Hey there,
I'm thrilled to be back on the Lawn Fawn YouTube Channel & Blog with this set of chocolate bar Valentine card and bookmark showcasing Sweet Strawberry and a mix & match of a few other items from different sets. These were extra fun and very easy to make, so make sure to check the process video down below to see how it was done!
I started off by stamping my images on 110 Neenah solar white cardstock using Jet Black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything with my Ohuhu markers.
Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Sweet Strawberry - large strawberries • How You Bean Strawberry Add-On - medium strawberries • Berry Special - small strawberries • Simply Celebrate Critters - group of speech bubbles • All The Speech Bubbles - speech bubbles • Magic Heart Messages + Porcu-pine For You - tiny sentiments.
Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Large Stitched Rectangle panel, a Stitched Bookmark panel, and multiple squares using another Stitched Bookmark die, and I colored them all using vintage photo and ground espresso oxide inks. I mixed some ground espresso oxide ink with water and used a slim brush to add splatters all over my panels, and I did the same with copic opaque white ink and with vintage photo distress spritz.
I attached nine squares to the A2 panel and four squares to the bookmark panel using 1mm foam squares, and to take a bite out of each panel, I used the largest Stitched Scalloped Circle frame die. Next I attached the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, and stuck each panel to a card base.
For the card greeting, I cut the Scripty Xoxo three times: out of Lobster cardstock, out of Chocolate Bar cardstock and out of 80lb White cardstock, and I attached the red Xoxo to the white one using liquid glue. I used a Stitched Simple Wavy Border die to cut the top of the brown Xoxo, and I attached the tiny pieces to the red Xoxo to give the illusion of dripping chocolate.
For the bookmark greeting, I cut the Xoxo letters three times out of the same cardstock as before using Henry's ABCs dies, and repeated the same steps to add a white border behind the red letters and dripping chocolate at the top.
To finish my card and bookmark, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gelly roll pen, I applied glossy accents to the dripping chocolate, glued a few red heart confetti here and there, and a red eyelet at the top of the bookmark using a Stitched Bookmark die, and finally tied a piece of brown ribbon at the top of the bookmark.
