[VIDEO HOP] Pretty Pink Posh - January 2026 Release - Ladybug Shaker Cards

lundi 5 janvier 2026

Hi there,

Today's card is part of the Pretty Pink Posh January 2026 Release Video Hop, so make sure to scroll down to the end of this post and check the process video for more details about this hop.

Ladybugs, shamrocks, super cute stamp sets and awesome die sets... What an amazing release to kick off this new crafty year! I went for ladybugs for this video hop because I've been dying for those ladybug themed items, and I couldn't decide whether I preferred the red ladybug or the turquoise ladybug, so that's why they both ended up in my video.

I started off by cutting two large Pinking Rectangle panels out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, I masked the stitched edges off with washi tape, and covered them both with oxide ink: salvaged patina for one, and spun sugar for the other. Next I used the Layered Ladybugs stencils along with oxide inks to add cute ladybugs to each panel: on the aqua panel I used peacock feathers, hickory smoke and black soot oxide inks, and on the pink panel I used candied apple, hickory smoke and black soot oxide inks. I mixed copic opaque white ink with water and added white splatters to my panels, I did the same with liquid stardust for sparkles and then the same again with black soot oxide ink for more contrast. I removed all the washi tape and set my panels aside to dry.

Once they were dry, I attached the red ladybug panel to a 5,5" x 4,25" red panel using 1mm foam tape, the aqua ladybug panel to a turquoise panel using foam tape again, and then stuck each colored panel to a white card base using liquid glue.

Next I worked on my Ladybug Shakers, and they both were built and assembled the same way, so here are the different steps I followed to create the red ladybug. To make the second ladybug, you just have to change the colors :-)

1. I cut a whole Ladybug Shaker body out of black cardstock to serve as a sturdy base and also to make the antennae,
2. I cut the ladybug's head out of dark grey cardstock, trimmed the antennae off, and stuck the head to the black base using liquid glue,
3. I cut the Ladybug Shaker frame out of red cardstock using the main dies from the set,
4. I cut a whole ladybug out of acetate and attached this acetate panel at the back of the red frame using liquid glue,
5. Still at the back of the red frame, I attached foam strips all around it, following the rounded shape of the ladybug,
6. Inside each of the ladybug wing, I poured a bunch of Love Is Kind shaker beads and a bit of Marshmallow shaker beads,
7. I cut another whole Ladybug Shaker panel out of a light pink pattern paper, added white splatters to that panel, and once dry, attached it to the foam strips to totally close my Ladybug Shaker.

Next I decorated the front of my Ladybug Shaker. First, I cut the middle section of the ladybug again out of dark grey cardstock, added texture and more interest to this piece of paper using the Scallops Pierced Plate die, and then attached it to the ladybug using 1mm foam squares. I cut two hearts: a large one out of aqua cardstock using a Bear Holder die, and a smaller one out of turquoise cardstock using a Ladybug Shaker die. I added white splatters and liquid stardust splatters to the larger one, stuck it to the dark grey middle section of the Ladybug Shaker using 1mm foam squares, and then attached the smaller heart on top using 1mm foam squares again.

I cut two Beautiful Bows: one out of white cardstock and the other out of pearlescent vellum, stuck the vellum bow to the white bow using liquid glue, attached the final bow to the Ladybug Shaker using a 1mm foam square, and then picked a white heart confetti from the Sweet Xoxo mix that I glued right in the middle of the bow. I cut all the black dots using Ladybug Shaker dies, attached them using 1mm foam squares and applied glossy accents to each of them. I gave my ladybug a pair of large googly eyes, cut two tiny heart cheeks using Valentine Cake Pops dies, stuck them using 1mm foam squares, glued an Onyx pearl at the end of each antenna, and finally applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the hearts.

For the greetings, I white heat embossed "Bugs & kisses" from Lovely Ladybugs on black cardstock twice and cut them both using the matching die. I cut two wavy banners using a Banner Greetings 2 die: one out of aqua cardstock, one out of light pink cardstock, and white heat embossed a Valentine Banner Greeting on each banner. And finally I attached a Ladybug Shaker, a greeting and a banner to each card using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.
