Pretty Pink Posh - Happy New Year Shaker Card

mardi 31 décembre 2024

Hello there, happy new year!

This is my first card of 2025, and I'm happy to announce that I'll be staying in the Pretty Pink Posh design team for another term! Yay!! For the occasion, and also to celebrate the new year, I went for a super duper extra shiny and sparkly shaker card that I had a blast working on using a whole bunch of Pretty Pink Posh recent and previously released items. And how fun it was to play with this amazing kraft + white + gold + silver color palette!

I started off by cutting a 4,5 x 3,25 inches panel out of kraft cardstock that I stenciled using the starry stencil from the Spooky Sky stencil pack along with white pigment ink. So, I added a bunch of white stars to my kraft panel, and then added texture. I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and used a slim brush to add splatters to my panel. I also added gold shimmer splatters and silver shimmer splatters to match with my color palette.

I cut an Eyelet Rectangle panel out of white cardstock, and once my kraft panel was dry, I attached it to the white panel using liquid glue. I also cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches grey shimmer panel, and attached my scalloped panel to it using 1mm foam squares for dimension.

Next I cut the different bits and pieces to build and assemble my Champagne Flute Shakers:
1. Cut a Champagne Flute Shaker frame out of holographic cardstock
2. Cut a whole flute out of acetate, and stuck it at the back of the flute frame using liquid glue
3. Still at the back of the flute, added foam strips all around the edges, following the shape of the flute frame
4. Poured a bunch of Celebration shaker beads inside the frame
5. Cut a whole flute out of yellow gold cardstock, peeled the backing papers off the foam strips, and stuck the yellow gold piece to the foam strips to totally close the Champagne Flute Shaker
6. Repeated those steps to create a second flute

I attached my two Champagne Flute Shakers to my kraft panel using liquid glue, and then die cut several items from different sets out of gold glitter, silver glitter, white glitter, holographic, and white cardstock. Here is a detailed list of the die sets I used:  Christmas Lights Garland - light string, light bulbs  Big Dump Truck - light bulb caps  Party Hats - hats  Birthday Mug Additions - stars, scalloped details on the hats  Big Celebration Cupcake - fireworks  Big Christmas Cupcake - firework center pieces.

I assembled all those pieces using liquid and foam squares, and then attached them all on the panel using foam squares again. And for my greeting, I cut the word "Celebrate" from the Gift Card Bag die set out of dark grey glitter cardstock, and stuck it to the card using liquid glue.

Pretty Pink Posh - Snowman Shaker Winter Card

samedi 28 décembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this shaker card featuring a mix & match of Pretty Pink Posh items. Once again, it was super fun to go through my entire stash and find the dies that could fit in my little winter scene.

I started off by cutting an Eyelet Rectangle panel out of kraft cardstock that I colored using the Layered Snowmen stencils. And most of the times when I stencil on kraft cardstock, I like to start with a white layer, so I used the stencil #1 and #2 along with white pigment ink to create that white base. Next I used all three stencils one after the other, shifted them a tiny bit towards the right, and used oxide inks to create the snowmen: tumbled glass for the bodies, broken china for the scarves, hickory smoke for the hats, vintage photo for the arms, black soot for the eyes and mouths, and carved pumpkin for the carrot noses. And since I created a white base first, we get a nice white border around each snowman in the end.

I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and used a slim brush to add splatters to my panel. I did the same with brushed pewter distress mica spray, and set my panel aside to dry.

Next I die cut the different pieces to build my Snowman Shaker, and assembled them:
1. Cut a Snowman Shaker frame out of white cardstock, stuck it to vellum using liquid glue, and trimmed the excess of vellum all around the snowman
2. At the back of the snowman, added foam strips all around the frame, following the rounded shapes
3. Poured a bunch of Snow Day shaker beads inside the frame
4. Put the Snowman Shaker die on a piece of colored cardstock (I used light blue cardstock), used a pencil to trace all around the die, and cut the snowman shape slightly smaller than what I just traced
5. Peeled the backing papers off the foam strips, and attached the light blue (or different color) snowman to the foam strips to totally close the Snowman Shaker
6. Cut the arms out of light brown woodgrain cardstock, and stuck them to the front of the snowman using liquid glue
7. Cut a Snowman Shaker out of textured white cardstock, cut the arms off, and attached the snowman frame to the shaker using liquid glue

I die cut a few pieces out of colored cardstock to bring my Snowman Shaker to life, and here is a detailed list of the die sets I used:  Snowman Shaker - hat, carrot nose  Big Christmas Cupcake - bow  Fall Mug Additions - scarf  Holiday Wreath Builder - cheeks  Big Easter Cupcake - heart.

I stuck my Eyelet Rectangle panel to a white and light grey 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel using 1mm foam squares, attached my Snowman Shaker on the panel using liquid glue, stabilized the arms using 2mm foam squares, and added all the bits and pieces using liquid glue and foam squares. I had to trim the scarf to make it smaller, and covered the cut with the rounded piece. To make my snowman extra fun, I gave him a pair of wiggly eyes, and a couple of birdie friends from Love From Afar.

Next I white heat embossed several Snowflakes on vellum, cut them using the matching dies, and stuck them all around the snowman using a dot of liquid glue at the back of each snowflake. I also white heat embossed my "Winter Greetings" sentiment from Snowflakes on dark grey cardstock, cut it using the matching die, and attached it below the snowman using foam squares.

I attached my panel to a white card base, and finally added a bunch of cute details: opaque white grit paste here and there for a nice frosty/snowy effect, a snowflake from the Candy Cane Lane Confetti mix on the bow, an Aqua Shimmer sequin in the middle of each snowflake, and then a Marshmallow pearl inside each sequin.

Sunny Studio - Happy New Year Winter Scene

jeudi 26 décembre 2024

Hi there,

I'm thrilled to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this slimline card featuring the cutest penguin family celebrating the new year. It was super fun to create this lovely North Pole habitat for these guys, and as always I mixed and matched a bunch of images from different sets to achieve this super adorable scene.

I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and used my alcohol markers to color everything. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Penguin Pals - penguins, fish  Kiddie Pool - splatters  Bear hugs - snow floe  Winter Scenes - igloos  Country Scenes - mountains  Snowmen In Sweaters - trees, snowflakes.

I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, divided it in five sections, and used stencils along with oxide inks to create a lovely winter landscape. At the very bottom of the panel, I made the sea using a hill stencil along with uncharted mariner and chipped sapphire oxide inks. I splattered water on the ink and dried the panel using a paper towel. I also mixed some chipped sapphire oxide ink with water, and used a slim brush to add more splatters to my sea section.

Right above that sea section, I created three snowy hills using another hill stencil along with tumbled glass and broken china oxide inks. I mixed some broken china oxide ink with water, and used my slim brush to add splatters on those snowy hills.

At the very top of my panel, I created a night sky using uncharted mariner, chipped sapphire and black soot oxide inks. I splattered water on the sky and dried the panel using a paper towel. I also mixed some chipped sapphire oxide ink with water, and added more splatters to the sky.

To achieve my winter landscape, I added falling snow and sparkling details. I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, used my slim brush to add splatters all over my panel, and then I did the same with liquid stardust.

Once my panel was dry, I attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, and added highlights and details using a white gelly roll pen. I white heat embossed "Happy New Year" from Holiday Greetings on black cardstock, cut it using the matching die, and attached it on the sky section using 1mm foam squares. For the final details, I added a frosty effect to the snow on the trees and snow caps on the mountains: I first added liquid glue on those spots, sprinkled fine glitter on the glue, let the glue dry, and finally used a fluffy brush to get rid of any excess glitter.

Pretty Pink Posh - Poinsettia Corners Trio - Coloring on Kraft Cardstock

mardi 24 décembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back with this trio of pretty holiday cards featuring items from previously released Pretty Pink Posh stamp sets. As I was saying in my Rainbow Christmas Fun blog post, I like all the types of holiday cards: cute, elegant, traditional, non traditional, pastel, bright, etc. And I think that today's cards would definitely be tagged as traditional and elegant, with a vintage vibe since I stamped and colored my images on kraft cardstock.

Speaking of which, I started off by stamping all the images on kraft cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu alcohol markers. As always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Christmas Candles - lanterns, candles  Poinsettia Corners - poinsettias, holly  A Little Birdie + Spring Robins - birds.

Once the coloring was done, I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and used a slim brush to add white splatters on all the images to give them more character and add a nice falling snow effect. I set them all aside to dry, and moved on to the backgrounds that I kept pretty simple.

I cut a large Eyelet Rectangle panel out of kraft cardstock, and two large Eyelet Square panels out of the same cardstock. I masked the scalloped edges using washi tape, and added a simple pattern on each panel using the Medium Polka Dots stencil along with vintage photo oxide ink. I mixed some ground espresso oxide ink with water, and used my slim brush to add brown splatters on the three panels. I did the same with copic opaque white ink, removed all the washi tape, and set my panels aside to dry.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel, as well as two 4,5 x 4,5 inches panels out of three different red pattern papers, popped my Eyelet Rectangle and Eyelet Square panels on those red panels using 1mm foam squares, and then on white card bases using liquid glue. I gold heat embossed "Merry" from Christmas Candles three times on red cardstock, and cut them using the matching die. I also white heat embossed "and bright" from the same set three times on dark kraft cardstock, trimmed them into slim banners using a Sentiment Strips die, and finally attached a "Merry and bright" greeting on each card using foam squares.

Pretty Pink Posh - Holiday Trucks Slimline Card

samedi 21 décembre 2024

Hi there,

I'm so happy to be back with this holiday slimline card I created using a mix and match of Pretty Pink Posh items from different seasons. I often like to think outside the box, think of new ways to stretch and use my supplies, and when the Holiday Icons came out, I immediately pictured Santa driving one of the Constructions Trucks, surrounded with trees, in a winter landscape. So I tried to bring the thought in my head to life!

I started off by cutting an 8,25 x 3,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel using the largest Slimline Peekaboo Windows die. I divided this panel in half using washi tape, and created a winter landscape. On the lower part, I blended some salvaged patina and peacock feathers oxide inks, but just a little bit, in order to keep most of the section white and still have this impression of snow. I mixed some peacock feathers oxide ink with water, and used a slim brush to add splatters on my snow border.

Next I created the sky, and I wanted it to be kind of magical, so I went for red tones. I first added saltwater taffy oxide ink all over the upper part of my panel, next I added a little bit of candied apple oxide ink on the edges and at the top, I used my saltwater taffy blending tool to mix the colors, and I repeated those steps a couple of times until I was happy with the result. I mixed some candied apple oxide ink with water, and added splatters to the sky. I also mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, added splatters both on the sky and snow, and did the same with liquid stardust.

I stamped my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Holiday Icons - Santa, small candy canes, stocking, presents  Holiday Stockings - presents, large candy canes  Village Additions - trees  Construction Trucks - trucks, hearts, piles of snow  Construction Additions - trucks, fences.

Once everything was colored, I attached the images on the panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I white heat embossed "Tis the season" from Winter Greetings on dark grey cardstock, cut it using the matching die, and attached it right in the middle of the panel using 2mm foam squares. I attached my Slimline Peekaboo Windows panel to an 8,5 x 3,5 inches white panel, and then to a white card base.

To finish my card, I added a few extra details. I wanted the piles of snow and snow in the truck to have a frosty look, so I added liquid glue on all those spots, sprinkled fine glitter on the glue, let the glue dry, and used a fluffy brush to remove the excess glitter. Since my box of glitter was out, I also added sparkles to the hearts, and finally added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Sunny Studio - Set of Sweet Interactive Card + Treat Bag Topper + Shaker Tags

jeudi 19 décembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this super cute set of interactive card + treat bag topper + shaker tags featuring the lovely gingerbread cookies from Baking Spirit Bright and Christmas Cookies. My first plan was to make the shaker tags and treat bag topper only, but I had some extra stamped images, so I quickly created a sliding card to go with my tags and treat bag topper. And to make sure that everything coordinates nicely, I used the All Is Bright 6x6 paper pack.

I started off by stamping all my images on kraft cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Baking Spirit Bright - house, trees, stars, candy canes, small gingerbread man  Christmas Cookies - large gingerbread people.

So, let's start with the Sliding Window card, shall we? I cut a 5 x 3,75 inches All Is Bright pink gingham panel using the largest Stitched Rectangle, cut the Sliding Window out of it, as well as the notch at the very top, and also cut a 5 x 3,25 inches All Is Bright green panel.

folded my Sliding Window pink panel on the score lines, flipped it over, and added double sided tape on the slim bottom tab. I peeled the backing paper off this tab, flipped my 5 x 3,25 inches green panel over, and attached it at the back of my Sliding Window pink panel, lining up the bottom edge of my pink panel with the slim tab. And I wanted to frame my sliding pink panel nicely, so I cut a 5 x 3,75 inches All Is Bright snowflake panel, cut a Sliding Window out of it, as well as the notch, I trimmed that panel to get a frame, and I stuck that frame to my pink panel using liquid glue.

Next I cut an All Is Bright gingerbread man paper as wide as my sliding panel, I flipped my Sliding Window panel over, and added foam strips along the bottom edge, on the long edges as well, but not along the top edge. I peeled all the backing papers off, and attached my sliding panel to the gingerbread man panel. I attached my panel to a 5,25 x 4 inches All Is Bright stripe panel, and finally to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches All Is Bright red panel.

To totally complete my interactive panel, I attached the remaining piece of snowflake paper at the top of the green pull tab panel, cut an pink eyelet using a Sliding Window die, stuck that eyelet, pierced a hole through it, and added some turquoise twine to be able to pull the interactive panel.

Next I decorated the front of my Sliding Window panel. I cut two All Is Bright polka dot panels as wide as the interactive panel (3 inches), used a die from the Ribbon & Lace Border die set to create two scalloped borders, attached those borders using 1mm foam squares, and then I stuck the images to the scalloped borders and to the pull tab panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

I created two different greetings: one for the front of the card, and one for the inside. For the first one, I cut my two Brilliant Banner 1 pieces out of red cardstock, I white heat embossed "Sweet Christmas Wishes" from Baking Spirits Bright on the front pieces, attached that front piece to the back piece using 1mm foam squares, and then I stuck the whole banner above the trees using 2mm foam squares. For the second greeting, I cut a small Scalloped Oval Mat 1 panel out of aqua cardstock, white heat embossed "Sugar & Spice Make Christmas So Nice" from Baking Spirits Bright on that scalloped panel, I pulled the interactive panel of my card, and attached my small scalloped panel on the bottom section using 1mm foam squares.

To finish my card, I added a few extra details: I cut a 3 inches wide slim stripe out of an All Is Bright paper, and attached it to the tab right below the gingerbread people using liquid glue. I added a few White Snowflake confetti around the Brilliant Banner 1, added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and added a bow at the very bottom of my card using liquid glue.

*****

Now let's move on the shaker tags! They both were made following the same steps and matching All Is Bright papers:

1. Cut a Scalloped Square Tag panel out of a snowflake paper, and used the fifth smallest Stitched Square die to cut an opening inside my tag panel
2. Cut a whole Scalloped Square Tag panel out of acetate, and attached that acetate panel to the back of the snowflake frame using liquid glue
3. Still at the back of the frame, added foam strips on the four edges
4. Poured some candy cane confetti from my stash inside the frame
5. Cut a whole Scalloped Square Tag panel out of a pink gingham paper, and stuck that pink panel to the foam strips to totally close the shaker tag

I cut a polka dot panel using the fifth smallest Stitched Square die again, trimmed that panel into two slim strips that I attached at the bottom of each shaker window using liquid glue, and then I stuck my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

I created two identical greetings using Brilliant Banner 3 dies. I cut each banner piece out of red cardstock, white heat embossed "Sweet Holiday Wishes" from Baking Spirit Bright on the front piece, stuck that front piece to the back piece using 1mm foam squares, and then attached the whole banner to the shaker window using 2mm foam squares.

For the final details, I added highlights to the images using a white gel pen, and tied some ribbon with golden bells at the top of each tag.

*****

And last but not least: the Treat Bag Topper. I used the main die to cut the base out of red cardstock, another base out of an All Is Bright snowflake paper and I trimmed the handle off, and one last base out of an All Is Bright red gingham paper and I trimmed it to keep the handle only. I attached the red gingham handle to the red Treat Bag Topper base using liquid glue, and next the snowflake panel. I used another Treat Bag Topper die to cut the pink gingham panel, attached it to the snowflake panel using liquid glue, and then stuck the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

For my greeting, I first cut a light brown tag using a Window Quad Square die, I white heat embossed "Baking Spirit Bright" from Baking Spirit Bright on the lower section of my tag, cut the top decorative piece out of an All Is Bright gingerbread man paper, stuck it to the top of my tag using 1mm foam square, and tied the tag to the handle along with three golden bells using turquoise twine. I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, glued a few White Snowflake confetti, and finally attached a bow on the handle using liquid glue.

Pretty Pink Posh - Framed Holiday Stockings - Coloring on Kraft Cardstock

lundi 16 décembre 2024

Hi there,

I'm super happy to be back with this monochromatic holiday card showcasing the Holiday Stockings, which was part of the Pretty Pink Posh October 2023 Release. This card is also a companion to this card, so make sure to check it out if you haven't seen it already.

I started off by stamping all the images on kraft cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers. The stockings, teddy bears, presents and candy cane are from Holiday Stockings, and the bows are from Holiday Ornaments.

Next I cut some Eyelet Rectangles and Eyelet Squares panels out of kraft cardstock, I masked the scalloped edges on each panel using washi tape, and then colored each panel using the Mini Polka Dots stencil, the Medium Polka Dots stencil and the Pinstripe stencil, along with hickory smoke, faded jeans, prize ribbon and chipped sapphire distress inks.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches plaid blue panel, and attached the different panels using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. Next I stuck the stockings, presents, teddy bears and candy cane using foam squares again, I white heat embossed "Noel" from Winter Greetings on black cardstock, cut it using the matching die, and attached it on the panel using foam squares. As always I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and as final details, I added a few Charcoal pearls here and there.
