Pretty Pink Posh - Big Halloween Cupcake Mix & Match

samedi 31 août 2024

Hi there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this spooky cute card featuring several brand new die sets from the Pretty Pink Posh August 2024 ReleaseBig Halloween CupcakeSpooky Mug Additions and Ghost Holder. I absolutely loved mixing and matching items from different sets to make this card, and I hope it will inspire you to do the same.

To make the background, I cut a Strathmore bristol smooth panel using the largest Torn Rectangle die, and colored it using pink shades. I first covered the entire panel with spun sugar oxide ink for a nice and even base, and then applied and blended worn lipstick oxide ink on the edges to darken my panel a little bit. I mixed some black soot oxide ink with water and used a small brush to add splatters to my panel, and did the same with copic opaque white ink mixed with water. And to add even more texture and interest to my panel, I used the Halloween Words stencil along with white paste to make a fun word background.

While my panel was drying, I cut all the pieces out of colored cardstock, vellum and pattern paper. Here is a detailed list of the products I used:  Big Halloween Cupcake - cupcake wrap, cream, cake, dripping icing, pumpkins, candy corn, spider webs, bones  Spooky Mug Additions - spiders, ghosts, fences, pumpkins  Ghost Holder - bats, "boo"  Halloween Mug Additions - spiders, tiny coffin, hat  Big Easter Cupcake - sign.

I assembled and attached everything on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares mostly, as well as liquid glue and 3mm glue dots, leaving enough space at the bottom for my greeting. I embossed "Let's spook up some fun" from Sentiment Strips: Halloween in black on yellow cardstock, and trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die. I used another die from that set to cut a larger strip out of black cardstock, stuck the yellow strip on top of the black one using 1mm foam squares, and attached the whole piece below the pumpkins using foam squares again. I glued Onyx Pearls on the ghosts and largest spiders to give them funny eyes, and finally added highlights and details to all the bits and pieces using a white gel pen.

Sunny Studio - Wood Barrel Autumn Scene

jeudi 29 août 2024

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this autumn card featuring the Wood Barrel, brand new from the Sunny Studio Fall & Winter 2024 Release, that I mixed with many other things to create this lovely still life autumn scene.

I started off by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25 inches kraft panel that I stenciled using a fall leaves stencil from my stash. When I stencil on kraft, I often like to create a white base first in order to make my colors pop, so that's what I did here, and then I used peacock feathers, fossilized amber, peeled paint, carved pumpkin, festive berries and vintage photo oxide inks to create a colorful background. I mixed some vintage photo oxide ink with water and added splatters to my panel, and then did the same with copic opaque white ink.

Next I cut all the bits and pieces, starting with a Fancy Frame Rectangle that I cut out of light brown woodgrain cardstock, colored with vintage photo oxide ink on the edges, and attached to my panel using 1mm foam squares. Next I cut the Wood Barrel out of kraft cardstock and silver mirror cardstock. The sunflower is from Botanical Backdrop, the leaves and acorns are from Autumn Greenery, and the pumpkins are from Pumpkin Patch. I cut all those pieces out of colored cardstock that match with the background, added more depth to each element using oxide inks and copic opaque white ink, and once everything was dry, I stuck all the pieces to my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

For my greeting, I started off by cutting my Brilliant Banner 3 pieces out of dark kraft cardstock. I added a little bit of vintage photo oxide ink on the edges, white heat embossed my "Autumn Blessings" greeting from Turkey Day on the main element, and then attached both pieces right below the Wood Barrel to finish my card.

Pretty Pink Posh - Rainbow Monsters Slimline Card

lundi 26 août 2024

Hello there,

I'm happy to be sharing with you this extra fun and super colorful slimline card featuring two brand new products from the Pretty Pink Posh August 2024 ReleaseBuild A Monster and Candy Bucket. The Candy Bucket comes with different funny faces, including a monster face, which matches the monsters to perfection.

I started off by cutting an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth slimline panel that I colored with bright colors in a rainbow order. I first created a light base with, from left to right, kitsch flamingo, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, salvaged patina and shaded lilac oxide inks. Next I created a pattern on my panel, and thought that big dots would add more fun to the card, so I used the Medium Polka Dots stencil along with, from left to right, picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, fossilized amber, mowed lawn, peacock feathers and wilted violet to create a tone on tone look.

I splattered water all over my panel, and dried it using a paper towel. For contrast, I mixed some black soot oxide ink with water and used a small brush to add more splatters, and for brightness I did the same with copic opaque white ink mixed with water.

Next I cut all the bits and pieces out of different colored cardstock, and assembled everything on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, liquid glue and 3mm glue dots. I used all the Build A Monster dies to create my three little guys, used the bucket and monster face dies from Candy Bucket to create the bucket, and multiple Candy Treats dies to make all the yummy treats.

I embossed my "Sending monster hugs" greeting from Monster Hugs in white, glued Onyx pearls on the monsters' eyes, and Iridescent Mini Star Confetti here and there on the background, applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the monsters' hearts and swirling icing, added a drop of glossy accent on the bucket's eyes, and finally added highlights and details using a white gel pen.

For my background, I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and divided it in half using washi tape to create a night sky in the upper part, and a sidewalk on the lower part.

I started off by covering the bottom part with hickory smoke oxide ink, applying the ink with a light hand. And to create a pavement pattern, I used a brick stencil from my stash, and applied more hickory smoke oxide ink, but this time with a heavier hand.

Next I moved on to the sky, and cut a mask out of a post-it note using a circle die from my stash. I placed the dogs on the brooms on my panel to see where I wanted the moon to be, and attached the circle mask on the paper. From the mask towards the sides of my panel, I applied and blended tumbled glass, salty ocean, prize ribbon, chipped sapphire and black soot oxide inks. I splattered water droplets all over the sky and dried my panel using a paper towel. Next I mixed a drop of liquid stardust with a couple of water droplets, and added more splatters to the sky. I did the same with black soot oxide ink, and the same again with copic opaque white ink, but all over the panel.

I removed the circle mask, and added a little bit of tumbled glass oxide ink on the moon so that it wasn't totally white. I stamped my "Happy howl-o-ween" greeting from Happy Howl-o-ween in black right on the moon, and attached all my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares to bring dimension to my scene. I stuck my panel to a white card base, and finished my card with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

[Instagram Hop] Pretty Pink Posh August 2024 Release - Batty About You

lundi 19 août 2024

Hey there,

Pretty Pink Posh has a new Halloween release filled with bats, monsters, ghosts, and more! If you like cute Halloween products, you will go batty for this collection! Make sure to check my post on Instagram and hop along!

*****

For this Instagram Hop, I went for a mix and match (one of my favorite things to do in card making) of "old" and brand new stamp sets from the Pretty Pink Posh August 2024 Release, showcasing Batty About You mainly, but also several other sets to help me build this cute nighttime scene.

I started off by creating my night sky on an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and went for quite a bold color palette that I absolutely love. I first created a base using, from top to bottom, villainous potion, wilted violet and shaded lilac oxide inks. And I added a whole bunch of bats in my sky using the Scattered Bats stencil along with, from top to bottom, black soot, villainous potion and wilted violet oxide inks for a tone on tone look.

Next I added a lot of texture to my sky to make it more interesting, and started off by splattering water all over the panel that I dried using a paper towel. I mixed a drop of liquid stardust with a few drops of water, and added sparkling splatters to my panel using a small brush. Next I mixed some black soot oxide with water, and added more splatters. And I did the same with copic opaque white mixed with water for a touch of brightness.

I set my panel aside to dry, and stamped all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them using the matching dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers.

As always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Batty About You - bats, moon, branches  Boo To You - black spiders, large spider webs  Halloween Icons - small spider webs, pink spiders  Halloween Signs - bat & sign combo  Halloween Train - blue spiders

When the coloring was done, I embossed in black my "Batty about you" greeting from Batty About You on the sign, and then attached all the images on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and finally added Iridescent Mini Star Confetti here and there to make my sky even shinier.

Sunny Studio - Clucky Chickens Slimline Card

jeudi 15 août 2024

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back with this Sunny Studio slimline card featuring the cutest chicken neighborhood. I've used the Clucky Chickens only one time since it was released, and that was so fun to color the chicks, baby chicks and hen houses again. And because we're about to turn into the fall season with a brand new release, I thought it'd be fun to make a transition and use some autumn colors on this card.

I started off by stamping all the images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers (Ohuhu, Graph'it and Spectrum Noir)

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Clucky Chickens - chicks, baby chicks, hen houses, hay • Seasonal Trees - trees, birdhouses, birds • Barnyard Buddies - fences • Bunnyville - grass.

Next I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel that I colored using oxide inks. I divided my panel horizontally using washi tape, and created a very simple background: grass at the bottom using peeled paint and forest moss distress inks, and the sky at the top using salvaged patina and peacock feathers distress inks. I mixed some forest moss distress ink with water and used a small brush to add splatters to the grass sections, and did the same with peacock feathers distress ink to add splatters to the sky as well. And then I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and used my brush again to add splatters all over the panel.

Once my panel was dry, I attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, and added highlights and details to all of them using a white gel pen. I embossed my "Clucky to have you as my friend" greeting from Clucky Chickens in white on dark kraft cardstock, and  trimmed it into a banner that I attached on my panel using foam squares again.

Once my panel was dry, I white embossed my "Have an apple-solutely awesome day" from Apple-solutely Awesome, and attached all my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, liquid glue and 3mm glue dots. And as always I finished my by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

*****

So, for this blog hop, I went for a spooky night scene, and started off by cutting an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel to create my landscape. At the very bottom, I created a slim stripe using rustic wilderness oxide ink. On the upper part, I applied, from top to bottom, chipped sapphire, prize ribbon and salty ocean oxide inks, and then used the Layered Birch Trees "A" stencil along with, from top to bottom, black soot, chipped sapphire and prize ribbon oxide inks for a tone on tone look and also to give the illusion of spooky woods surrounding the train.

As always I added a whole lot of texture to my panel to make it less flat. I started off by mixing some rustic wilderness oxide ink with water, and I used a small brush to make splatters on the grass section. Next I moved on to the upper part, splattered water all over it and dried the paper with a towel. I mixed a drop of liquid stardust with a couple of water droplets, and added more splatters for some sparkles. I did the same with black soot oxide ink for contrast. And then I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and added splatters all over the panel for brightness.

Next I stamped my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Pinkfresh Studio detail black ink, I cut them all using the matching dies, and then colored everything using my alcohol markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Halloween Train - locomotive, wagons, railroad, gray spiders, bats  Halloween Icons - spider webs, green spiders, cats, hats  Batty About You - branches  Ghost Friends - ghost, pumpkin bucket  Valentine Train - smoke  Halloween Wreath - bats  Boo To You - black spiders, bats, cat

I always like to add dimension to my scenes, so I attached all the images on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, leaving enough space right in the center for my "Spooky Wishes" greeting from Ghost Friends. I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and finished my card by gluing some Iridescent Mini Star Confetti here and there for an extra sparkling touch.
