Sunny Studio - Tulip Path Background Snippets

Hello there,

I'm back on the Sunny Studio blog with this lovely Valentine card showcasing the gorgeous Tulip Path Background stamp set that I mixed with two characters from Spring Showers to create a sweet scene at the park.

I started off by creating a fairly simple background and cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Quilted Hearts Portrait panel out of kraft cardstock that I attached to a brown panel using 1mm foam squares, and then to a white card base using liquid glue.

Next I stamped the Tulip Path Background twice on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. From the first panel, I cut a snippet featuring the tulips and the path using the fifth smallest Rounded Rectangle Window die, and from the second panel, I cut two snippets featuring the mill and the trees using the third and fourth smallest Rounded Rectangle Window dies. I colored those three little scenes using my Ohuhu markers, matted them on slightly larger white panels I cut using the third, fourth and fifth smallest Rounded Rectangle Mat dies, and then attached the three panels on the card base using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

I stamped additional images: clouds and butterflies from Tulip Path Background, and characters and kites from Spring Showers. I cut them using the matching dies, colored everything using my Ohuhu markers again, and stuck those images to the card using foam squares. I white heat embossed "You make my heart soar" from Balloon Rides on dark brown cardstock and cut it into a slim banner that I attached at the bottom left corner of my card. I stamped two bird silhouettes on the mill snippet using a stamp from Spring Scenes, applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the butterflies wings to make them sparkle, and finished the card with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh - Valentine Trucks

I'm thrilled to be back with this new Valentine card featuring some super cute and colorful Pretty Pink Posh trucks I had so much fun to color in this lovely color palette.

I started off by stamping all the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them using the coordinating dies and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers in my favorite Valentine color palette: aqua, pink and red.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Construction Trucks - trucks (middle + bottom), piles of pink dirt, shovels, hearts, traffic cones • Construction Additions - truck (top), danger sign, fences.

Next I worked on the background and card base. I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, masked the edges off using washi tape, and covered the whole panel with spun sugar oxide ink. And I added large polka dots to my background using the Circle Grid stencil along with worn lipstick and festive berries oxide inks. I splattered water all over the panel and dried it with a paper towel, mixed some lumberjack plaid oxide ink with water and added more splatters to my panel using a slim brush, and did the same with copic opaque white ink. I removed the washi tape, and set my panel aside to dry.

I cut three Eyelet Rectangles out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, and created the same background on the three panels. I masked the scalloped edges off with washi tape, covered the panels with salvaged patina oxide ink, and then added a word pattern using the Valentine Words stencil along with peacock feathers oxide ink. I splattered water all over the panel and dried it with a paper towel, mixed some peacock feathers oxide ink with water and added more splatters to my panel using a slim brush, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

I attached my slimline panel to a white card base, next the three Eyelet Rectangles on top using 1mm foam squares, and then the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I cut a Love Script out of red cardstock and out of white cardstock, I stuck the red one on top of the white one, and attached the whole piece on my panel using liquid glue. And I white heat embossed "I dig you" from Construction Additions on turquoise cardstock, trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die, and attached that banner on the panel using 2mm foam squares.

To finish my card, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, applied glossy accents to the Love Script and white blizzard nuvo drops to the hearts.

Pretty Pink Posh - Valentine Ghost Friends

I'm so happy to be back with this lovely Valentine cards showcasing the cutest Valentine Ghost Friends from Pretty Pink Posh. I love them all so I decided to feature the six of them on my card.

I started off by working on the background and card base. I cut a Xoxo Pierced panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, and cut this panel to 4,5 x 3,25 inches. I masked the four edges off with washi tape, and colored the entire panel with spun sugar oxide ink. Next I added a cute heart pattern to my panel using the Half Hearts stencils along with worn lipstick and festive berries oxide inks. I splattered water on my panel and dried it using a paper towel, mixed some lumberjack plaid oxide ink with water and added more splatters to my panel using a slim brush, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

I removed the washi tape, and once my panel was dry, I attached it to a large turquoise Eyelet Rectangle panel using liquid glue, next to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches aqua panel using 1mm foam squares, and then to a white card base using liquid glue again.

I stamped my Valentine Ghost Friends images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers. 

Next I cut "Love" out of red cardstock and out of white cardstock using a Valentine Holder Additions die. I attached the red one on top of the white one, shifting them a little bit to get a white border, and stuck the whole piece right in the middle of my panel using 1mm foam squares. I also white heat embossed "You're my boo" from Valentine Ghost Friends on aqua cardstock, and trimmed it into a slim banner that I attached below "Love" using foam squares again.

To finish my card, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, applied glossy accents to "Love" to make it super shiny, and then added white blizzard nuvo drops to the hearts to make them all sparkle.

Sunny Studio - Party Pets Birthday Card

I'm so happy to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this extra colorful birthday card showcasing the adorable kitties from Party Pets. I wanted to feature all the cats from the set so I went for a slimline card, but there are also three super cute dogs in that set and I really look forward to having them on a future project!

I started off by stamping my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers in colors that match with the striped background. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Party Pets - cats, balloons, presents, party hats, party blower, small sentiment • Bighearted Bears - banners.

Next I created the background, and I wanted it to be very colorful and festive, so I picked this fun orange + yellow + green + light blue + blue color palette, and cut multiple strips out of colored cardstock using a Ribbon & Lace Border die. Next I cut an 8-1/8 x 3-1/4 inches white panel, covered it with double sided tape, and attached the colored strips. I mixed copic opaque white ink with water and used a slim brush to add splatters to my panel, and then did the same with black ink. And once my panel was dry, I attached it to an 8,5 x 3,5 inches white card base at an angle to add some extra fun to my card.

To ground each little kitty, I cut five polka dot circles of different sizes out of Dots & Stripes Jewel Tones + Polka Dot Parade pattern papers using the Staggered Circles die, stuck them all on my striped background using 1mm foam squares, and then attached the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I white heat embossed "Happy Birthday" from Party Pets on black cardstock, cut it using the matching die and attached it to the panel using 2mm foam squares. I also white heat embossed "The party stars meow" from Birthday Cat at the bottom of my panel, and finished my card with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

Lawn Fawn - Flippin' Awesome Valentine Card

I'm so happy to be back on the Lawn Fawn YouTube Channel & Blog with this super duper adorable Flippin' Awesome card featuring the lovely pandas from I Heart Pandas + Add-On. I hadn't used the Flippin' Awesome die set in a very long time, so I really loved coloring all those cute images and building my interactive panels with them!

As very often, I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Jet Black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything with my Ohuhu markers, Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • I Heart Pandas + Add-On - pandas, bamboo, butterflies, rock, ladybug • Toucan Do It - tropical flowers and leaves • Wild Wolves - large rock • A Bug Deal + Hey Lady - ladybugs • Kanga-rrific Add-On - grass • Critters In The Jungle - vine.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Large Stitched Rectangle panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, masked the stitched edges with washi tape, and first covered the panel with tattered rose oxide ink. Next I added a fun heart pattern using the Layered Hearts Background stencils along with saltwater taffy and worn lipstick oxide inks. I splattered water all over the panel and dried it with a paper towel. I mixed some worn lipstick oxide ink with water and used a slim brush to add pink splatters to the panel, and then did the same with copic opaque white ink.

Next I cut four small panels out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock using a Flippin' Awesome die. I masked the stitched edges and bottom sections with washi tape, and colored the upper part of each panel with oxide inks. Just like before, I started off with a layer of tattered rose oxide ink, and next I added a beautiful bamboo pattern to each panel using the Bamboo stencils along with saltwater taffy and worn lipstick oxide inks. I splattered water all over the panels and dried them with a paper towel, and I mixed some worn lipstick oxide ink with water and used a slim brush to add pink splatters to the panels.

I cut my Flippin' Awesome panel out of Textured Canvas Aqua cardstock, assembled my interactive panel, and attached it at the very bottom of my Layered Hearts Background panel. Please check the video down below to watch the whole assembly process.

I cut a rectangle out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock using a Flippin' Awesome Add-on die, cut a Stitched Simple Wavy Border out of it, colored that border with cracked pistachio and lucky clover oxide inks, and I attached the border right above my Flippin' Awesome interactive panel using 1mm foam squares. And then I stuck all the images using a combination of 1mm and 2mm foam squares, 3mm glue dots and liquid glue.

For my greeting, I started off by stamping "Have a beary good Valentine's day" from I Heart Pandas on the last Flippin' Awesome panel. I cut the Scripty Xoxo out of Mermaid cardstock, and the Scripty Xoxo outline out of Vellum. I layered those two pieces on top of each other, and stuck my Xoxo, as well as a couple of extra images, on the last panel using liquid glue. I cut the handle decorative pieces out of Textured Canvas Aqua cardstock and Lobster cardstock and attached both pieces on the pull tab, and finished my card with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.
