Isabel Cristina Stamps - Under The Sea

mercredi 31 juillet 2019

Hello there,

Today's card features the brand new Mermaid digital stamp set designed by Isabel Cristina Stamps.

As always I printed the images on Neenah solar white cardstock using my Epson printer, I used my Scan n Cut machine to cut them and my alcohol markers to color them.

I don't know if you've heard of it, they chose the actress and singer Halle Bailey to play The Little Mermaid in the live action movie, so I definitely got my inspiration from her for my mermaids skin color.

For my background, I used four different oxide inks to create a pretty under water scenery:
wilted violet, shaded lilac, peacock feathers, cracked pistachio. I applied the colors and tried to blend them as nicely as possible.

To give the illusion of bubbles, I splattered water on my panel and dried it using a paper towel. And because I always love to add more texture to my projects, I splattered drops using the same oxide inks as before. And also a little bit of black soot drops for more contrast.

The last step to complete the background was to create sun reflection. And for this I simply used a stencil and white pigment ink that I applied at the top of my panel.

I stamped my sentiment using black versafine ink, and stuck all the images down using foam squares. Finally I attached my panel to a white card base and added a bunch of morning dew nuvo drops to create more bubbles.

Purple Onion Designs - White & Blue Winter - Shadow Box Pop-Up Card

samedi 27 juillet 2019

Hello there,

Today I'm sharing with you the last card i made as a guest designer for Purple Onion DesignsDon't forget that you get 25% off their stamps. No code needed and the sale ends this monday (July 29th)

So for this holiday shadow box card, I cut 2 large rectangles: one out of wood pattern paper and one out of white cardstock, both measuring 8 x 4-3/4". And I scored them at half an inch and at one inch from both ends.

On the middle part of the wood panel, I die cut a rectangle to create a window. And I folded the score lines on both panels. Inside the white panel, I applied tumbled glass oxide to create a simple sky.

Next I cut two strips measuring 7-1/2" x 1" and scored at 3/8" from both ends.

I also cut a mountain border and two hill borders out of white cardstock.

On the outside flaps of the white panel, I applied double sided tape, as well as on the strips. I stuck the hill borders on those strips, and adhered the mountain border inside the white panel.

Next I took the white panel, removed the back of the tape on the left flap and attached the left flap of the wood panel. I adhered the left tab of one hill strip inside the white panel, and did the same thing with the other hill strip, but this time I adhered it inside the wood panel. I removed the back of the tape on those tabs, and folded the right flap of the white panel to adhere it to the hill border. And I folded the remaining flap to adhere it to the other hill border. And finally I closed the shadow box.

Next step was to color the images. I started by stamping them on neenah cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink and I colored them using my alcohol markers.

To add more interest to the front of the card, I cut a frame out of navy blue cardstock using two rectangle dies, and attached it using double sided tape. Next I stuck the images down using glue dots. And finally I stamped 3 additional elements and attached them using the same glue dots.

Purple Onion Designs - Picnic with Friends - Watercolored Scene

mercredi 24 juillet 2019

Hey there,

I'm back with the second card I made as a guest designer for Purple Onion Designs.

Just a quick reminder: they're celebrating 16 years so for the occasion, you get 25% off the stamps, no code needed, the discount is automatically done in your cart. And it ends on july 29th.

So for this second card, I went with a cute and simple watercolored scene with three little friends all gathered to celebrate one special day. You will find the name of the stamps I used below the video.

I stamped everything on bristol cardstock and I cut the small images using my scan n cut machine.

I first started by coloring the background using zig markers and arteza real brush markers. Next I added some texture to the trees using crushed olive and peeled paint distress inks.
When all the coloring part was done, I stamped my sentiment and attached the images using foam squares. I layered my panel on a piece a pattern paper and attached the whole element on a white card base. And as a final touch i added white highlights on the images using my white posca pen.

Purple Onion Designs - Welcome Little One - DIY Swing Card

samedi 20 juillet 2019

Hello there,

I'm back with a short series of three cards as a guest designer for Purple Onion DesignsThey're celebrating 16 years so for the occasion, you get 25% off the stamps, no code needed, the discount is automatically done in your cart. And it ends on July 29th, so happy shopping!

For this first card, I used the bunny on a swing stamp and the floral spray stamp. I stamped them on Neenah solar white cardstock using Potting Soil ink by Ranger, cut them using my Scan n Cut machine, and colored them using my Spectrum Noir markers.

For the background, I cut a large rectangle out of plaid paper, a smaller one out of Strathmore bristol cardstock and a cloud border out of pink cardstock where I stamped my sentiment.

On the white panel, I used a homemade cloud stencil and spun sugar distress ink to create a nice and subtle sky. And you know me, I always love to add more texture by splattering drops on my projects, so I used worn lipstick to get some contrast with the spun sugar clouds. And the cloud border looked a little bit too flat to me so I applied worn lipstick on it but just at the very top.

Next I temporarily taped the cloud background to the plaid panel and drew a pencil mark between the swing ropes. Right under this pencil mark, I punched a 1cm circle to create a hole, and I punched a 1,5cm circle out of white cardstock.

I don't have foam circles so I just trim a foam square into a circle, attached it to the 1.5cm circle and put it behind the 1cm hole. To attach the swing to the black foam, I simply glued the top of the ropes on a piece of cardstock, I trimmed off the excess so it won't be visible, and I adhered the swing.

I added more foam squares to prevent the swing to rock too high, and I stuck a cent behind the bunny to make him heavier and help me swing smoothly.

As final touches I added dots and highlights on the images using a white posca pen. And also some clear sequins, making sure they won't interfere with the swing.

Hello Bluebird + Arteza - Tropical Birds

mercredi 10 juillet 2019

Hello there,

Today's card is pretty simple, but at the same time it's very cute and feels like summer with all the bright colors. To color the birds, flowers and leaves, I used Arteza real brush pens for the first time, so feel welcome to check the video below for a quick and simple review.

So for this card, I used the Silly Birds stamp set by Hello Bluebird. I stamped the images on bristol cardstock using Potting Soild ink by Ranger, and colored them using the real brush pens.

When the coloring was done, I created the background using a stencil and spun sugar distress ink. I  added texture by splattering drops of worn lipstick distress ink, and also gold drops to bring light to my panel.

I gold heat embossed my sentiment, cut the images using the coordinating dies, and attached them using foam adhesive squares. Finally I cut a dark pink card base and stuck my panel down.

Isabel Cristina Stamps - Me Time - Waterfall Card

samedi 6 juillet 2019

Hey there,

It's time to enjoy some me time and to relax thanks to this new set designed by Isabel Cristina Stamps.

I started by printing the images on Neenah solar white cardstock using my Epson printer. Next I cut them using my Scan n Cut machine, and colored them using my beloved alcohol markers.

For the backgrounds, I cut five circles out of colorful strip papers to create walls and also three other circles out of cream paper to create floors. I cut the cream circles more than in half and attached them on the strip circles.

I attached my sentiment on a rainbow circle, and attached each small panel on a coordinating circle to continue the monochromatic theme.

I cut a 3cm wide strip, placed a circle on one side and marked the edge. I traced a line from this mark, and marked six centimeters from the pencil line. Next I scored lines on each mark, and folded the strip.

With the pencil line at the bottom, I applied double sided tape under each folded line, but not under the pencil line. And next I stuck all the circles down on top of one another and under each folded line.

I trimmed the strip behind the last circle, and attached a rainbow pull tab on the other end of the strip. To keep both ends of the strip together, I cut another strip, folded it around the long strip, trimmed off the excess, applied tape on the inside middle part, attached it to the end of the strip, turned the whole element over, and closed the strip.

Next I applied double sided tape at the back of the strip, and only on the part, and I stuck my waterfall element down to a white panel brighten up with a rainbow frame. I attached the panel to a white card base, and finally added "It's ok to take a break" on the tab.

Miss Ink Stamps - Blowing hugs & kisses your way

mercredi 3 juillet 2019

Hey there,

Today is the first wednesday of the month so I'm back with a new project for Miss Ink StampsI used some cuties that come in the Bubbles stamp set from the June 2019 release.

I first started by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25" panel out of bristol cardstock, and to create the background, I blended blueprint sketch, wilted violet and black soot distress inks. I also added more texture to my panel by splattering water and some drops of the same inks.

I stamped the images on Neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink, cut them using my Scan n cut machine, and colored them using my alcohol markers.

I colored a piece of cardstock using the same inks as before, stamped my sentiment on it and created a banner that I attached in the top left corner of the panel using foam adhesive squares. And the rest of the images was attached using the same adhesive.

I attached my panel to a black card base, added white highlights on the images, applied clear shimmer on the bubbles to make them more magical, and finally, to get more bubbles, I added some morning dew nuvo drops here and there.
