Pretty Pink Posh - Cake Slice Shaker Birthday Card

vendredi 28 février 2025

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back with more inspiration featuring a mix & match of items from the Pretty Pink Posh February 2025 Release, including the amazing Cake Slice Shaker that I paired with previously released products to create an extra festive birthday card.

I started off by covering a large Stitched Torn Rectangle panel with spun sugar oxide ink, and I added stars to this panel using the Cascading Stars stencil along with seedless preserves, worn lipstick, lumberjack plaid, lucky clover, mowed lawn and salty ocean oxide inks. I splattered water all over the panel and dried it with a paper towel, I mixed copic opaque white ink with water and used a slim brush to add more splatters to my panel, and I did the same with fossilized amber distress spritz and with black soot oxide ink. When the panel was dry, I attached it to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches white panel using 1mm foam tape, and then to a white card base using liquid glue.

Next I worked on the Cake Slice Shaker, following those steps:
1. Cut a Cake Slice Shaker frame out of purple cardstock, and cut a whole Cake Slice Shaker panel out of acetate
2. Stick the purple cake frame to the acetate cake using liquid glue
3. Flip the cake over, and add foam strips all around the cake and on the separating lines as well, creating this way three separated stripes
4. Pour some Party Time shaker beads inside each of those stripes
5. Cut another Cake Slice Shaker panel out of pink cardstock, and stick it to the foam strips to close the shaker
6. Attach the complete Cake Slice Shaker to the card using liquid glue

I die cut all the additional bits and pieces out of colored cardstock, and here is a detailed list of the die sets I used:  Big Celebration Cupcake - fireworks, large star, medium stars (on the fireworks), tiny dots  Baby Mug Additions - small star (on the spoon)  Birthday Candles - candles  Valentine Mug Additions - spoon  Birthday Holder Additions - cream  Birthday Cake Pops - bow.

I assembled everything and glued all the elements on the card using foam squares and liquid glue, and then worked on the greetings. I cut "It's your day" using a Birthday Mug Additions die out of gold mirror cardstock and out of white cardstock, I glued the gold words on top of the white ones, shifting them a little bit to create a white border around the gold letters, and then attached the greeting to the Cake Slice Shaker using liquid glue. Next I white heat embossed three different Upright Greetings Birthday sentiments on colored cardstock, trimmed them into slim banners using Sentiment Strips dies, and attached the three banners to the left side of the cake. Finally, I added highlights and details using a white gel pen, glossy accents to the tiny sprinkles on the cream, and white blizzard nuvo drops to the flames and fireworks to make them shine.

Sunny Studio - Cat Antics Birthday Card

jeudi 27 février 2025

Hello there,

I'm happy to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this colorful and festive birthday card showcasing a mix & match of recent and previously released items, including Cat Antics from the Spring 2025 release. I've created this card as a companion to the Party Pets slimline card I shared a few weeks ago, and I love how they're both different but compliment each other very well.

I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and my Graph'it brush markers in a color palette I really love: pink, orange and yellow, with touches of brown. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Cat Antics - cats • Party Pets - balloons, party hats, presents • Holiday Express - train • Balloon Rides - banners.

Next I cut multiple stripes out of colored cardstock using a Ribbon & Lace Border die, and attached them all on a slightly smaller panel than the regular A2 size using liquid glue. I mixed copic opaque white ink with water and used a slim brush to add splatters to my stripe panel, and then did the same with fossilized amber distress spritz for a touch of gold. Once it was dry,  I stuck my stripe panel to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches white panel, and then the whole thing to a white card base.

I cut three squares out of different Gingham Pastels papers using the 1-1/2 inch Stitched Square die, attached those squares on the upper part of my card using 1mm foam squares, I stuck all the images using foam squares again, and then added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

For my sentiment, I cut a speech bubble out of vellum using a Comic Strip Speech Bubbles die, I gold heat embossed "Make A Wish" from Make A Wish on the vellum bubble, and attached it on my panel using transparent foam squares. To finish my card, I glued a scattering of mini star confetti to add even more cuteness and shine to my panel.

*****

I started off with the background and cut a 4,5 x 3,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, masked the stitched edges off with washi tape, and covered the panel with spun sugar oxide ink first. I added a cute pattern to my panel using the Paw Prints stencil along with seedless preserves, worn lipstick, lumberjack plaid, lucky clover, mowed lawn and salty ocean oxide inks. I splattered water all over the panel and dried it with a paper towel, mixed copic opaque white ink with water and used a slim brush to add more splatters to my panel, and then did the same with fossilized amber distress spritz and with black soot oxide ink.

Once my panel was dry, I attached it to a large Eyelet Rectangle purple panel using liquid glue, next to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches red panel using 1mm foam tape, and then to a white card base.

I cut all the bits and pieces out of colored cardstock, and here is a detailed list of the die sets I used:  Dog Holder - dog  Birthday Holder Additions - presents, cake, candles, party hat  Party Balloons - balloons  Baby Mug Additions - small bows, stars  Valentine Holder Additions - heart cheeks, large bows.

I assembled all those pieces and attached everything on my card using a combination of foam squares and liquid glue. I gold heat embossed "Make a wish" from Sentiment Strips Birthday on white cardstock, trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die, and attached that banner using foam squares again. And then I added a few extra details to make my card even cuter: I gave the dog a pair of wiggly eyes and applied glossy accents to his nose, I added glitter to the cake, and glued a pink Valentine Heart confetti on each red bow. As always I finished the card with highlights and details using a white gel pen, and then moved on to the tag.

*****

Here are the steps I followed to create my see-through shaker tag:
1. Cut a Party Hat Shaker frame out of colored cardstock, and cut a whole Party Hat Shaker out of acetate
2. Stick the hat frame to the acetate hat using liquid glue
3. Flip the hat over, and add foam strips on the three edges of the hat and on the top part as well
4. Pour some Party Time shaker beads inside the hat
5. Cut another Party Hat Shaker out of acetate, and stick it to the foam strips to close the shaker
6. Cut a handle using a Build A Stocking die, and attach it to the acetate, at the very top of the hat
7. Cut another Party Hat Shaker frame, and stick it to the acetate to finish the back of the tag nice and pretty

Next I cut a few more items to decorate the hat. I cut the top out of colored cardstock, as well as multiple dots, using other Party Hat Shaker dies, a gold glitter star using a Onesie Shaker die and five tiny stars using a Birthday Holder Additions die. I cut the Let's Party Shadow pieces out of gold mirror cardstock and vellum, and assembled those pieces. And then I stuck everything to the hat using foam squares and liquid. I tied gold ribbon and twine on the handle, added a few highlights and details using a white gel pen, and finished my Party Hat Shaker tag with glossy accents on the words to make them extra shiny.

Sunny Studio - Foxtastic Slimline Card

vendredi 21 février 2025

Hi there,

I'm happy to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this super sweet slimline card showcasing the cutest foxes ever! Those little guys are from Foxy Friends, I had a blast coloring them, and I added a bunch of other images from different sets to create a cute scene.

As very often, I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Foxy Friends - foxes, birds, tulips • Seasonal Trees - trees, birdhouses • Bunnyville - grass • Spring Showers - kites • Tulip Path Background - clouds, butterflies.

For the background, I could have created a simple stenciled slimline background, but I decided to make it more interesting using rounded panels. I cut four Rounded Rectangle Window panels out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, and colored them using stencils and oxide inks. I placed the four panels next to each other on my grip mat, and created the grass first using a slimline grassy stencil from my stash along with mowed lawn and rustic wilderness oxide inks. And for some texture, I mixed rustic wilderness oxide ink with water and added splatters on the grass borders using a slim brush.

Next I created the sky using a slimline cloudy stencil from my stash along with salvaged patina and peacock feathers oxide inks. I mixed peacock feathers oxide ink with water and added splatters on the clouds. And then, I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and added white splatters all over the four panels.

Once my four Rounded Rectangle Window panels were dry, I attached each panel to a white Rounded Rectangle Mat panel using liquid glue, and then I stuck my four panels on a slimline kraft panel. Next I attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, and then added highlights and details using a white gel pen. I white heat embossed "You're foxtastic" from Foxy Friends on aqua cardstock, trimmed it into a banner, attached it to my panel using foam squares, and finally applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the butterflies wings to make them super shiny.

Pretty Pink Posh - Valentine Ghost

vendredi 14 février 2025

Hello there, happy Valentine's day!

I'm so happy to be back with this lovely Valentine card featuring a mix and match of items from Pretty Pink Posh, and to celebrate love, I went for a total monochromatic look with pinks and reds.

For the background, I started off by cutting a Pierced Heart panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, and I covered the whole panel with spun sugar oxide ink. Next I added hearts to my panel using the Scattered Hearts Frame stencil along with worn lipstick and festive berries oxide inks. I splattered water all over the panel, and dried it with a paper towel. I mixed copic opaque white ink with water, and added more splatters to my panel using a slim brush, and then did the same with worn lipstick distress spritz.

Next I cut an Eyelet Rectangle panel out of textured red cardstock, and cut a 4,5 x 3,25 inches opening out of it to create a frame that I attached to my heart panel using 1mm foam squares, and then stuck my panel to a white card base.

I cut a cute Ghost Holder out of pearlescent vellum, and the heart banner pieces from Valentine Holder Additions out of red, pink and white cardstock. I assembled the heart banner using 1mm foam squares, stuck it to the ghost using liquid glue, and added a pair of large wiggly eyes to make the ghost extra cute. I cut "Love" from Valentine Holder Additions out of red cardstock and out of white cardstock, I attached the red word on top of the white one, shifting them a little bit to create a white border, and stuck the whole word to the ghost using 1mm foam squares again.

I attached my Ghost Holder to the Scattered Hearts Frame panel using foam squares, and added highlights and details to the heart banner using a white gel pen. I applied glossy accents to "Love" to make it super shiny, and white blizzard nuvo drops to the hearts to add extra sparkles.

For my greeting, I white heat embossed "You're my boo" from Valentine Ghost Friends on light pink cardstock, and trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die. I cut a scalloped banner out of dark pink cardstock, attached the light pink banner on top using 1mm foam squares, and finally stuck the whole banner right below the ghost using foam squares again.

Sunny Studio - Valentine Mermaids Shaker Card

jeudi 13 février 2025

Hey there,

I'm thrilled to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this new underwater shaker card showcasing the lovely mermaids from Mermaid Kisses. I've featured them two times already, here and here, and since tomorrow is Valentine's day, I thought it would be fun to create Valentine mermaids.

I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Mermaid Kisses - mermaids, seaweeds, tiny seashell, tiny starfish, small fish • Best Fishes - clown fish • Magical Mermaids - jellyfish, tiny fish, starfish, bubbles • Bighearted Bears - envelopes • Tropical Scenes - corals.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and created an underwater background using oxide inks. I first applied, from top to bottom, spun sugar and worn lipstick oxide inks. Next I placed a wave pattern stencil on my panel, and applied, from top to bottom, worn lipstick and festive berries oxide inks. I splattered water all over my panel, and dried it using a paper towel. I mixed copic opaque white ink with water and added more splatters using a slim brush, and then did the same with festive berries oxide ink.

Once my panel was dry, I used the Window Trio Heart Landscape die to cut three hearts out of my panel. Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches pink panel, placed my underwater panel on top, put the three hearts back on their original spots and glued them on the pink panel using liquid glue. I stuck a piece of acetate at the back of the underwater panel, added foam strips all the around the heart windows and on the rest of the panel, poured some iridescent heart confetti and a mix of polymer clay confetti inside each heart window, peeled the backing papers off the foam strips, and attached the pink panel to the foam strips to close my shaker panel.

Next I attached the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, added highlights and details using a white gel pen, and applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the bubbles and hearts on the envelopes to make them sparkle. For my greeting, I stamped "Fintastic" from Fintastic Friends on the middle heart using white stazon ink, I white heat embossed "Life with you is" from Country Carnival on red cardstock, trimmed it into a slim banner, and stuck it right above "Fintastic" using foam squares.

Lawn Fawn - Unicorns & Rainbows Ta-Da Diorama

mardi 11 février 2025

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back on the Lawn Fawn YouTube Channel & Blog with this sweet Valentine Ta-Da Diorama featuring a mix & match of rainbows and unicorns in a bright and colorful color palette I really love on Valentine cards.

I stamped my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Jet Black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and Graph'it brush markers. As always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  A Little Sparkle - unicorn, fairies  My Rainbow - unicorn, rainbow  Unicorn Picnic - unicorn, fairies, long cloud  All The Clouds - clouds, rainbows.

Next I worked on my Ta-Da Diorama and started off by cutting the back panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock. I colored it using the Cloudy stencil along with salvaged patina and peacock feathers oxide inks, splattered water all over the panel and dried it using a paper towel, mixed some peacock feathers oxide ink with water and used a slim brush to add more splatters to my panel, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

I cut the side panels out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, and colored them the same way. I covered the large sections with spun sugar oxide ink, and added a heart pattern using the Layered Hearts Background stencils along with worn lipstick and festive berries oxide inks. I splattered water on both sections and dried the panels with a paper towel, mixed a bit of Liquid Stardust with water and used a slim brush to add sparkling splatters to my panels, and did the same with lumberjack plaid oxide ink and with copic opaque white ink. And I created the same cloud pattern as the back panel on the middle section of each side panel.

I cut two insert pieces out of Acetate and the front panel out of a Candy Cane Lane paper, and I attached my images on the different panels using foam squares and liquid glue: directly on the back panel, on the acetate inserts and on the front panel. I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and white blizzard nuvo drops to the unicorns horns and fairies wings, and then assembled my Ta-Da Diorama.

I cut a Scripty Love out of Tomato cardstock and a Scripty Love Outline out of Tide Pool cardstock, I layered them both on top of each other, and attached the whole piece at the bottom of the front panel using 1mm foam squares. I white heat embossed "Happy Valentine's Day" from Magic Heart Messages on Pastel Pearlescent Vellum, cut it using the matching die and then cut it in half, and I attached each half of the heart on the side panels.

When I make a Ta-Da Diorama, I like to add handles on each side, so I cut two handles out of Tide Pool cardstock using a Double Slider Surprise die. I folded both pieces in half, and attached a handle on each end of the side panels using liquid glue. And to finish my diorama with even more cuteness, I cut two hearts out of Guava cardstock using a Hearts & Stars Skinny Tag die, and finally stuck a heart on each handle.

Pretty Pink Posh - Fringe Heart Card + Double Heart Shaker Tag

samedi 8 février 2025

Hi there,

I'm happy to be back with a new set of card and shaker tag showcasing several items from the Pretty Pink Posh Valentine 2025 ReleaseFringe HeartDouble Heart ShakerLove Script and Scattered Heart Frame stencil. And once again, I was inspired by the super cute Hugs & Kisses confetti mix to pick my inks and colored cardstock.

I started off by creating the card and cut a large Eyelet Rectangle panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock. I colored the whole panel with spun sugar oxide ink, and then created an extra fun pattern using the Scattered Heart Frame stencil along with oxide inks that coordinate with the Hugs & Kisses confetti mix: picked raspberry, salty ocean, tumbled glass, shaded lilac and wilted violet. I splattered water all over the panel and dried it using a paper towel, mixed some copic opaque white ink with water and used a slim brush to add white splatters on the panel, and did the same with liquid stardust for a touch of shine.

Next I cut the four Fringe Heart pieces out of different colored cardstock, and added a pattern to each element using the Mini Polka Dots stencil and matching distress inks. And just like the background, I added white splatters to each of those four pieces. Once these were dry, I assembled the heart using 1mm foam squares between each layer, and I attached the complete heart right in the middle of my Eyelet Rectangle panel using liquid glue.

I cut the Love Script out of holographic cardstock, and attached it right on the fringes using liquid glue. I also stamped and embossed "Always & Forever" from Sentiment Strips: Valentine in silver on white cardstock, trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die, and attached it below "Love" using foam squares. I stuck my Eyelet Rectangle panel to a pink striped 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel using 1mm foam squares, and finally to a white card base using liquid glue.

*****

To make the shaker tag, I followed those steps:
1. Cut a Double Heart Shaker purple frame using the main die and whole heart die from the set
2. Cut a Double Heart Shaker panel out of acetate, and attached it at the back of the purple frame using liquid glue
3. Still at the back of the frame, added foam strips all around the whole heart, and at the back of the cropped heart as well
4. Poured a bunch of Hugs & Kisses confetti inside the whole heart frame
5. Cut another Double Heart Shaker panel out of acetate, and stuck it to the foam strips to close the shaker tag
6. Cut another purple frame, and attached it at the back of the tag to finish it nicely

I stamped and embossed "Valentine Greetings" from Valentine Greetings in silver on white cardstock, cut it using the coordinating die, and attached it right on the acetate heart using 1mm foam squares. I cut a cropped heart out of pink cardstock using a Double Heart Shaker die, added a pattern using the Mini Polka Dots stencil along with a matching distress ink, splattered white ink on it, and once it was dry I attached it to the front of my shaker tag using 1mm foam squares.

I cut a light blue handle using a Build A Stocking die, and attached that handle on the left edge of the cropped heart, created an additional small heart tag using Stitched Hearts and a tiny heart from Baby Mug Additions, and I tied this extra heart tag to my Double Heart Shaker using purple twine and beads from my stash.
