[Instagram Hop] Pretty Pink Posh September 2024 Release - Fall Bouquet & Fall Harvest

lundi 16 septembre 2024

Hello there,

Pretty Pink Posh is celebrating the changing of seasons with a showcase of amazing crafters and their fall projects. From mushrooms and apples, to fall cupcakes and elegant leaves, you'll find all sorts of inspiration! Make sure to check my post on Instagram and hop along!

I started off by cutting a large Stitched Torn Rectangle panel out of kraft cardstock by Lawn Fawn. I stenciled my panel using the Fall Words stencil along with vintage photo oxide ink, and then added texture. First I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and added splatters all over my panel using a small brush, and then I did the same with vintage photo oxide ink.

I set my panel aside to dry, and stamped my images on kraft cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and my Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Fall Harvest - crate, pumpkins, apples, acorn, mushroom, sunflower, oak leaf  Fall Bouquet - sunflower arrangement  Fall Icons - pumpkin, maple leaf, pine cone, mushroom, turkey, apple, gourd  Spring Robins - crows.

I attached all my images on the panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, white heat embossed my "Grateful for your kindness" greeting from Sentiment Strips: Fall on brown cardstock, trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die, stuck it right below the images using foam squares again, and finished my card with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh - Autumn Shaker Card Duo

samedi 14 septembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm thrilled to be sharing with you this duo of matching autumn cards featuring brand new products from the Pretty Pink Posh September 2024 Release, as well as additional ones from previous years. As you may already know, mixing and matching items from different sets and different years is my favorite exercise, so I try to do it whenever I can to show you how easy it is.

Let's start with the apple themed background, shall we? I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches kraft panel, and started off by creating a white base using the Layered Apples stencil #1 along with white pigment ink. I really love to stencil on kraft cardstock, and every time I do, I like to make this white base first because it makes the colors you add after pop even more. I kept the stencil #1 but shifted it a little bit to the right, and applied colored oxide inks: worn lipstick, rusty hinge, fossilized amber, peeled paint and peacock feathers. And because I shifted the stencil, it created a nice white border around my colorful apples. For the stems and leaves, I used the stencil #2 and #3 along with vintage photo and rustic wilderness oxide inks.

Next I created the mushroom themed background on a 5,5 x 4,25 inches kraft panel, and just like the first background, I started off by making a white base using the Layered Mushrooms stencil #1 and #2. Next I shifted the stencil #1 and colored the top of each mushroom using the same oxide inks as before, and then shifted the stencil #2 and colored the mushrooms feet using vintage photo oxide ink. And once again, by shifting the stencils, we get a cool white border around the mushrooms. I used the stencil #3 along with white textured paste to add cute dots on some of the mushrooms.

Both the Apple Shaker and the Mushroom Shaker were made the same way, except for a couple of details, so here are the different steps to make the apple.
1. Cut the apple frame out of colored cardstock,
2. Cut a whole apple out of acetate, and another one out of pattern paper,
3. Attach the acetate apple at the back of the apple frame using liquid glue,
4. Still at the back of the apple frame, add foam strips directly on the acetate, all along the apple edges, following the rounded shape,
5. Pour Autumn Shaker Beads on the acetate,
6. Close the shaker by sticking the patterned apple to the foam strips,
7. Shake, and voilà!

I repeated all those steps to make the Mushroom Shaker, except that to make the mushroom's foot, I cut an additional mushroom out of kraft cardstock, cut the foot out, and attached it to the shaker using liquid glue.

Next I cut all the bits and pieces out of colored cardstock, and added a little bit of depth to each element using oxide inks. Here is a detailed list of the products I used: • Big Fall Cupcake - sunflowers, acorns, leaves, mushroom • Fall Basket - apple, tiny leaf • Stitched Birds & Holiday Birds - crows • Fall Mug Additions - berry branches • Big Halloween Cupcake & Spooky Mug Additions - pumpkins.

I white heat embossed two greetings on dark brown cardstock and cut them using the matching dies: "Fall greetings" is from Fall Bouquets, and "Happy autumn" is from Solid Fall Foliage. I attached everything on my panels, starting with the shakers using liquid glue, and then the die-cut pieces and greetings using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, 3mm glue dots, and liquid glue.

For the final details, I glued an Onyx Pearl on each crow to make the eyes, added highlights and details to the elements using a white gel pen, and glossy accents to the berries to make them shine.

Sunny Studio - Distinctive Door Autumn Version

jeudi 12 septembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this all die-cut card showcasing an autumn version of the Distinctive Door. I had so much fun shopping my entire Sunny Studio collection to find the perfect dies that could fit the scene I had in mind.

I started off by cutting a 5 x 3,75 inches kraft panel that I stenciled using a brick stencil from my stash along with white pigment ink. I mixed some vintage photo oxide ink with water, and added splatters to my panel, and I did the same with copic opaque white ink. And when my panel was dry, I attached it to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Gingham Jewel Tones brown panel using double sided tape.

Next I cut all the pieces out of colored cardstock, and here is a detailed list of the die sets I used:  Distinctive Door - door, letterbox, door knob, bushes, planters, stairs, columns, roof  Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On - garlands, wreath, small bows, red flowers/berries  Rustic Winter - crows  Comic Strip Everyday - heart  Autumn Tree - leaves  Spring Garden - sunflowers  Botanical Backdrop - sunflower centers.

I assembled and attached everything on my brick panel using a combination of foam squares and liquid glue, and for my greeting, I cut the Brilliant Banner 1 pieces out of dark brown cardstock, white heat embossed "Cozy greetings" from Turkey Day on the main piece, and then attached my banner on the upper part of the door roof using foam squares.

Lawn Fawn - Seasonal Treat Cart Trio

mardi 10 septembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm super happy to be back on the Lawn Fawn YouTube Channel & Blog with this trio of mini slimline cards showcasing the Treat Cart during three different seasons: Fall, Halloween, and Christmas. My first plan was to make the Autumn card only, but I often like to offer a variety of looks for my cards, so I created two more cards to show you how versatile the Lawn Fawn stamps are, and how you can mix and match them, regardless of their original purpose.

I cut three Large Mini Slimline Strathmore bristol smooth panels, and created three identical backgrounds, I just changed the colors of distress inks to match each theme. On the Autumn card, I used peeled paint and forest moss for the grass, and salvaged patina and peacock feathers for the sky. On the Halloween card, I used mowed lawn and rustic wilderness for the grass, and wilted violet and villainous potion for the sky. For the Christmas card, I used salvaged patina and peacock feathers for the snow, and spun sugar and kitsch flamingo for the sky.

I stamped all my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Jet Black ink, I cut them using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers, Ohuhu markers, and Graph'it brush markers.

Here are the stamp sets that are featured on each card:  Treat Cart - cart, banner, sign  Treat Cart Coffee Add-On - banners, coffee machine, cups, treats  Tiny Sentiments Coffee - speech bubble  Trees Before 'n Afters - trees, tiny snowflakes, tiny leaves  Kanga-rrific Add-On - grass.

And here are the additional stamp sets I used on each card:

Fall card So Owlsome - owl  Hay There Hayrides - bale of hay  Jump For Joy - leaves  Let's Go Nuts - squirrels, acorns  Happy Harvest - small pumpkins.

Halloween card Spooky Village - tiny bats  Happy Howloween - witch hats  Spooktacular - tombstones  Booyah - tiny spiders  Fangtastic Friends & Add-On - spiders  Sweet Spiders - large spider, jack o' lantern face, candy corn  Happy Harvest - small pumpkins.

Christmas card Frosty Family & Add-on - snowmen, hats, scarves  Snowball Fight - brick wall  Yeti Or Not - tree, present  Christmas Dreams - bow.

I attached my images on each panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, and then stuck each panel to a white card base. And I never do that, but for these cards I wanted to stamp an additional sentiment inside each card base. Inside the Autumn card, I stamped "Wishing you a brew-tiful fall" from Treat Cart Coffee Add-On, inside the Halloween card, I stamped "Have a treat-filled Halloween" from Sweet Spiders Add-On, and inside the Christmas card, I stamped "Wishing you a brew-tiful holiday" from Treat Cart Coffee Add-On again. I added white blizzard nuvo drops on each banner and on the Christmas tree lights, and finished my cards with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

I think it's so secret that I really like to stencil and color on kraft cardstock all year long, and even more during the Fall season. So that's what I did on today's card, with, of course, a good mix & match of brand new and previously released products.

I started off by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel out of kraft cardstock by Lawn Fawn. I like this cardstock a lot when it comes to color on kraft, I find that the colors blend very well on it. And I created a simple but super cute and colorful pattern on my panel using the Layered Leaf Lattice stencils. I used the stencil #1 along with vintage photo oxide ink to create the stitched lines. And I used the stencil #2 along with candied apple, rusty hinge, fossilized amber, peeled paint and peacock feathers oxide inks to add colorful leaves to my background. I mixed some vintage photo oxide ink with water, and used a small brush to add splatters all over my panel, and I did the same with copic opaque white ink.

While my panel was drying, I stamped my images on kraft cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and my Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Fall Harvest - sunflower arrangement, acorn, oak leaf  Fall Icons - scarecrow, sunflower, moth, acorn  Spring Robins - branch  Fall Jar - moth, mouse, oak leaf  Valentine Train - locomotive, wagon, smoke.

I cut a large Eyelet Oval panel out of some brown gingham pattern paper from my stash, and attached it right in the middle of my Layered Leaf Lattice panel using 1mm foam squares. And next I stuck all my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I white heat embossed my "Autumn greetings" sentiment from Sentiment Strips: Fall on dark brown cardstock, trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die, and attached it right below the train using foam squares again. And as always, I finished my card with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

Pretty Pink Posh - Fall Mix & Match Cupcake

samedi 7 septembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm happy to be back with this Pretty Pink Posh autumn cupcake I've created as a companion to the Spooky Halloween Cupcake I shared with you a couple of weeks ago. When possible, I like to take ideas from other cards, and just by changing the color palette and/or theme, create a completely different card. And once again, my card features a good mix & match of different sets because I like to stretch my supplies and use them regardless of their original purpose.

For today's card, I started off by cutting a large Eyelet Rectangle out of kraft cardstock, and I knew that I would put a sunflower on my cupcake, so I went for a sunflower pattern on my background. And when I stencil on kraft cardstock, I like to create a white base first in order to make the colors stand out, so I used the Layered Sunflower stencil A and B along with white pigment ink to make the white base of my sunflowers.

Next I used the stencil A along with mustard seed oxide ink to make the first part of the petals, and then the stencil B along with fossilized amber oxide ink to make the second part. To make the leaves, I used the stencil C and mowed lawn oxide ink, and to make the center of my sunflowers, I used the stencil D and vintage photo oxide ink. I mixed some vintage oxide ink with water, and used a small brush to make splatters all over my panel, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

I cut all the bits and pieces out of pattern paper and colored cardstock, and added more depth to each element using oxide inks. Here is a detailed list of the die sets I used: • Big Halloween Cupcake - wrap, cream, cake, pumpkins • Spooky Mug Additions - pumpkins • Fall Mug Additions - sunflower, acorn, leaves • Fall Cornucopia - mushrooms, sunflower, corn • Big Easter Cupcake - sign.

I white heat embossed "Autumn greetings" from Fall Jar on the sign. I also white heat embossed "Grateful for your kindness" from Sentiments Strips: Fall on brown cardstock, and trimmed it into a slim banner using a Sentiment Strips die. Next I assembled and attached everything on my Layered Sunflower background using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, liquid glue and 3mm glue dots. As always, I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the elements using a white gel pen.

Sunny Studio - Happy Howl-O-Ween Colorful Scene

jeudi 5 septembre 2024

Hello there,

I'm so happy to be back on the Sunny Studio blog with this spooky cute and colorful card showcasing the super adorable pups from Happy Howl-o-ween. They're so fun, I adore them, and I hope to be able to feature them on more cards in the coming weeks.

I went for quite a simple background for this card, and started off by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel that I divided in two parts: the sky in the upper part, and grass in the lower part. For the sky, I applied, from top to bottom, salty ocean and prize ribbon oxide inks. I splattered water droplets that I dried using a paper towel. I mixed a drop of liquid stardust with a couple of water droplets, added more splatters to the sky, and next I mixed some black soot oxide ink with water to make even more splatters. For the grass, I started off by applying mowed lawn oxide ink on the whole section, and next blended some rustic wilderness oxide ink at the bottom and on the sides. I mixed some rustic wilderness oxide ink with water and added splatters on my green section. And then I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water, and added splatters all over the panel.

I stamped my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers, my Graph'it brush markers, and my Ohuhu markers. And for some extra fun, I picked a purple, aqua, green, yellow and orange color palette for the houses and lights.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used:  Happy Howl-o-ween - dogs  Scenic Route - houses, lights  Fall Scenes - bats, small pumpkins, trees  Too Cute To Spook - spiders, tiny Jack 'O Lantern face.

Once the coloring was done, I white heat embossed my "Wishing you a grrreat Halloween" greeting from Happy Howl-o-ween at the bottom of my panel, and then attached all my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I added a drop of white blizzard nuvo drops on each light to make them all shine, and finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.
