Under the Sea Card Series w/ Lawn Fawn - Waving Hello - Shaker Card

mercredi 1 mars 2017

Hey there!

Here is the first card of a new series called "Under the Sea". Through the years but more recently, I've been gathering some stamp sets and other stuff representing fishes, mermaids and other pretty things we find under the sea, so I thought it would be fun to make several projects using all this stuff!

To create the frame, I first started by cutting one circle using two circle dies. I taped together the circle frame and the middle piece at the back and applied my favorite "sea/ocean" colors of distress inks. And as it is an "under the sea" scene, I splattered some water to create a nice effect.

It's a shaker card, so in order to build it, I cut a circle from fun foam and a piece of acetate that I attached to my frame using thin double sided tape.

Then I stamped all the sea weeds using a bunch of bright inks and cut them using the coordinating dies. I placed them around my middle piece and attached them using mini glue dots.

I stamped my sentiment and some bubbles directly on the acetate using my misti tool and black non slick ink, and my little turtle on watercolor paper using black waterproof ink. I colored this cutie using my watercolor pens and cut it using the coordinating die.

I attached my sea weed panel on a circle that I colored with blue distress ink off camera. Placed a bunch of clear droplets on it and glued my frame on top using liquid glue.

I attached my panel on a white card base cut at the same size, and glued my turtle on the acetate using double sided tape. And voilà!
