Craftin Desert Divas - Apple Picking

Hey there,

Here we go again, it's time for a new Craftin Desert Divas release! We're starting with the new "Let's do lunch" stamp set, I mixed it with the new "Flower border" die and some other dies from previous releases.

I first started by die cutting all the papers from bristol smooth cardstock: a grass border, a flower border, a tree border, two tree trunks, two scalloped circles and several apples.

Colored the grass border, the scalloped circles and the bottom of the flower border and tree border using two shades of distress inks. Colored the tree trunks using two shades of brown distress inks.

Colored the flowers from the flower border using alcohol markers. Did the same with the apples and the trees from the tree border. Applied glossy accents the flowers and apples to make them pop more.

On a large piece of bristol smooth cardstock, I applied blue distress ink to create the sky. Then I assembled all the elements: first attached the tree border, then the flower border and next the grass border. Built both trees on the sides using the tree trunks and scalloped circles elements. And attached the apples using glue dots.

Colored the cute ants using zig markers, and I simply gold heat embossed my sentiment on a piece of vellum and attached at the top of the panel between the trees. Attached my image using foam squares, and finally adhered the whole panel on a white card base.

Diorama Card Series - Rapunzel & Maximus

Hello there,

I don't know about you, but one of my favorite Disney movie is Tangled. So when I received this stamp set, I immediately saw Rapunzel and Maximus the horse in these cute images. I just wish there was a little chameleon stamp to create Pascal ^^

I first started by applying distress ink on both sides of my panel using a brick stencil. I used a peachy color, not really usual for a castle, but I thought it matched my Disney theme pretty well ^^

I also die cut six big towers (so I could make the top twos front and back) and a small one. Inked these elements the same way as the big panel. I die cut the top of that big panel using the crenel border, and cut and colored the door.

I used a tree die to cut the pink curtains, and glued them behind each window. Attached the stripes inside the diorama. Die cut a grass border and glued it on the outside. Attached the door too. Attached the towers on the outside using foam squares. I added grass at the bottom of these towers.

Now to the inside. I die cut another grass border, cut it in three and attached the pieces on the stripes. Die cut three trees and attached them inside the diorama. Stamped, die cut and colored my images using zig markers.

Attached the images using glue dots. The butterfly was attached using a thin stripe of clear acetate. Added two flags at the top of the towers to finish the project.

Craftin Desert Divas - Marbling Technique: Nail Polish

Hey there,

Today I'm so excited to share with you three cards I made using a marbling technique: nail polish. It was so much fun creating these backgrounds, and in the end the results are really amazing!

Each background was made following the same process. Here it is:

1. First of all: make sure to open a window because nail polish vapors are pretty intense and bad for health. You don't want to get a terrible headache at the end!

2. Choose your favorite color of nail polish, and in a random container* filled with cold water, just pour the colored liquid directly from the bottle or from the little brush.

*you can use what you want as long as it's large enough to fit your panel ^^

3. With a pointed tool, just draw some lines in the water. The more lines you make the more marble effects you get.

4. Drop and simply plunge your panel into the water. No need to move the paper into the water. Pull it out and see the result. Isn't it awesome?

5. Now just add some elements to complete your card. As for me, I just colored different images using my zig markers, added sentiments and glued some sequins to finish the cards.

Craftin Desert Divas - You Make Me Happy

Back to share this card featuring the new "Gnomie" stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas. It's absolutely adorable, I think it's my favorite set from February release.

I first started by cutting a scalloped rectangle in the middle of a white panel. On another white panel, I marked the place of the window with a pencil, and applied different colors of distress inks to create a nice background.

On the window panel, I stamped my sentiment using my misti tool and black ink. Colored my image using zig markers.

Replaced the scalloped rectangle on the window by taping it at the back, and attached double sided foam stripes at the back of the panel to add dimension to my card.

To add more details and interest to the card, I die cut some green inked leaves, and colored a sun flower. Arranged and glued them on the left side of the window. Attached the image on the right side using foam squares, and added some sequins here and there to finish the card.

Easter Card - In The Carrot Field

Hey there,

Wouldn't it be totally awesome to drive a carrot car? Oh I'd love to do that! This cute image is from the new Jellybean Kisses stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas. Mixed it with several dies to create this cute little scene.

I first started by die cutting different borders: two grass borders, and one fence border. Colored the grass borders using two shades of green distress inks, and left the fence border white.

Then I created the sky using two shades of blue distress inks, and applied white pigment ink on top of it using a home made cloud stencil. Glued both grass borders together, attached them to the white fence border, and then to the panel.

I die cut some carrots, colored them using distress inks, and tucked them in the grass borders using glue dots. Stamped my sentiment, colored the image using zig markers, glued it in place, attached the panel to a kraft card base, and finally added some clear sequins here and there.
