Summer Card Series - Summer Rosette

mardi 22 août 2017

Hello there,

It's starting to feel like autumn where I live so I thought sharing this card would definitely be perfect to kind of brighten my day, and maybe yours!

So I first started by creating the rosette. It's super easy to make and there is a bunch of tutorials on YouTube to learn how to build one. Then I die cut three circle frames that I glued together and a piece of vellum that I glued at the back.

I colored my printed images using my alcohol markers and fussy cut them. On a white card base, I attached a piece of polka dot paper using double sided tape, and glued the rosette and the white scallop frame on top of it using my hot glue gun. I die cut a banner, stamped my sentiment on it and attached it at the bottom of the white scallop frame. And finally I attached my images using glue dots.

Craftin Desert Divas - Wild Background

vendredi 18 août 2017

Hello there,

Today I'm sharing with you the fourth card I've guest designed using the new stamp set "Get Wild" from Craftin Desert Divas. I absolutely loved watercoloring these images and pairing them with wood textured cardstock.

I first started by stamping all the images on watercolor cardstock using waterproof black ink. Then I die cut a rectangle from that panel and colored everything using a bunch of distress inks.

I applied brown distress inks on wood textured cardstock, and die cut the two pieces for my sentiment area, inked the edges to coordinate with the background, and stamped my sentiment on the craft pieces.

To add some dimension, I glued a piece of fun foam at the back of the main panel and attached the whole thing to the wood textured piece using liquid glue.

I attached the sentiment piece to the plaid piece using fun foam. Pierced two holes at the top of the plaid piece, tied a knot using hemp cord and attached the whole piece at the top of the watercolor panel. And finally I attached the whole panel to a white card base.

Craftin Desert Divas - Happy birthday from the savannah - Trifold Card

mercredi 16 août 2017

Hey there,

Here is the third card of the series I've made as a guest designer using the new stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas called "Get Wild". Creating it was so much fun, but I think I should have made the same type of background as the one I made on the Life on Mars card because on this one, it's a little bit too thick when the card is closed. But I still love it anyway!

I first started by die cutting a long strip of grass and two long strips of hills to create the bottom of my card. I colored the three pieces using the same color combo of distress inks. Then I created the sky. I wanted it to be kind of a morning sky so I used a pale yellow ink and a bright blue ink that I blended together. I sprayed water on top of it and blotted it to create a nice effect on that sky.

I divided each piece in three and attached them at the bottom of my trifold card using double sided tape for the hills and liquid glue for the grass.

Then I stamped all my images on alcohol marker friendly white cardstock, colored and fussy cut them. I also stamped my sentiment on the middle part of the trifold card.

I die cut clouds from vellum and white cardstock that I glued on the left and right parts of the card, and then I attached all my images using liquid glue. And finally I used a dark brown marker to add some shadows under each character.

Craftin Desert Divas - Wild Cuteness

lundi 14 août 2017

Hello there,

Here is my second card as a guest designer showcasing the new Craftin Desert Divas stamp set "Get Wild". When I discovered these new images, I immediately knew it would be fun to create a little pyramid. So there was a lot of masking for a lot of wild cuteness!

On white cardstock, I first started by stamping the top of the pyramid: the hippo. I also stamped on masking paper so I could hide his paws and stamp the tiger right below. Did the same technique for each animal.

Once all my little animals were stamped, I entirely mask them and started to create my background. I die cut grass from masking paper, attached it at the bottom of my panel and built the sky using a handmade cloud stencil and distress ink. Then I attached the other part of my making grass paper on top of my sky to create the ground. Removed the masking paper from the animals and colored them using my alcohol markers.

I stamped my sentiment on the inside of my dark craft card base, attached my panel on the front using double sided tape, added black and white gel to their eyes to make them pop and added some sequins to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Happy Dance - Spinner Card

samedi 12 août 2017

Hello there,

This week, I'll be showcasing four projects I've guest designed using a brand new stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas: "Get Wild". I absolutely loved crafting anf creating fun things with these cuties!

For this first project, I chose to make my first spinner card ever. I really enjoyed creating it and I like to think that they're all having fun doing a little round dance!

I first started by stamping, coloring all my images using my Misti tool and my alcohol markers (I ended up not using the little turtle) and fussy cutting them.

Then I created the spinner thing. I cut two squares: one from white cardstock and another one from watercolor cardstock. From the watercolor paper, I die cut a ring using two circle dies from my stash, placed all the watercolor pieces together on the white square base, and only attached the watercolor ring using liquid glue.

Then I took the smaller circle die I previously used, took one larger than the big one I previously used (I think the whole process is easier to understand by watching the video below ^^), attached them together using masking tape and die cut a circle from clear acetate.

I placed my acetate ring on top of the watercolor one, and attached the watercolor circle in the middle using double sided foam tape making sure to put my tape in the middle so the acetate ring could work perfectly later.

Next I temporary attached the acetate ring to the white cardstock, and put several foam squares along the acetate ring. I applied some powder on the side of these foam squares, stamped my sentiment (I almost forgot) and then I attached the rest of the watercolor square using the same double sided foam tape as previously.

I attached all my images, glued my panel on a white card base, and added some sequins to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Starry Galaxy

vendredi 11 août 2017

Hey there!

Here is another card using the new digital stamp set "Space Cadets"! It is pretty simple but I really enjoyed making the night sky and coloring this cutie!

Just this once, I first started by coloring my image using alcohol markers. I also applied glossy accents on his helmet to make the illusion of glass.

And while it was drying, I created my background. First, I masked the bottom part of my piece of paper and applied three different distress inks to create the night sky. Before removing the masking paper, I splattered white paint to create a bunch of stars. I heat set it so I could mask it and color the ground.

I printed my homemade sentiment on white cardstock and attached my little panel on top of it using double sided tape. I attached my character using foam squares, then the whole panel to a white card base and added some sequins to the sky to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Life on Mars - Trifold Card

mardi 8 août 2017

Hello there,

Today I'm sharing a trifold card I absolutely looooooved to make! When I saw these cuties, I immediately thought about sending them on Mars so they kinda could be the first humans walking and having fun on this planet!

I first started by creating the background. For the ground, I used several layers of masking paper and three different distress inks to color all the parts. And for the sky, I simply blended three colors together. I took inspiration in a picture I saw on Google.

I colored my images using the same colors for each one of them. I thought the color red would be perfect for them. And look at this little monkey, isn't he too cute in his space suit?!

Then I blended the same colors as the ones I had used for the sky so I can die cut coordinated stars from it. I also die cut those tiny stars from gold glitter paper, and started to attached all my elements on the card: the monkey and the girl on the top part, the boy with the flag on the middle one, the boy in the space car on the bottom part, and the stars.

I stamped my sentiment on the middle part, and added a bunch of light brown and gold dots on the darker areas of the ground to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Among the stars - Box Card

dimanche 6 août 2017

Hey there!

Today I'm sharing with you a box card I've made using a new die set and also an image from a new digital stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas. These new products will be available in the shop on August 9th.

I've handmade my first box card a long time ago, so I was very happy to make this one especially as this time I had a special die to create the box card base!

So I first started by die cutting all the pieces I needed to make the base: two panels to form the box, and three strips to attach my elements on. And attached everything together using double sided tape and glue dots.

I created a galaxy panel using several distress inks and white paint to create the stars. I colored my character using alcohol markers and fussy cut it. Then I die cut two pieces of watercolor paper to create the ground, colored them using distress inks again, and sprayed water on it to kinda create craters.

Attached these two grey pieces to the black strips into the box, die cut four squares from my galaxy panel and glued them on each flap. Then I closed the box, and attached my character using glue dots. I die cut a bunch of silver glitter stars, glued them to thin strips of clear acetate and then attached these strips inside the box.

I silver heat embossed my sentiment on black cardstock, cut it using an oval die and attached it to the front flap using foam squares. And to add more sparkles, I attached rectangles of black glitter cardstock at the base of the box and a white rectangle at the back so I can write my message.
