Pretty Pink Posh - Poinsettia Corners Trio - Coloring on Kraft Cardstock

mardi 24 décembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this trio of pretty holiday cards featuring items from previously released Pretty Pink Posh stamp sets. As I was saying in my Rainbow Christmas Fun blog post, I like all the types of holiday cards: cute, elegant, traditional, non traditional, pastel, bright, etc. And I think that today's cards would definitely be tagged as traditional and elegant, with a vintage vibe since I stamped and colored my images on kraft cardstock.

Speaking of which, I started off by stamping all the images on kraft cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu alcohol markers. As always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Christmas Candles - lanterns, candles  Poinsettia Corners - poinsettias, holly  A Little Birdie + Spring Robins - birds.

Once the coloring was done, I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and used a slim brush to add white splatters on all the images to give them more character and add a nice falling snow effect. I set them all aside to dry, and moved on to the backgrounds that I kept pretty simple.

I cut a large Eyelet Rectangle panel out of kraft cardstock, and two large Eyelet Square panels out of the same cardstock. I masked the scalloped edges using washi tape, and added a simple pattern on each panel using the Medium Polka Dots stencil along with vintage photo oxide ink. I mixed some ground espresso oxide ink with water, and used my slim brush to add brown splatters on the three panels. I did the same with copic opaque white ink, removed all the washi tape, and set my panels aside to dry.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel, as well as two 4,5 x 4,5 inches panels out of three different red pattern papers, popped my Eyelet Rectangle and Eyelet Square panels on those red panels using 1mm foam squares, and then on white card bases using liquid glue. I gold heat embossed "Merry" from Christmas Candles three times on red cardstock, and cut them using the matching die. I also white heat embossed "and bright" from the same set three times on dark kraft cardstock, trimmed them into slim banners using a Sentiment Strips die, and finally attached a "Merry and bright" greeting on each card using foam squares.
