Summer Card - Cool in the Pool - Floating Floor Pop-Up Card

lundi 30 juillet 2018

Hello there,

Today I'm very happy to share with you this floating floor pop-up card showcasing the brand new "Swim Fun" digital stamp set by Isabel Cristina Stamps. It's absolutely darling, and I looove these cute little bears! I made them float in the pool and added some die cuts (cabins + accessories) from different papers I had in my stash.

Like my first floating floor pop-up card, I used a video from Jeannie as a tutorial and a guide for the measurements. And here is a close up look at the whole set:

I first started by printing my images on white cardstock, I colored them using my alcohol markers and finally fussy cut them.

Next I cut all the papers I needed to build the scene (again, according to Jeannie's measurements): a white card base, a rectangle for the background and two pieces of different pattern papers for the floating floor.

I cut a large rectangle in the middle of the floating floor paper and attached a piece of clear acetate at the back of it to create the pool. On one side of the card base, I attached a blue square pattern paper (to mimic the bottom of a pool) and then I attached the floating floor piece. I added two strips of the same paper as the floating floor one to totally complete the pool floor.

Then I colored my background piece using two shades of blue distress inks, going dark at the bottom and lighter towards the top. I masked a little circle to be able to make the sun. Added some birds too. Glued that sky panel to the card base.

Finally I attached all my little elements: the cabins, the glasses and sunscreen, my sentiment and of course the little bears.

Isabel Cristina Stamps - Crafty Friends - Floating Floor Pop-Up Card

mardi 17 juillet 2018

Hello there,

Back from vacation, so back in my craft room, just like these cute little bunnies. This set is just perfect, and it includes all the things we all have: alcohol markers, stamps, a die cutting machine, etc... This card is also a floating floor pop-up card, it's my very first, but I didn't come up with the measurements, I just used a great tutorial from Jeannie.

I first started by printing all the images on Neenah solar white cardstock. All the sets from Isabel Cristina Stamps are very easy to use because they come with an "easy print" file which is basically a whole page with all the images on it. So it's quick and easy to print everything at the same time!

I colored the images using my spectrum noir markers, and fussy cut them. It took quite some time as there were some tiny images, but I really didn't mind because of their kind of "basic" shapes ^^ I arranged and glued some items in the green kitchen cart.

Next I built the card. For that, I cut a white card base and glued a piece of white and blue strips pattern paper on one side and a piece of wood pattern paper on the other side. There are special measurements for that part, but they're not mine so please check Jeannie's video to get them ^^

I glued the elements in the background using liquid glue. All the elements in the foreground were attached through the floating floor using little pieces of clear acetate. To finish the card, I simply added my sentiment at the forefront.

Isabel Cristina Stamps - Magical Birthday - Harry Potter Series

mardi 3 juillet 2018

Hello there,

I'm super excited to share with you this card showcasing some really amazing digital stamps from the "Bella Students" & "Bella Magical" sets by Isabel Cristina Stamps. You'll see in the video that I colored some images that didn't end up on the card; it's ok, I'll use them on another project ^^

I first started by coloring all my images (some of them didn't make it to the card but I will use them on another project ^^) using alcohol markers. I used brown tons to color the furniture, and tried  as much as possible to reproduce Harry's clothes.

Then to the background. I masked the top and the bottom using washi tape, and applied another piece of tape to create the floor space. Colored it using grey and black distress inks, and then created wood texture using a stamp and black ink.

Then I masked the floor and created the wall. For that, I first applied a layer of light brown distress ink, and next I applied a darker brown using a brick stencil. Stamped my sentiment, attached all the images using foam adhesive squares, and finally I attached my panel to a white card base.
