used guava, and for the third layer (1c) I used lobster. Next I used my heat gun to dry the inks and prevent them from mixing into each other, I gold heat embossed the center of each poinsettia, and then cut my nine poinsettias using the matching die.

I gold heat embossed several leaves using the stamps 2a and 3a. And next I used Altenew dye inks to create green leaves. For the first layers (2a and 3a) I used frayed leaf, and for the second layers (2b alternate and 3b alternate) I used forest shades. And I used the matching dies to cut all the leaves.

While I was into the stamping process, I took the advantage of the opportunity to white heat emboss three Holiday Greetings on vellum that I cut using the coordinating dies.

Next I worked on the shaker tags, and started off by cutting all the different elements in three using the Scalloped Tag Square die set: the front panel out of red cardstock (and I used a smaller square die from my stash to cut an opening inside of each of those panels), acetate panels, vellum panels and All Is Bright panels. And here is how I built each shaker tag:

1. Attach the acetate panel at the back of the red panel using liquid glue along the four edges
2. Still at the back of that red panel, add foam strips on the four edges, use a powder tool along the inside edges of the foam to make it non sticky, clean the acetate using a cloth, and pour some shaker accessories on the acetate (here I used gold sequins from my stash)
3. Attach the vellum panel on top of the pattern paper panel using liquid glue along the four edges (this step is optional, I did this to mute the colors on the pattern papers a little bit)
4. Attach your vellum + pattern paper panel at the back of the red panel, directly on the foam strips to close the shaker tag

Next I created a handle at the top of each tag using gold thread, and added bows for more cuteness. And then I attached all the elements (poinsettias, leaves and greetings) on the tags using 3mm glue dots mostly to stick really well on the acetate, and also 1mm foam squares. And to add more shine to those tags, I finally added clear droplets here and there directly on the poinsettias.

Lawn Fawn - Fall Birds

jeudi 19 octobre 2023

Hi there,

I'm so happy to be back on Lawn Fawn YouTube Channel & Blog today with this bright and cheerful Fall card featuring the Winter Birds that I turned into Autumn birds on a beautiful leafy kraft panel.

I started off by cutting a Large Stitched Rectangle 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel out of Kraft cardstock, and the first thing I did on that panel was to add a first layer of leaves using the Fall Leaves Background stencils along with White pigment ink. Using white ink on my kraft panel before applying the colored inks will make those colored inks stand out even more.

So once my panel was covered with white autumn leaves, I added colors. With the first Fall Leaves Background stencil, I used spun sugar and worn lipstick oxide inks, and with the second stencil I used scattered straw and spiced marmalade oxide ink. And before applying those oxide inks, I made sure to shift the stencils a little bit towards the bottom right corner in order to create a white border around my colorful leaves. Feel welcome to watch the process video down to see what I mean ;-)

To make my panel less plain, I added some texture to it. I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water first and used a small brush to make small splatters on the piece of paper, and I did the same with vintage photo oxide ink.

Next I moved on to the coloring. I stamped all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Jet Black ink, cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Graph’it brush markers and Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers.

Once everything was colored, I embossed the "Have a happy day" greeting from You Autumn Know using Clear Embossing ink and White embossing powder on a Paper Bag Simple Wavy Banner that I attached on my panel, along with all the images, using 1mm foam squares and liquid glue. And as always I finished my card by adding highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

I had so much fun creating today's card! As very often I mixed and matched pieces from different sets to help me set up my card, and I started off by cutting a Pierced Snowflakes panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, and from that panel I cut an Eyelet Rectangle panel that I colored using spun sugar and worn lipstick distress inks.

I added texture to my panel to give it more interest: I mixed some worn lipstick distress ink with water, some festive berries distress ink with water, and some copic opaque white ink with water, and then used a small brush to make splatters of those three different mix on my piece of paper. Once it was dry, I stuck my panel pink panel on an A2 white card base.

Next I cut all the bits and pieces out of different colored cardstock, and used oxide inks to add shadows and give everything more character. Here is a detailed list of the items I picked:

Love From Afar: the Earth, banner, heart, doves, greeting  Winter Foliage: poinsettias, pine leaves, berries

I arranged and attached everything on my Eyelet Rectangle panel using foam squares and liquid glue, and as final details, I added highlights on the leaves and flowers using a white gel pen, glossy accents on the berries to make them shine, and finally a little bit of morning dew nuvo drop on each poinsettia to bring sparkles to the card.

Sunny Studio - Baking Spirits Bright Box Card

vendredi 13 octobre 2023

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back on Sunny Studio's blog today with this new 3D card showcasing the adorable cookies from Baking Spirits Bright, and as you can see I used those cute images to create a magical gingerbread scene.

I started off by stamping the images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, as always I used the matching dies to cut them all, and used my alcohol markers to color everything.

I stamped and colored the gingerbread man, the house, the big and small candy canes, two snowmen, the snowflake, and a few trees from Baking Spirits Bright, as well as the gingerbread couple from Christmas Cookies. And I went for my favorite color palette this season, which is brown + red + pink + green + turquoise. After the coloring I added highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

Next I cut all the different pieces to build my 3D card using the Scallop Box Card die set by Pretty Pink Posh. I picked a dark kraft cardstock for the base of the card to match the gingerbread theme, as well as several All Is Bright colorful pattern papers. I stamped my "Sugar & spice make Christmas so nice" greeting from Baking Spirits Bright on the panel that goes on the front of the card in gold and white, I assembled and glued all those elements, and once my card base was done, I attached the images on the inside, and on the outside as well using 3mm glue dots, liquid glue and 1mm foam squares.

Here is a detailed list of the items I picked:
Holiday Birds: birds  Holiday Mug Additions: bow, pine branches  Decorative Birdhouses: birdhouse, heart pieces, pole  Winter Foliage: leaves, poinsettias, branches, pine cone, berries

Pretty Pink Posh - Holiday Stockings & Winter Birds - October 2023 Release

samedi 7 octobre 2023

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be sharing with you this bright and festive sneak peek showcasing several of the Pretty Pink Posh October 2023 Release: the beautiful Holiday Stockings, the lovely Winter Birds, and the amazing Winter Words stencil.

I started off by cutting a Slimline Peekaboo Window panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock. I covered the whole piece of paper with spun sugar distress ink, and then used the Winter Words stencil along with worn lipstick distress ink to print a bunch of "Joy", "Merry & Bright" and "Holly" words all over the panel. I applied a little bit more of worn lipstick distress ink all along the four edges of my panel, and then added some texture: I mixed some festive berries distress ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters on my paper, and did the same with white liquid ink.

Next I moved on to the coloring, and stamped all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers in a bright and colorful palette.

Here is a detailed list of the sets I used:  Holiday Stockings: stockings, holly leaves, candy canes, presents, teddy bear, baubles  Winter Birds: birds  Spring Robins: branches

Once the coloring was done, I attached the images on my Winter Words panel using foam squares, I stuck my panel on an 8,5 x 3,5 inches red & white stripy panel, and then on a white card base. I gold heat embossed the "Happy Holidays" greeting from Sentiment Strips: Christmas on white cardstock, trimmed into a slim banner using a die from Sentiment Strips, and attached it on my panel using foam squares.

To bring more shine to my card, I stuck a few Metallic Gold Pearls here and there, and finally added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen. And that's it! I hope that you like this cute and festive card. Thank you so much for stopping by, see you soon!

Sunny Studio - Holiday Hugs - Halloween Version

vendredi 6 octobre 2023

Hi there,

I'm thrilled to be back on Sunny Studio's blog with this cute Halloween card showcasing Holiday Hugs, and once again, I'm happy to show you that this set can be used all year long. I've already used it on a Fall themed card, and today we're getting in a spooky mood.

I used the same design as my Fall themed card, and started by stamping all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers. And to get in a spooky mood, I did what I often do: I went through my Sunny Studio collection to find images that would fit the theme perfectly. Here are the sets I used:

• Holiday Hugs: bear, cup
• Bewitching: witch hat
• Little Birdie: birds (to make crows)
• Fall Scenes: small bats
• Baby Elephants: star balloons
• Too Cute To Spook: pumpkins, smiles, big bat, stars
• Balloon Rides: banners

Next I cut a Frilly Frame Eyelet Lace Strathmore bristol smooth panel, added texture to it using the Dotted Diamond Portrait backdrop, and colored it using hickory smoke and black soot distress inks. I mixed some black soot distress ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters on the panel, and did the same with white ink.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Amazing Argyle purple pattern paper, stuck it to an A2 purple card base, and attached my Frilly Frame panel on top of it using foam tape. I white heat embossed my "Happy Halloween!" greeting from Too Cute To Spook on a black banner, and attached it on my panel, along with all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. As always I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.
