Lawn Fawn Monochrome Halloween Challenge

 Hey there,

I am so excited to be back with a new monochrome card for Lawn Fawn. I made this card for a special occasion: I love to make that kind of cards, especially during the spooky season, so with LF we thought that it would be super fun to organize a monochrome Halloween challenge! How cool is that?!

I stamped all the images using jet black ink, cut them all using the coordinating dies and then colored everything using some green alcohol markers.

Once the coloring was done, I cut a stitched panel and picked three green oxide inks to create a spooky background: twisted citron, mowed lawn and rustic wilderness. And once I was happy with the result, I did my same texture routine: water droplets, some rustic wilderness oxide ink mixed with water to create small splatters on the darkest sections of the panel. And finally some shiny splatters that I created by mixing twisted citron oxide + water + liquid stardust.

Next I moved on to the flippy flappy part of the card, and to see exactly how it was made, I invite you to watch the process video below because it's always easier to understand how an interactive card works with images.

Once the whole flippy flappy mechanism was done, I attached one of the ghosts at the end of the acetate strip. And to keep him flat on the panel, I just attached a coin at its back to make it more heavy.

Next I attached my spooky panel on top of my flippy flappy panel, and then started to assemble everything on my panel: I attached two woodgrain pieces that I colored in green to create the floor, and next I finally attached all the remaining images on my panel using liquid glue, foam squares and glue dots. And at the end, I added a million details and highlights on the images and background using a white gel pen, and I stamped my sentiment 'Happy Halloween' on the pull tab.

Sunny Studio - Pumpkin Patch Pop-Up Card

 Hey there,

I'm so happy to back on Sunny Studio's blog today with this lovely pop-up autumn scene at the pumpkin patch. You know that my favorite thing to do is to create cute scenes with lots of details, so as always I picked my images from different sets to help me build the idea I had in mind. You will find the list of supplies down below.

So I stamped all the images using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them all using the coordinating dies and then colored everything using my alcohol markers.

Once the coloring was done, I cut a panel using the center picture window die set by Lawn Fawn and created an autumn sky using dried marigold, kitsch flamingo, picked raspberry and seedless preserves oxide inks. I blended those inks on the top section of the panel, and then added lots of texture to that background to bring more interest to it.

Next I created an identical panel that will go on the front of the card, and cut a window out of it using an oval shape die. I folded the main panel in half, flipped it upside down, lined up the window panel with the bottom section of the main panel, applied glue right on the blank section in the middle, and then attached the oval shape right on that blank spot. And next I stuck foam squares at the back of the window panel that I attached on the bottom section of the main panel to frame the oval shape.

I colored the inside bottom section of the panel using frayed burlap oxide ink, and cut two small grass borders, using a die from Picket fence, that I colored using the same ink. I stuck one of these on the outside of the card and the other one on the inside of the card. And next I attached a few images on the front of the card using liquid glue and foam squares.

Next I moved on to the inside of the card and before creating the pop-up mechanism, I attached all the images I wanted to see in the background.

For the pop-up mechanism, it's always easier to understand with images so I invite you to watch the video below to see how it was made. Basically I created two rows of pop-up sections: on the middle section I attached the wooden cart full of pumpkins and sunflowers with a kid on top, and one the front section I stuck a line of pumpkins and sunflowers with a kid on the left side and a crow on the right.

At the end I created my sentiment in three parts using Words of gratitude: the first part says 'Thank you' and goes on the front of the card, and the second and third parts go on the inside and say 'for always being there' and '& always being you'. And finally I added lots of highlights and details on the images and autumn sky using a white gel pen.

Spooky Card Series w/ Hello Bluebird - Good Fright into the Woods

 Hey there,

I'm back with more Hello Bluebird spooky inspiration, and this time we go trick or treat into the woods with three little friends that are from the new Good Fright stamp set. As always I used a bunch of images from different sets so be sure to check the video or supplies list below for more information.

I started by cutting three trees using the High-rise tree scene die, and I colored each element using hickory smoke and black soot distress inks. I also colored the inside pieces using the same inks.

Next I stamped all the images using extreme black ink by My Favorite Things, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all and then colored everything using my alcohol markers.

For the background I cut a 7 x 5" bristol panel and created a sky night using blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire and black soot oxide inks. And for the grass section, I used peeled paint and forest moss oxide inks.

Once the panel was dry, I attached all the elements and images. I started by placing the trees and to stick the inside pieces using liquid glue. And then I stuck everything using foam squares, glue dots and liquid glue. And as always I finished my card with lots of highlights and details on the images and background using a gel pen.

Spooky Card Series w/ Hello Bluebird - Halloween Fun at the Cemetery

 Hey there,

It's time for a new spooky dose of Halloween fun with Hello Bluebird and this little scene at the cemetery that features Best Days from last release. I picked a whole bunch of images from many stamp sets, so make sure to check the video or the list of supplies below for more information. As always I stamped all the images using extreme black ink by My Favorite Things, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all and then colored everything using my alcohol markers.

Next I cut all the pieces to build my background: a panel that I cut using the third die from the Nesting A7 die set, a long rectangle to make the path, a grass border and some bushes.

I started by creating the sky using cracked pistachio, peacock feathers and wilted violet oxide inks, and next I added a bunch of texture: water splatters first, then some black soot and wilted violet splatters, some liquid stardust to make that sky all starry, and finally some white acrylic paint splatters.

I colored the bushes and grass border using rustic wilderness oxide ink, and colored the long rectangle using hickory smoke and black soot oxide inks. And I attached those pieces on my panel using foam squares.

Next I stuck the images using a combination of glue dots, liquid glue and foam squares, and stamped my sentiment 'Best witches to you this Halloween' using black versafine ink.

I cut a 7 x 5" card base and also cut a frame using the first and third dies from the Nesting A7 die set, I temporarily taped that frame to the card base, and glued my panel right in the middle. Next I attached that frame using foam squares. And finally I added a whole lot of highlights on the images using a white gel pen.

Sunny Studio - Apple Picking with Fall Friends

Hello there,

I'm happy to be back with a new little scene for Sunny Studio, a lovely apple picking automal card featuring some cute critters from Fall Friends, as well as a few images from other sets: the tree image is from Seasonal Trees, the farm and the crows are from Farm fresh, and my sentiment and apple basket are from Happy Harvest.

As always I stamped all the images using extreme black ink by My Favorite Things, cut them all using the coordinating dies and then colored everything using my alcohol markers in traditional automnal colors such as khaki green, yellow, orange, red, and a touch of faded blue for the barn.

Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25" bristol panel and created a simple sky using a cloud stencil along with dried marigold and ripe persimmon distress inks, and then I attached all the elements on this cloudy panel, starting with the farm border using foam tape, and then the rest of the images using foam squares and liquid glue.

I added highlights on the images using a white gel pen, and stamped my sentiment 'Autumn Blessings' from Happy Harvest at the top left corner using black versafine ink. And finally I stuck my apple picking panel on a card base, and added white dots to each critters cheeks.
