Under The Sea Card Series - Twin Mermaids - Mirror Stamping

jeudi 26 octobre 2017

Hey there,

It's been a little while since my last Under The Sea card, so when I got assigned to the Mirror Stamping week on Craftin Desert Divas blog, I thought it would be nice to go back to that series using the beautiful "Mermaid Lagoon" stamp set.

I first started by making the background. I cut a rectangle from a dark blue pattern paper that I glued to a white card base. I also cut a scalloped rectangle from a blue strip pattern paper, and die cut a circle in the middle of it to create the window for my shaker.

I stamped my sentiment on a piece of clear acetate using versamark ink, and applied some white shimmery powder on top of it. Just wiped the excess off so the powder only stick to the ink. Attached my window panel on that acetate piece, and foam strips at the back of it.

Now to the images. I stamped the mermaid, starfish and seahorse on white cardstock using my Misti tool and alcohol marker friendly black ink. Then I replaced the white cardstock by a piece of clear acetate, ans stamped the images on it. Removed that acetate piece from the Misti tool, turn it over and applied it on the white cardstock to get my mirror images. The result was not perfect so I just went back over the lines using a black thin pen. Then I colored everything using my alcohol markers, and fussy cut them.

Back to the background. I put some sequins on the dark blue rectangle and then attached the window panel to close the shaker. Also attached my images on each side of the window using foam squares, and applied clear glitter on the mermaids hair to finish the card.

Craftin Desert Divas - Free Balloons

dimanche 22 octobre 2017

Hey there,

We are very lucky this month because Craftin Desert Divas is sharing a Mini Release full of cuteness. Here is my first card showcasing the new stamp set called "Balloon Parade". I've decided to let them free so they can explore the world LOL

I first started by coloring my images using alcohol markers and a clear glitter brush. I didn't leave the strings so my balloons can be free. I created the sky using distress ink and a homemade cloud stencil.

To make the wall, I applied dark red distress ink on watercolor cardstock, applied dark brown distress ink in the embossing folder, and put them through my Big Shot. I die cut a fence border, colored it in dark brown, did the same thing with a strip of cardstock, glued both together, trimmed the excess and attached it above the wall.

I stamped my sentiment, attached the images using foam tape, attached my panel to a white card base, and glued a few sequins here and there to finish the card.

Holiday Card Series 2017 - Glittery Festive Borders - Shaker Cards

samedi 21 octobre 2017

Hey there,

Here are three shaker cards I made using the brand new Craftin Desert Divas "Holiday Border" dies. I mixed them with supplies from last release, and I used a lot of glitter cardstock so everything looks very festive!

I first started by creating three plastic pockets using my fuse tool. Then I filled them using three different sequin mixes, and closed the pockets.

To create the borders and decorate them, I first started by die cutting them from white cardstock to use as a base, then I die cut each little decorative piece from different glitter cardstock and glued them in place.

I stamped the second part of my sentiment three times, and die cut them using a banner die. I die cut the word "Sending" three times from white cardstock, and also from different glitter cardstocks, glued each glitter word on a white one, and finally attached it above the banner.

On three white card bases, I attached rectangles of vellum, glued my pockets in place, and put little pieces of glitter tape to secure everything.

Autumn Card Series 2017 - Fall Fairy

Hello there,

Today I'm back with a new card inspired by the Craftin Desert Divas Challenge Mood Board. It's all about fall colors, cuteness and glitter. Hope you'll like it!

I first started by cutting all my papers. I attached the yellow one on a white card base, and I die cut a partial circle from the leaf one. I stamped the second part of my sentiment on a piece of white cardstock using my Misti tool and then cut it using a banner die.

At the back of the leaf paper, I glued pieces of foam to add some dimension to my card and attached it to the yellow paper. I die cut the main part of my sentiment from brown glitter paper and white cardstock, and glued both pieces together.

I bent the word Wishing a little bit so it could fit around my circle and glued it using liquid glue. At the bottom of the circle, I attached my banner and poked two little holes to tie a knot using twine. I colored my images using alcohol markers and clear glitter, fussy them and attached them using foam squares. Added some sequins to finish the card.

Holiday Card Series 2017 - Mistletoe Kisses

dimanche 15 octobre 2017

Hey there,

Here is the last card I made for Craftin Desert Divas October Release shwcasing the new "Holly Jolly" stamp set and "Sending" die. Once again, this release was beyond gorgeous!

To create this card, I first started by embossing a scalloped rectangle to get a nice background. I die cut another scalloped rectangle from plaid paper and trimmed it smaller to fit at the bottom of my panel. I glued a piece of gold ribbon to make the edge prettier. Attached my panel to a white base.

I die cut the word Sending from white cardstock and its outline from vellum, and attached both pieces together. Colored my images using alcohol markers, and fussy cut them.

Attached everything on my panel using foam squares, and added some sequins to finish the card.

Holiday Card Series 2017 - Snow Globe - Shaker Card

Hey there,

Here is a shaker card I made using a new Craftin Desert Divas stamp set called "Nice List". I love snow globes (actually I collect them! ^^) so I thought it would be nice to create a snow globe card starring this cute little Santa.

I first started by cutting my sentiment in a kind of round shape so it could be placed on the base of my snow globe. I used that shape to cut a bigger piece in silver mirror cardstock to make the base. Glued the sentiment on top of it. And attached that snow globe base under the circle window previously created in white cardstock.

To create the inside of my snow globe, I die cut a hill border and a house border. Attached little pieces of grey cardstock behind the houses to make windows, and added glitter paste on the edges, houses and trees to make the illusion on snow. Then I simply blended two shades of blue to create the sky, and I colored and fussy cut my image.

I attached strips of double sided foam tape at the back of my front panel, glued the borders on the sky panel, added a bunch of white dots to the sky, attached my image in the middle of the scene using foam squares, put a bunch of sequins in the window, and finally attached the background at the back of the window panel to close the shaker part.

I attached the whole panel to a piece of red plaid paper, and finally added an inside scallop vellum circle on the window to give the illusion of frost.
