Sunny Studio - Beary Big Hugs Tunnel Card

Hello there,

I'm back with a new tunnel card, and this time I'm showcasing some adorable bears from Bear hugs by Sunny Studio, and I've made a home for them to hibernate through spring time.

I stamped all the images on white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them all using the coordinating dies and then colored everything using my alcohol markers. As I always like to do, I picked my images from different stamp sets: Holy night - grass ; Happy harvest - mushrooms ; Savanna safari - rocks ; Seasonal trees - pine trees ; Penguin pals - heart ; Deck the halls - hanging accessory ; Balloon rides - banner

Next I cut three 5,5 x 4,25" panels: a bristol panel, a kraft panel and a brown panel. I set the brown panels aside for later, and started working on the white panel. I covered it with faded jeans oxide ink, and then stamped a row of trees from Bear hugs using chipped sapphire oxide ink.

To darken this forest background, I used chipped sapphire oxide ink again and applied it on the edges, and to add even more contrast, I also added a little bit of black soot oxide ink. And finally, to make this panel full of stars, I added white splatters using copic opaque white ink mixed with water.

Next I used dies from Stitched oval 2 to cut windows out of the blue panel and out of the kraft panel. I used the largest oval die to cut the opening out of the blue panel, and used the second largest oval die to cut the opening out of the kraft panel. And to coordinate with the blue panel, I also added texture on the kraft panel and the brown panel using distress inks.

To create my sentiment, I cut some letters out of aqua cardstock to form the word "Beary", and I also cut a long strip out of vellum and I white heat embossed the words "Sending you" and "big hugs" from Bear hugs on both ends of the strip, leaving enough space in the middle for the word "Beary". I attached the vellum strip at the top of the blue panel, and then I assembled the three panels to finally create my tunnel background. I added foam tape at the back of the blue panel and at the back of the kraft panel, I stuck the kraft panel on top of the brown panel, and then I attached the blue panel on top of the kraft panel.

I also cut a grass border using a die from Picket fence and attached it at the bottom of the blue panel, and then I attached all my cute images using glue dots and foam squares. Finally I attached my panel on a brown card base, and as always I finished my card by adding highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

Holiday Card Series w/ Sunny Studio - Tunnel Shaker Card

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be back on Sunny Studio blog today with this tunnel shaker card featuring three super cute penguins having fun and dancing to celebrate the holidays. They are from Penguin pals as well as the fishes, postcards and candy canes, and I also picked the tree from Feeling frosty. I stamped those images on white cardstock using extreme black ink by My Favorite Things, and colored them using my alcohol markers.

Next I created the tunnel panels. I cut four 5,5 x 4,25" panels out of grey, white glitter and white cardstock as well as a grey pattern paper from the Subtle grey tones paper pack. I set the pattern paper panel aside and kept the three others. And using dies from Stitched Oval 2, I cut a large oval window out of the grey panel, a medium oval window out of the white glitter panel, and a small oval window out of the white panel.

I wanted this tunnel card to be a shaker card as well, so I kept the white panel and attached a piece of acetate at the back of it using liquid glue. I added foam tape at the back of each tunnel panel.

And on the white panel, I also added foam tape all around the window to create room for the sequins. I applied powder all along the inside edges of the foam around the window (the powder makes the edges of the foam non sticky and this way the sequins don't stick to it), I cleaned the acetate, and then I added a mix of white sequins, snowflakes, Pure white jewels and Crystal clear jewels into the window section. I peeled the backing off the foam tape and attached the pattern paper panel to totally close the shaker. And then I stuck the two other tunnel panel on top of this shaker panel: the white glitter one first and then the grey one on top.

To finish this tunnel nicely, I created a frame. I first used the largest die from Scalloped oval mat 1 to cut a white woodgrain panel, and then I used the largest die from Stitched oval 2 to cut a window out of this woodgrain element and this way create an oval frame that I attached on the tunnel panel.

I also cut and glued a white wavy border at the bottom of the panel, and then I attached the images using liquid glue, foam squares and glue dots. And finally I white heat embossed my sentiment "It's penguining to look a lot like Christmas" from Penguin pals on a slim blue banner that I attached at the top of the tunnel using liquid glue.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #51 - Seagulls - Tunnel Card

Today I'm back with a tunnel card inspired by the latest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. I hope it will give you a foretaste of summer with these palm trees and cute seagulls!

To begin, I stamped the images on Neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink. And I colored them using my alcohol markers. When the coloring was done, I cut the images using the coordinating dies.

I cut a 5.25 x 4 inches panel from bristol cardstock and cut a large circle out of it. Next I applied tape to delimit a large strip. And I used tumbled glass distress ink as a base to color this large strip. I splattered water on top of it and dried it. And did the same thing with salty ocean and blueprint sketch distress inks.

I cut two other 5.25 x 4 inches bristol panels. I used the first window panel (the one with the blue strip) as a guide to cut a smaller circle out of the second panel. And I used this second panel as a guide to cut a smaller circle out of the third panel.

Next I took the first panel, and die cut two waves in the blue strip area. This way I'll be able to tuck the wooden poles into the panel. To customize those poles, I cut the small branch parts and I used a black pen and a white gel pen to complete them. I also cut the legs and wings on two seagulls so they seemed to be seating and resting on the poles.

I tucked the wooden poles in the panel from the back, attached them using glue dots and adhered the seagulls using foam adhesive squares. I cut and colored a hill border and an ocean border. The hill was colored using scattered straw distress ink and the ocean was colored the same way I colored the large strip on the first panel. I attached the hill border at the back of the first panel. And attached the ocean border at the back of the second one.

I applied foam tape at the back of each panel, attached a circle that I colored using tumbled glass distress ink on a pattern paper panel and adhered each panel on top of the other. And then I attached the images using glue dots and liquid glue. The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock using versamark ink, white heat embossed and attached on the card using foam adhesive squares. And as a final touch I stamped seagull silhouettes using black versafine ink, I added coconuts and the last seagull that is going to join the others in the sky.

Isabel Cristina Stamps - Wild Jungle - Inside Tunnel Card

Today I'm back with an inside tunnel card. I used measurements from Jennifer McGuire and used a brand new digital stamp set called Wild Jungle and designed by Isabel Cristina Stamps.

To begin I took a 8,5 x 11 inches green cardstock that I cut in half to create two panels both measuring 4,25 x 11 inches.

I scored one part at 5,5, and folded it. And I also cut half an inch from one end.

I scored the second part at half an inch, 5,5 and 6 inches, and folded the lines.

I cut a 5,5 x 4.25 inches panel and trimmed it a teeny tiny bit to get a slightly smaller panel. I scored at 1/4 of an inch from both ends, folded the lines and created a second identical panel.

I took the long panel, placed the thin tab at the top and die cut a circle to create a window. Next I placed one of the smaller panels behind the window, aligned them according to the score lines, and cut a circle out of the panel to create a window smaller than the first one. And I used this new window panel as a guide to cut a smaller circle out of the second panel.

Next I worked on the long panel. I didn't want it to be plain so I applied mowed lawn distress ink on top of it, trying to keep a light hand around the circle so it wouldn't be dark green everywhere. For more interest and details, I splattered the same ink on the edges and corners of the panel. And because I think that green and gold are pretty nice together, I added gold splatters on the panel.

Next I covered the middle panel with a flower patterned paper. I simply cut the same circle out of this paper and glued it on the green window panel. And I did the same thing on the second window panel using a leaf patterned paper. I could have used directly those pattern papers as the window panels but they're pretty thin papers so gluing them on the green panels made them more sturdy. As a background I simply applied tumbled glass oxide ink on a piece of bristol cardstock and splattered water on top of it.

Next I assembled the tunnel. The tumbled glass panel was attached inside the long panel. Next I adhered both of the small panels inside the long one and closed the tunnel. For the front of the card, I cut my sentiment using a circle die, painted the edges using the same gold paint as before and attached it on a bigger leaf circle.

The images were printed on Neenah solar white cardstock using my Epson printer and colored using my spectrum noir markers, as always. To save time I die cut and colored off camera some tropical leaves and flowers and assembled everything using 3mm glue dots.

Finally I added gold sequins outside and inside to match the gold paint, and applied clear shimmer to the butterflies.

My Favorite Things - Blue Princess - Tunnel Card

It's been a little while since I shared a project featuring My Favorite Things products, actually according to my blog it was in may 2018 and it was showcasing the London mouse dressed as the Beatles.

Anyway, back to today's card, it's a tunnel card, it features my favorite color, blue, obviously ^^ and the Once upon a time stamp set. The clouds are from the Sweet sloths stamp set. And I also used the grass fields dies.

I stamped the images on Neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink and colored them using my Spectrum Noir markers. I applied clear shimmer to the grey parts of the princess dress, to her crown, to the birds crown and to the horse's hair, and added white dots to give the illusion of sparkles.

Next I cut three 5.5 x 4.25 inches panels. In the middle of the blue panel, I die cut a large circle. Next I used the blue panel as a guide to position and cut a medium circle out of the flower panel. And then I used the flower panel as a guide to cut a small circle out of the white panel.

I die cut a grass border out of cream cardstock and stamped my sentiment on it. The first part was stamped using versamark ink and was silver heat embossed, the second part was stamped using chipped sapphire oxide ink.

I used the white panel as a guide and a pencil to trace the window on a bristol panel, next I applied tumbled glass oxide ink as a base to create the sky and added chipped sapphire to darken it a little bit at the bottom. Finally water was splattered and dried to add more interest.  And it wasn't planned but I also added chipped sapphire and tumbled glass drops to give the illusion of tiny stars.

Now to the assembly. On the front of the white and the flower panels I attached a grass border using double sided tape. For the blue panel I first attached the sentiment border to another grass border and next I sticked them down on the panel using the same adhesive.

Double sided foam tape was attached at the back of each panel so I could stick everything down: the white panel on the bristol panel, the flower panel on the white panel and finally the blue panel on the flower panel.

I gathered all my images and attached them using foam adhesive squares. I attached the tunnel panel to a white card base and as a final touch I applied white nuvo drops in the center of the flowers. And I also added a third cloud.

Valentine Card Series 2019 - Sweet Couple - Shaker Card - Tunnel Card

I'm super excited to share with you the first card of my Valentine Card Mini Series. During the next weeks i will share several projects showcasing cuties, hearts, red and pink colors and sparkles so I hope you'll like them ^^

So, for this first project, I used the brand new Candy hearts die set by Lawn Fawn along with some other supplies because my absolute favorite thing is to mix and match different sets to build my scenes!

I cut three rectangles measuring 5,5 by 4-1/4 inches. From the dark pink panel I cut a big rectangle. I used the created frame as a guide to die cut a medium rectangle from the plaid panel. And then I used the created frame as a guide to die cut a small rectangle from the white panel.

I used the white frame and a pencil to mark where I wanted to color the background, and used spun sugar oxide ink on bristol cardstock to do it.

I added water drops on top of it, dry them and added tiny drops of picked raspberry oxide ink for more interest.

I mirror stamped the boy so he can be facing the girl. I simply stamped him on acetate, turn the acetate over and applied it on the cardstock. To redo the lines, I simply used a fine black marker by Faber Castell. And to cut the boy, I placed the die at the back of the paper, trying to align it using the light above my desk, and run it through my Big Shot.

To create the shaker, I attached an acetate rectangle at the back of the white frame, added two layers of double sided foam tape along the edges, applied powder along the tape inside the shaker to avoid any stickiness, filled the window with tiny hearts from Pretty pink posh and closed it by attaching the background panel.

I die cut two "I love you" candy hearts from dark pink and white cardstocks. And a solid one from white cardstock. I glued the solid one at the back of the pink one. And used the tiny white letters to fill the wholes in the pink heart.

I attached my images using double sided tape and attached the other frames. The candy heart was attached using square adhesives. Next I attached my panel to a white card base and finally I added clear glitter to the heart to make it super shiny.

Holiday Card Series 2018 - Carol Penguins - Tunnel Card

Today I'm glad (but also a little bit sad) to share with you my last Holiday card for this year. I've been making that kind of card for several years now, and it's always so fun. This year I used a lot of Lawn Fawn supplies because it's definitely my favorite brand, but I also enjoyed using digital stamps by Isabel Cristina, and other brands such as Hero Arts, Simon Says Stamp or 4enscrap...

So for this last holiday themed project, I first started by stamping all the images on Neenah solar white cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink. I colored them using my alcohol markers, added white details on the images, applied white blizzard Nuvo drops on the tree ornaments, and then fussy cut everything.

Next I cut three 4,25 x 5,5" rectangles. I die cut a large circle from the blue cardstock and then used that "holed" blue cardstock as a guide to die cut a medium circle from the plaid cardstock and then used that "holed" plaid cardstock as a guide to die cut a small circle from the white cardstock. So when all three put on top of another, it would create a tunnel.

To create the sky, I applied distress oxide inks on a piece of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, splattered water on it that I dried using paper towel. I stamped the Santa's sleigh image, and added white dots all around it to create falling snow. Then I stamped my sentiment on a cloud border (but used as a snow border ^^) using the same blue oxide ink as the one used for the sky.

On a white card base, I attached the sky panel using double sided tape, next I attached the other elements ("holed" panels + cloud "snow" borders) using double sided foam tape. All the images were attached using glue dots. And finally I added some shimmer to the street lights.
